Julius Peppers
Jake Delhomme

for

Jay Cutler
#12 pick

I wish this would all go away so I can stop hearing this crap on a daily basis.

Not a fan of Jake Delhomme any more, and giving away the first rounder is heresy!

Throw in another #1 next year plus this year's #2 and you've got a deal.

What coaching staff? A Pop Warner coaching staff?

That is so one-sided it's ridiculous. Take out the #12 pick and it's still at least arguably in Carolina's favor.

;D Jake Plummer instead of Delhomme and I'd throw in our 1st next year as well.

GAWD that is an awful trade!

Make it stop!!!

Carolina is smokin' some colorado reef if they think that's a legit trade.

Carolina doesn't have a first round draft pick. I would say if we swapped first rounders, that might be closer to a fair deal. They might not think so, though. I think the throw-in of Delhomme is just that: a throw-in. And he's certainly not worth a first round draft pick.

It's not for their first round pick, its for ours!!!

When I first saw it I was thinking we were giving up Cutler for Peppers, Delhomme, and their 1st. Thought about it and said, nope we're still screwed at QB. Then I noticed it was OUR FIRST! F-that!

If we are just going to make stuff up how about Cassel to Denver, Cutler to Tenn and Vince Young + #1 to KC.

That's one **** deal from a value and financial viewpoint.

You're talking over $22m in cap alone and Delhomme is a FA in 2010 not too mention the fact no franchise in this league would give up pick 12 for Peppers and then have the audacity to offer a choker for a Pro-Bowler.

Plus the fact the Panthers are drowning capwise, just $2m under the cap and I dont even know if that includes Peppers tag because he hasn't signed it yet. That is one franchise that cant wait for an uncapped year to clear all their deadwood.

This one isn't even close. Pepper's is a stud, but Delhomme is almost the exact opposite type of QB I would expect McDaniels to want. Asking for #12 on top of it is laughable.

clearly a trade fabricated by panther fans...

dump a terrible QB, and a malcontent for a young franchise QB and a high 1st round pick?...

yea okay...

not trying to shoot the messesnger, but this is no bueno. I will jump straight off any Mcdaniels tiny little bandwagon I am a part of if this type of thing went down. I love peppers, but there's no DL in the league worth a franchise QB

exactly...

QB is the most valuable position in football, so how is it we throw in a 1st rounder?...

In order to get Cutler they would have to START with Peppers and still add more to the package to make it worth it...

Peppers carries big value (although his contract will be a doozy), but a 29 yr old Pro Bowl DE doesn't have the value of a 25 yr old Pro Bowl QB...

no way no how...

I do like the way that Jake DelHomme runs into opposing linemen. It's entertaining, anyway.

I broke this **** over a week ago. There is a draft day deal involving our #1 and Peppers the rest I dont know other then it depends of who falls on draft day.

Now what you got :)

I don't want Delhomme and I doubt McD does either. And that particular scenario gives more value to Peppers than Cutler. I think a QB trumps a defender for value. Carolina is a trade partner that would make a lot of sense though.

Just that Denver is involved somehow with their 12th. I wouldn't put too much into it as its a draft day rumor. That is over a month away.

Well this is something fans here do. TheDave called it the Orange Mane draft formula where you propose a trade of two marginal players with seventh round pick for one really good player to make it seem like someone would make the deal.

Example:

Denver trades John Engleberger and Nate Jackson and a seventh round pick to the Chicago Bears for Matt Forte.

You're forgetting that the "Draft Pick Crew" values that 7th round pick as close to a 1st because there less of a financial investment in the 7th that could **** up the cap in future years, at which point they'll complain if any FA is signed that they perceive to be overpaid (i.e. is signed for anything more than the league minimum).

that scares me a little...

the panthers don't have a 1st round pick...and don't pick in the 2nd round til near the end...

i want peppers but we need our high picks to add some talented youth to our defense...

I take J. Stewart, Peppers, thier first for Cutler. I imagine it might have some legs cause the o cordinator. But this is just ****ing horrible. Mcdouche is an asshole to trade a guy cause he's bitching. Manny Ramirez bitched for 7 years and guess what? it didn't matter on the field.

See Falcons trading Favre and Tampa Bay trading Steve Young.

Maybe a 3rd this year and their 1st next year because lets be honest, Carolina gets Jay Cutler and they are superbowl contenders for years. Not to mention the ticket sales.

That makes me puke. He's a completely worthless QB outside of a few years... not to mention old.

Now if Jay doesn't show up Monday I'll finally lose my support for him. He's not going to win the, 'get McTard to admit he is a liar' quest. He just needs to go to camp, and later on have a hell of a season. If he can't suck up his pride enough to get through that then he's an idiot. I still want him on the team do to his ridiculous talent, but I won't support him as a person anymore until like McDaniels, he proves otherwise.
