Trade out of it or is this draft too weak to realistically move down?

Take Stafford/Curry or trade down. hopefully the latter!

Take Aaron Curry without hesitation.
He is the closest thing to a cornerstone, franchise, possible HOF player as a team is going to get!
Hes a "no brainer"

I'd be cool with that I just wondered the odds we could move down from top pick this year.

You can't trade out of the 1st overall pick without losing BIG time.

Nobody wants to pay a player who has taken 0 snaps in the pros more than 30 million in guarantees.

The Only way I see the Broncos can the first pick is too trade Cutler. I would take Curry with the first pick then trade up with our 12 pick to get Sanchez. Maybe for Jacksonville 8 pick for the 12 pick plus our 3 and 5 rounders.

If the Lions could trade out of the #1 spot without giving a massive discount they already would have.

If for some reason we did wind up with the #1 overall pick and Ryan Clady is still on the roster (seems like a safe assumption) you take Aaron Curry and never look back.

The hypothetical of trading Cutler for #1 and #20 should lead to a draft board of:
1 - Curry, done.

12 - Raji, Stafford, Orakpo, Jenkins, or Everette Brown.

20 - Cushing, Clay Matthews, Tyson Jackson, Beanie Wells, Josh Freeman.

There is now way in HELL. Denver could keep 1 12 20we just dont have the cap for it. I would say take 20 and a 1 next year and a 3rd this year

20th this year, 2nd round pick and next year's 1st. With all of the picks we took, they would have a top 10 pick next year.

Trade 1 of the 1st rounders for next year.
Then we get a crack at Gerald McCoy, Taylor Mays, or Brandon Spikes!

If we got the #1 i would take Curry hands down.

Honestly, trading for a future 1 with Detroit seems dumb. If they keep #1 overall, they can add Jason Smith, and then have a good O-Line. I'd say with Cutler, that offense would be comparable to our offense last year. Given their defense is better than ours was, and their weak division, they would probably end up at about 8-8, or right where we did last year. It's not going to be a top-10 pick, if we trade Detroit Cutler for any package involving next year's first.

The cap hit for #12 isn't actually very big, and #20 is even smaller.

#1 is a lot of invested money, but no more than what we've already got committed to Cutler, and he's now in the roster bonus portion of the deal so there probably isn't a lot of paid guarantees waiting to accelerate.

Its entirely doable, its all about if the FO wants to do it.

If we did something like that I'd think we should be hoping for the following:
1 - Aaron Curry
2 - Raji, then Orakpo or Brown, then Jenkins, then Tyson Jackson
3 - Tyson Jackson, Clay Matthews, or best RB available (Beanie Wells?)

Then draft a late round QB, let Simms start in '09, and draft an earlier QB in '10 (probably shoot for Tebow).

My idea incorporated multiple us having 1/12/20 and we trade for 1st rounder next year / picks this year- it can be with anybody. Also doesn't kill cap space this year.
