Here's something to lighten the mood a little. I've never been a Star Trek fan (more old school Star Wars fan), but this was a well done trailer.

I am, however, a big Terminator fan so this trailer gives me hope about the new movie coming out.

It'll still be badass tho.

Well if it makes you feel better, there is a new "Arnold" (T-800) being played by another Austrian body builder.

How much you want to bet this is the dude that gets captured and sent back in time hmm?

Let's not forget watchmen, which is a cult beast and is on Times 100 best books of all time.

These movies look legit though. (although Ive heard that hardcore star trek fans are pissed off about the new movie)

Early reviews are all over the place on this one.

Ebert gives it 4 stars.

Anthony Lane despises it.

If they do, it won't happen unless they want to **** up the timeline. Kyle Reese was sent back from 2029 (IIRC) in the first Terminator, Salvation takes place in 2018. Reese is in this movie, but he's still just a boy.

I watched it last night at 12:01 on IMAX. It paralleled the graphic novel exactly until the end. I actually think the movie ending was better (while not as brutally gruesome as the novel). It's the first rated R comic-based movie, and I'll tell you... it's the anti-super hero feel good movie, which is why some may hate it.

I AM interested in the Watchmen. It might take me a week or two to get to the theater, but I'll get there...

No. It's a reboot. So it's reinventing the whole universe and narrative, even though it's clearly using the staple iconography and same characters. I imagine they are thinking they will make several films with the new cast and story lines.

Yeah, should be less cheesy and sentimental than the original.

It's going to be a great summer for movies. I'm most looking forward to Terminator and Transformers.

Hey Xenos how's it going, I haven't seen you around here too much lately.
With the way the drama has unfolded this offseason for both teams, I've been spending most of my time in the draft section of this website as well as other draft site...just looking forward to the draft.

Figured everyone needed something to take their minds off of all the drama and conspiracy theory. Since I'm not getting married like Khan, this is the best I could come up with. lol

I think exactly the opposite. I thought the last terminator was terrible, and was skeptical that this next one would be any good. But after seeing this trailer, I'm convinced that it might be the best of the bunch.

Yeah, should be less cheesy and sentimental than the original.

In that trailer the Kirk actor seemed sort of lame. Special effects look great though so I'm sure it will be worth seeing.

If it comes close to wrath of kahn that would be something.

Yeah I've been pretty good about not getting my hopes too far up because I don't want to be disappointed but I love the idea of them making starfleet more like an astronaut program. This looks pretty gritty. I'm definitely going to see it and give it a chance.

Luckily I can still use my military ID to get that discount, so usually $7.50. If you don't have that option, most of the matinee shows are still a decent price.

Around here, you're looking at:

$13 for Imax theater with rumble seats (well worth it IMO)
$10 for regular stadium seating theaters (non matinee price)
$15 total per carload at the local drive-in (for 2 or 3 movies depending on the weekend)

My friend from Highschool went to CBS who holds the rights to the original series a few years back and proposed upgrading the effects of the original series.

They ended up doing it but did not use him.

I have seen the new effects and I miss the original models.

I don't think he got the gig for ST but he is working on Ironman2.

I am pissed that they touched up the original series. I loved the shots with the models. Not everything has to be ****ing CGI!

If you have patience you can wait until DVD then get on the Reserve list at the library.

I don't rush out to Blockbuster anymore, just wait my turn and get it free.

What's a library? :P

For most movies, I can wait until it comes out on DVD. But for the blockbusters, I need to see them in a true theater and don't mind forking out the dough. And nothing beats the drive in in the summer. The kids love it and it's cheap.

For DVDs, I'm a netflix guy. $17 a month for all the DVDs I can watch. I'll just say I get my money's worth.

We were droping about $14 a week at Blockbuster before I found the Library.

I have only been back twice in the last 6 months. Funny how you find you really can wait. Plus when I checked out the "Love Guru" or "Stepbrothers" I did not feel ass raped.

yeah maybe. Also he just seems to young to be a starship captain but obviously he is starting off as a cadet so it could be good. Looks like he gets captains chair somehow? and then will go on a huge adventure.

Who knows hard to tell from a trailer.
