Typically O'mane weekend is decided during the week after the full schedule is released. It's typically a consensus of the most that are going to be able to make it to the game that weekend. It also has a lot to do with what hotel rates are and the amount of rooms available. There have been a couple of times where it's tough to get rooms because ...oh, lets say....The Dahli Lahma (sp?) is in town? Or a trade show....or some other random event that takes up hotel rooms or makes rates skyrocket!

Basically, the most people at a weekend is what would define "O'mane" weekend. However, from my experience, there are always people going to every game. So if you don't make it to the "official" weekend, you'll still get to meet plenty of 'Maners!!

We usually pick a division game within the first month when the weather's still nice... the one exception to that rule being the most recent season when it was the N.O. game....

Typically it's been the 3rd weekend against a division rival...Plus, the thought that tickets would be harder to get for the first home game...we may not have that problem this year :( We've gotten our hotel as soon as the weekend is figured out (when the schedule comes out) and it's been cheaper...you can cancel most of the time without penalty...we've gotten rooms for two weekends in Sept. and cancelled the one...rates tend to go up after the schedule is announced.

You can go regardless for his first home game. I dont think we will be deciding this based on Dawkins running out on the Broncos field for the first time. Sassy and STG pretty much summed it up. We try for first division rival but last year we were scared crapless of the Chargers and went with a safer Saints team. BTW, werent you partying in lot J last year for $40 while we were all in Meck's lot? Ok, I will play along with the others and say, "When did Dawkins get traded to the Raiders?" :giggle:

so anyways getting back to the topic at hand.........looking at the home schedule ( i know **** changes)

But we have a bitch of a schedule at home this year........
Kansas City, Oakland, San Diego, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, New England, Dallas, NY Giants

I think we should wait for either Cleveland or Pittsburgh.

I think it should be a team we don't play at home very often and cleveland and pittsburgh travel well so it could make for an interesting tailgate before hand.

What do you all think?

because lts face it.......its way better when we come out of omane weekend with a win

don't forget about KC.......Hilarious! lol JK jordan

but seriously.........price wise.......its always better to make it the Second home game........the home opener is usually the most expensive.

I am only going to be able to make one or 2 this year to denver (and probably all the away games) though if i end up going to the game in oakland again, ill probably have to fly to LAX and make a nice trip of it.

Jordan are you going to make that game too? Maybe if i rented a car from lax or something we could carpool?

I have 2 free tickets through my airline, but i think they only fly into LAX and SD so i would have to fly to one of those and then drive to oakland.

Yeah the second game would still have good weather (not too hot, not too cold) and cheaper.

plus the first game everyone is still trying to iron out all the kinks.......the second game its smooth sailing.

I might even drive to oman weekend, so i can bring a grill and table and stuff this year.

I know the "story" of the Raiders gear is from someone that has posted on this thread. Sassy didnt make it up. I dont spread because i think it might be not true. 2438, it has many believing it because you seem to have a lot of friends of the opposing team that you seem to sit with during these broncos games. As for SD tickets this season, I cant find any bandwagoners yet to take the other 9 games at face value. Their schedule really sucks compared to our opponents so it will be tough to sell if you arent a Chargers fan. If I can get rid of them, I will be dumping my 42 ( I lost 8 of them thanks to drunks in these seats) seats for the ultimate bandwagon. So, unless 2438 wants to pick some up ( ), we will need to coordinate to buy some all near each other for the next season. Sucks but with the economy, I cant imagine Chargers fans improving their fan base to actual real fans.

That sucks BCJ, I was looking forward to getting tickets with the Maners again. I can understand your dilemma and if we decide to get tickets together, we should just get a real count before the game in SD and find a section to all sit together.
