Foxworth to BAL?

DEN going after offensive FA's and not any top level DL early like Chris Canty?

Fred Taylor to NE?

Just a few nuggets from the Shef:

From the blog:
Gaffney to visit Denver: Even though Denver demolished its defense after this season, the Broncos are seeking to improve their offense at the start of free agency.

Broncos coach Josh McDaniels reached out to his former Patriots wide receiver Jabar Gaffney, who is scheduled to be in Denver on Friday.

The Broncos also pursued Giants free agent running back Derrick Ward, who has received interest from Denver, the Buccaneers, Rams, Bengals and Lions.

While McDaniels reached out to one of his former players, Broncos defensive coordinator Mike Nolan did the same. Denver attempted to arrange a visit this weekend with San Francisco’s free-agent defensive tackle Ronnie Fields. St. Louis attempted to do the same.

Canty doesn't appear to be on our radar at this point.

The market for Cowboys free-agent defensive lineman Chris Canty is heating up.

Canty has four visits scheduled over the next few days.

He'll kick things off in Washington with the Redskins on Friday.

From there, he'll go to Tennessee on Saturday, Seattle on Monday, and San Francisco some time thereafter. That's provided, of course, that a deal isn't struck first.

Neither does Bart Scott.

Free-agent linebacker Bart Scott could soon be joining his old defensive coordinator, Rex Ryan, as former Raven in New York.

According to multiple league sources, Scott's en route to visit the Jets. The club is expected to make a strong offer and, according to one source, there's a good chance he'll sign with New York on Friday.

Scott's people were in negotiations with the Ravens deep into Thursday night, and an NFL source indicated that he became the club's top priority late in the proceedings. Sporting News reported early Friday that the Jets had emerged as the favorite for his services.

Scott has also drawn interest from Giants, Chiefs, Browns, Bucs, Broncos and Dolphins early in the free-agency period.

Schefter reports the Pats signed Fred Taylor.

This is the part that bothers me:

Super dividends: Super Bowl XLIII between Pittsburgh and Arizona helped draw added attention for Steelers cornerback Bryant McFadden and Cardinals defensive end Antonio Smith. Now, each is busy fielding interest as a free agent.

Despite speculation that Detroit would pursue him, McFadden’s first visit could be to the same Cardinals team his Steelers beat in the memorable Super Bowl.

Smith, meanwhile, has received recent calls and offers to visit the Buccaneers, Giants, Eagles, Texans and Falcons. He now is in the process of prioritizing those teams, at which point he would be expected to finalize an itinerary.

I'd love to see the Broncos name associated with at least being interested in these guys. I hope they have a plan on D and don't wait until the shelves are bare!

the longer ray is not drawing interest i cant see with our current lb situation why they wouldn't.......

wow, that hurts to say and stomach the thought of lewis in a broncos uniform he is a good leader and will demand what we need out of our defense

Foxworth to BAL?

Foxy is from Randelstown, around where I grew up, I'm sure he'd love to go home. His parents moved here when he was drafted and followed him to Georgia.

I think the Broncos have to spend at least $20 million this offseason, right?

By next season they have to allocate that much in cap space. Obviously that will encompass some extensions and rookie signings.
