It doesn't even sound like we're interested. The Redskins are going to sign him, Harrison, Haynesworth and probably a bunch of others like they always do and still suck.

There might be interest from us. but with the way our D has played, How much do you think we are drawing from guys like canty?

If we are content with bargain bin guys like last year, we're going to be turning over this defense for awhile. Might as well beg Bly and McCree to come back.

Redskins have like no cap room.

Yet somehow they will get them.

I seriously hate Dan Snyder.

no way does Canty sign with the 1st team he visits. guys like him who are sought after will make at least a couple different trips to different teams to get his price up before he signs.

just because we aren't the first team he comes to, doesn't mean we are not interested.

also, FA has only been open for 3 hours now, so it is possible we have already scheduled appointments with a lot of the guys we are targeting but those moves haven't been reported yet.

From Rotoworld
In addition to the Redskins, the Titans, Seahawks, and 49ers have lined up free agent visits for DL Chris Canty.

As we suspected, this isn't a one-horse race. The Skins, Titans, and Niners would use Canty at defensive end, while Seattle would likely view the 6'7/300-pounder as an interior tackle. Canty is slated to be in Nashville on Saturday, Seattle on Monday, and San Francisco "sometime thereafter."
We're not interested.

Don Banks, of SI.com, reports the Denver Broncos are staying in contact with the agent for free-agent DL Chris Canty (Cowboys) and could emerge as a possible suitor next week.

He probably will get more money from a team like the Titans who think they can make him Albert at DT then he is worth to us at DE. I think if those teams pass and his price comes down we will be interested.

Not like we have the same coaching staff...obviously we're headed in a new direction..i could see why if maybe we were the lions and know body wanted to come here but we have a top 5 offense and just need a "few" pieces here and there on D and we'll be good to go...imagine how good we'll be with a D that can actually force turnovers/stop the other team and an offense with a run game!!

We're sitting back with the expensive guys cos we're not prepared to pay that inflated 1st couple of days money.

Look at Foxworth ffs $7m a year for a 2 CB.

We just ditched a guy who was earning less than that as our No2.

None of the guys we've signed aside from possibly Dawkins (if he signs) would've got more than $2.5m a season.

I've heard Canty will probably get a contract that pays him around $8 mil a year. What the heck has he done in his career to warrant that kind of a contract?

I actually think we've done a decent job with getting guys that are talented and proven at a decent price. Its not like last year when we were betting on severe injury risks (boss, complete unknowns (if lofa tatupu didn't exist, niko K would be a pro bowler) and crappy veterans whos success was far in the past (marlon mccree).
