I know he wanted out cuz he wasnt getting any playing time and Philly wanted a 2nd rnd pck for him so....... Why not swap 1st rd pcks and get phillys 3rd or 4th for Lito. This would be a great pickup and solve alot of our secondary woes. Lito just wants to play i believe and he would be a starter for sure. I dont know let me know what you guys think.

He wouldn't be an upgrade over Dre Bly so I would say no. He's a small to average sized corner and is more of a ballhawk that tries to jump routes and get picks. So he's too similar to Bly and the Broncos have stated that they want bigger more physical corners. Besides why give up value in the draft trading for a corner when he can jus sign one like McFadden or McAlister?

One older secondary player I want from the Eagles is Brian Dawkins.

I second that. Another stop-gap guy like Lynch was

I would like Sheppard, we can't rebuild the defense with young players in one year, he would set us up nicely to build the CB position over the next 2 or 3 years and if we can do something about the front 7 he will be very good.

a stop gap guy with talent would work if we were smart and would get some late round rookies that are raw to learn from the good vets and take over when their time comes.

we would have been fine with our Safety situation if we didn't just go with the flow and be like well we have Lynch so we'll be fine without getting some young guys trained and ready to take over.

If we can not generate QB pressure from our front 7, it does not matter if you have 2 Champ Baileys on defense. The best CB's in the NFL can only cover a good WR so long.

When will you guys figure out that winning teams have a tough and effective front 7 ??

Very unlikely he'll leave Philly.

Unfortunately I agree. My favorite Eagle followed by Westbrook (the fact that we share the same 1st name helps too)

I also like Donnie Edwards as an option for an ILB. He is old so i dont know if he has anything left, but i believe he has exp in the 3-4 from his SD yrs so he might be good for vet leadership if he comes cheap.

Pass. Lito was overrated while playing for one of the best defenses in the league and putting pressure on the QB, he'd be destroyed playing across from Champ in our defense.

Lito was really good but had trouble staying healthy. He missed 6, 3, and 5 games in '05, '06, and '07. After the '07 season he started grumbling about his contract and the Eagles asked too much in trade offers for him after signing Asante Samuel to a huge contract and were unable to move him. He didn't play much down the stretch in '08, and now that they've re-signed Joselio Hanson and still have Sheldon Brown he's really got to go. I'd gladly take him on the cheap but wouldn't want to give up much, if anything, to get him.

why go after a guy with the same skill set as the corner we just released?
