Just talked to the guys on NFLN and said he is considering skipping the 40 on his pro day to allow extra time for his fracture to heal.

Discuss.

I thought surgery was an absolute requirement?

I thought surgery was an absolute requirement?

He was thinking about trying to get the foot to heal enough to run, then have the surgery. This is much smarter. Not running the 40 might hurt him, but not as much as him not being ready for training camp. Oakland may still take him at #7 but if they don't, he's not going to slip too far before someone makes a move for him.

Running a 40, even if it was a good time, and postponing his surgery would hurt him more, IMO.

He's in a tough spot. Wait to have surgery and run so that people can get a time on him. Then have the surgery, miss his team's minicamps and be ready just in time for training camp, but not at 100%. Or he could opt to have the surgery now and be ready for camp for whatever team drafts him. Teams won't have a 40 time on him which will force them to study his speed on the field (which they go by anyhow). IMO, he should get the surgery ASAP. His stock might drop a little but he'll still be a top 10 pick and if not, you know that people will be lining up to get into the 11-15 range to grab him.

The one thing everyone wants to know is what his speed is. This won't help answer that question.

I could care less what his 40 is. I watched some tape of this player for the first time the other night. What I saw was a player that is excellent after the catch. He has wiggle and running ability that is very RB like after he has the ball. Also seems to really have some nice power as well and is big and tall.

He may not run blistering 40's I don't know. But he is a redzone weapon and chain mover, yards after catch demon IMO.

I didn't get to watch a ton of games of him so I'm not saying that I know enough to rank draft picks. From what I saw though I would be excited if he were a bronco.

For sure though it would be better to get a defensive player that fits that pick in the first round. Who knows though you never know how draft plays out.

Well I would care as long as its not like a 4.7

Is he Andre Johnson or Keyshawn Johnson?

i will never even pretend I watch enough college ball to say Kaylore. What I saw would make me excited though. Plus some reputable football media types say they like him.

In any event Broncos IMO should be looking to add defense with the first pick, but if its offense I would think maybe RB or Oline OG or maybe Center.

My apprehension is he plays in a spread offense and hasn't run with a clock. Maybe he'll be awesome. We'll see.

He's awesome. I've seen enough tape to know he's got NFL deep speed and everything else.

I heard he was going to try o just let it heal on it's own.

With all the WR's and OT's, maybe we can trade down to make McNabb happy and pick up another #2. I'll take Lauretis at 22 or whatever.

Shon Green would be nice @3, a little too much like hillis tho. I want Hillis as our fb.

I just hope losing the Goodmans doesnt bite us. Maybe they could only pick off.

I think Lauranatis may got higher then people think. He needs to hit the weight room up but what a natural linebacker. I really like him a lot.

Not running a 40 will not hurt him at all. The teams that are really interested in him have watched the film or scouted him at a game. The lack of a stop watch will not hurt him IMO
