Since i have been in a terrible mood all season long, and we finally showed up for a game, its time to indulge in a little homer shout out to the seniors and the departing canes.
2003 Big East Champions- Miami Hurricanes.
Vilma, DJ, Big Vern, JP, Vince, Mo Sikes, McClover, Al Marshall and co. we will miss you. I love this senior class. DJ, ive followed you ever since you chose us over FSU. You are going to be a beast at the next level. JP has been all heart and surely your Dad is real proud. Jon Vilma, youve been our heart. Good luck in the NFL.
Good luck to Assassin Sean, ill make the flight to Canton when you get there brother. KWII, keep your head on straight son and you'll be fine. Antrel, i hope you stay for another year, but youve been a great cane if you decide to join KWII and ST early. We love your love for the U. Good luck Coach Stoops in your endeavor with your brother in Arizona.
Go Canes.
Its great to be a Miami Hurricane.

He hasn't lived up to his potential since 2001, but Vince Wilfork has been a great 'Cane who had to deal with losing both parents within a few months' time last year. He had a very good game against Pitt last night.

Hope to see you guys in a Bowl game, still debatable if OSU will be an at large BCS bid, but if so, be nice to have a re-match of last years National Title.

A OSU-Miami rematch would get some nice ratings. If I was the Orange Bowl I wouldn't let that slip through my fingers.

i wouldnt care for a UM-OSU Orange Bowl. It would accomplish nothing. Id probably be more angry if we won than lost as we are a year late and a dollar short. Beating OSU now solves nothing, accomplishes nothing, gives me no gratification at all. The Sears Trophy isnt going to be transported down to the Hecht Center if we beat them, this game is meaningless. If it were the sugar bowl thats another story, but not in the orange bowl. Hopefully we play LSU instead so that we can make Nick Saban pay for giving loads of cash to Dwayne Bowe's grandma and stealing him from us last year, as well as Kirston Pittman. Its certainly interesting to see Craig Davis and Johnson also flip from UM to L$U the day their HS coach is offered a position on the L$U staff. How odd. Thats the dirtiest program in america, bar none. I want that son of a bitch's head on a platter.

Looks as if you may be upset, reports are that it's in favor of seeing an OSU-Miami Orange Bowl. SEC Champion vs. Texas Fiesta Bowl, Oklahoma vs USC Sugar Bowl, Michigan vs. Florida State Rose Bowl, and Miami-OSU Orange Bowl are the likely match-ups.

waffle, yes you did. we wasted a championship defense this year, im very disgusted. However, on the other hand, unlike you guys, we dont have rutgers nipping us at the heels in the standings. :)

At this point I would be shocked if the Orange Bowl wasn't Miami vs Ohio State. It seams to be a perfect fit for the game. The Orange Bowl comity has to be drooling at the possible rematch that should draw in great ratings. Plus you'd have to love the Socal vs Denfan war heading into the game.

nah it wont be a war between him and I. We arent Iowa and im not Mock. As i said earlier, i wouldnt be interested in a rematch with them because it has no meaning. If we play them, fine, if not fine. It doesnt matter win or lose, the season has been a disappointment for Miami either way. 11-2 or 10-3, sucks both ways.

Socal: At this point what game has meaning for Miami? No opponent would have a real meaning...

if we played FSU it would have meaning because they are a long time rival and for InterFlorida recruiting wars. If we played LSU, it would have meaning for the same recruiting reasons and for retribution against nick saban (i know you can argue cant you have retribution against OSU, but not really, in LSUs case, that will directly help us in the way in which we were wronged initially, unfair recruiting, but with OSU it wont help us similarly). Playing Texas or whatever, i would agree with you, that has no real meaning. Plus we dont really recruit against OSU for national recruits that much outside of 2 or 3 guys. We recruit against FSU and LSU with regard to almost every single recruit from Dade/broward, Florida in General and Louisiana and Texas.

One bad thing about the OSU-Miami match-up, the loser of the match-up is too good to be a 3 loss team.

Too good, Den? OSU should have lost more than 2. I am not knocking OSU, but that's the truth.

Not to brag, but I've just purchased tickets to the Orange Bowl, my fourth straight year of attending a BCS bowl game. I was in New Orleans for the 2001 Sugar Bowl against Florida, in Pasadena for the 2002 Rose Bowl against Nebraska (what a great time that was, the Rose Bowl is a great experience in itself, plus winning our 5th MNC in a romp), 2003 for the Orange Bowl between Iowa and USC (Trojan sweater girls lived up to the hype, game didn't, Palmer did), and now the 2004 Orange Bowl between UM and OSU/FSU/LSU/Georgia.
All I know is that if it's Miami vs. OSU there is going to be a lot of bad blood, not between the players and coaches, but the fans. There could be blood spilled, I hope not, but many Miami fans weren't too happy with the OSU fan behavior in Tempe last year (I wasn't there, don't know if it's true). I just hope no Buckeye fans get lost in Overtown or Liberty City. Things could get ugly.

If it comes down to Miami vs OSU then I think Miami will roll especially since it's going to be basically a home game for them.
I haven't been impressed with the on field performance by OSU this year but they do find ways to win. I am really hoping that the Orange Bowl gets these two in for a rematch. Who wants to see an Miami vs FSU rematch (other than the state of Florida?)

Believe me, nobody in South Flordia wants to see another UM-FSU match-up. Miami would be in a lose-lose situation, win and it proves nothing, lose and eveyone will say that the game in October was a fluke.
Also, Miami and Florida State will play their 2004 game on Monday Night, Labor Day, next September. That would mean they will play each other 3 times in less than a year if the Orange Bowl gets stuck with UM-FSU.

should and did are two different things. With luck there is talent, and OSU has both.
