Apparent Heart Attack at age 57. Brad Van Pelt was part of the "other" famous 3-4 Linebacking group in the NFL back in the late 70's. Van Pelt made 5 Pro Bowls before Harry Carson and then LT stole his fame to a degree.

Doesn't his son play handball in Idaho now or something? Or was that a different scrub QB? I can never keep them all straight.

That sucks. Early even for a football player.

BVP will miss the man that gave him all that "moxie" in the first place.

Man, that's tough. 57 is too young to die. I vaguely remember reading that they had a pretty tight bond.

as should every father and son. I wonder if he roided up in the 70's. If he did it would be great for someone to speak up on this so kids won't do it. Seems like a lot of players from the 70's were jacked up on roids. Steelers!!!! you friggin cheaters!!!!!!!

Damn, too bad for BVP. He's one guy who needs a stable influence in his life and now his dad is dead at 57, bummer.

Today on 104.3 the fan, Bradlee worked for the Giants as a safety two weeks ago. He finally decides he'd rather play something than be a QB and not play at all. Ironic it was his Dad's old team.
