I am trying to plan a Vegas trip with my friends. Which hotel would you advocate for the best bang for my buck?

Any good stories of Vegas can also be placed in here to give me any my buds some ideas to do.

It really depends on what you guys want.

If you guys play high limit tables MGM, Paris etc. is the ticket for you.

If you are a little lower Treasure Island, Planet Hollywood, Hard Rock etc.

If I had to pick a pretty central place I would say Planet Hollywood. Nice rooms almost middle of the strip, coulple very nice hotels right next to it(Paris, Ven), a mall underneath it, tables are not crazy expensive.

The Orleans is a great place also its on the lower end of the "nice" scale but the rooms are clean and over all the hotel is nice. You will need to take a cab to the strip but its about 10 bucks eachway. Ive stayed here a couple times for March Madness. Depending on the day sometimes the Orleans can be just as much as Planet Hollywood or Treasure Island normally its cheaper but not always.

A place I like to go to is called Stoneys its a huge country bar Im not a big fan of country but Thursday is ladies night and this place gets packed. its well worth the trip. Its at the far end of the strip but any cab driver can get you there. Its not real fancy just jeans and a t shirt type place but they do get some pretty nice "talent" in there.

i stayed at the Hard Rock and it was worth it for the pool scene....seriously, they charge $50 a head to get into that party for non-Hard Rock people, and its PACKED with girls and people havign a great time...

its the best place Ive ever stayed at there...I stayed at MGM Grand and the Luxor...Luxor was much more relaxed if that is your type of thing

Ya I have heard about the sweet pool party at the Hard Rock, My friend and I went over there, but the line was huge. I am sure its worth it though, but we went and played poker instead.

Its a little old school and the rooms arent as nice, but the Flamingo Hilton is smack dab in the middle. You are equal distance to both ends of strip, so you can party up at Venetian/ Harrahs, and Cesars, or head down to Luxor MGM and Mandalay bay for all really close distances. Its pretty cheap, and the pool is really fun.

Pros; Location, price and pool,
Cons, not as nice of rooms, and might run into some families, but you might get that at any of the big hotels

Hard rock is fun but it is a little off the strip (the pool scene is pretty insane!). The hottest collection of girls ive ever seen in one place was at the Palms, but again is off strip and can get a little pricey. Treasure Island isnt a bad place to stay because its relatively inexpensive and right in the middle of the strip.

Right now, vegas occupancy is a little low, so you can get some good deals you normally cant get.

I forgot about the Luxor. They always have a decent special running and the rooms are nice. They also have a couple clubs inside the hotel.

Whatever hotel you want I would checkout i4vegas.com and I would also check outfatwallet.com

fatwallet has a listing of current hotel promotions and the codes so you can book them online.

Also try the 20 dollar trick.

When you go to check in to your room, slip a 20 between your creditcard and ID and when the person checking you in sees it ask if there are any free upgrades. It doesnt always work but I would say its worth it when it does, last vegas trip i got upgraded to a suite. Although the trip before that the lady said they did not have any upgrades and kept the 20 but hell im here to gamble anyway why not gamble on my room?

The Flamingo location is great the hotel itself not so much.

The Flamingo has historically been a little dumpy, but I was just there a couple weeks ago and went to see George Wallace there, and they put a lot of money into it within the past year and it's very much improved. My sister lives out there and knows the scoop and said they put tens of millions into the upgrade recently. I didn't stay there though so I don't know about the rooms, but she said they were totally revamped.

I stayed at the Orleans because my brother-in-law has a hook up there (free room!!). We always stay there and it's always nice. Off the strip a bit, but cabs are cheap or you can wait for the shuttle. The fights on Fridays there are great too. They had a great card of up-and-comers when I was there (two great knockouts and a couple of 4-round brawls) and tix were only $25.

Thats pretty cool. I didnt know that the Flamingo went through that phase. I used to stay there during the "dumpy" era but I didnt think it was that bad. But then again I wasnt in my room much, just used it as a place to crash for the good location and cool pool. I will have to go back and check it out after the renovation. I did see the Jimmy Buffet addition with the restaurant, which was decent.

I'm a cheap ass. I've stayed at the Tropicana, the Luxor, MGM, the Monte Carlo, and Imperial Palace all for under $50/night. The Luxor, MGM and Monte Carlo may be running specials, so check it out carefully. If they are, stay at one of those for a nice hotel. Otherwise, pay the $20 and stay at IP. Its right in the middle of the strip and its Vegas, you sleep when you leave.

Luxor is a very nice hotel for what you pay, especially now.

The Imperial was the place during my collage years, we would pile 8-10 to a room. You do not stay at the Imperial for its room amenities. Now that I'm older, I'll pay for a certain level of comfort and will probably never stay at the Imperial, but it had/has its uses for the young, broke and frugal clientele.

Plus it is the best location to cost ratio on the strip.

I usually stay at MGM because they treat me well there. Lots of decent deals though all around Vegas. Maybe its a good time to splurge and get a killer room.

When I go lower budget I love to stay at TI. There petite suite or tower suite are nice and very affordable.

I hear Mandalay Bay has room pretty cheap right now.

I would assume that the lessor strip and off strip hotels really have some good deals.

If you stay downtown I always stay at the Golden Nugget.

Ive stayed at the Wynn, Bellagio, Paris, Mirage, MGM, Palms, Luxor, Tropicana, Caesars palace, and the Hard Rock.

I would rank them in this order.

1. Wynn.....No other hotel comes close. They have a FERRARI dealer in the basement of the casino. Rooms are the nicest you have ever seen. The free drinks thre are the "top shelf" at other casinos. Rooms can be very expensive.......but if you look online far enough in advance you can get a decent deal.

2. Palms.........best place in the world if you are a single guy. Playboy key club, stars and sports players casino of choice........have never been here without running into someone famous. I little bit of a walk (15 min) but there is a free shuttle thats goes from the palms, to the goldcoast, flamingo, and ballys. So you can jsut take that to Ballys if you want o be right in the middle of the strip.

3. Caesars........Expensive but worth it. Great place to go if you are taking a female with you. Tons of shopping......free shows in the mall.

4. MGM.....one of the biggest casinos there. On the end of the strip........but has a monorail stop that goes from one end of the strip all the way to the other. THE BEST WAY TO go up and down the strip. Stops at 9 different casinos. (it was $15 for 3 days of unlimited use last time i was there)

5. Mirage.......upper class hotel and casino for a middle of the road price. This is michael jordan's favorite spot...(ive seen him there twice) but don't expect to get close to him. Security will cut you off before you get within 50 feet. Also you get to see the lions and stuff for free.

6. Luxor.......decent place (though don't play blackjack there...PM if you want to know why) Rooms are cheap (always under $100) and is right across the street from the MGM so you are not far away from the monorail.

7. Bellagio.......EXPENSIVE........second to only the Wynn. Nice water show out front for free.........(different song/show every half hour most days)
Table games usually havea minimmum of $25 a hand on weekends and it is hard to find a table open for less than $100 a hand.

8. Hard Rock..........Pure party hotel/casino.......great with a group of people. There are so many different things to do in there.........it makes it easier if you can split up (because not everyone will want to do the same thing) Drawbacks include price, LOCATION...........too far off strip to walk.....especially after a few drinks.

9. Paris.........I hate to put this 9th........its a FANTASTIC hotel and casino........but they try TOO hard to pretend your in Paris..........people talking in french got to be annoying by the time we left.

10. Tropicana........I would say to avoid this at all costs.........BUT if your looking to go to vegas CHEAP AND be on the strip then this will suffice.
You can usually get a room for $39.99 a night........just don't expect it to be updated since 1979. The pool area is nice........but the casino is small and crowded........AND you have to walk through the casino with your luggage to get to the rooms.....but like i said if you can deal with that then for the price to be on the heart of the strip (next to the luxor and hooters and across from the MGM)

So in conclusion.........if price is the main goal here...........Luxor (or possible the tropicana is your best bet)

If you want to go middle of the road........palms and mirage are your best bet.

If you want to go all out go to caesars or the Wynn........you will be glad you did.

If i could make a recommendation........we stayed at the tropicana one night, the horseshoe (old vegas) one night (had to experience that lol) and then the wynn the last night...........ended up being 350 for all three nights.
39-trop, 39-horseshoe, 280 or something liek that for the wynn..........but if you do it that way you get to see it all.
Hope thats helps.........

I've never stayed in the Monte Carlo though so i can't say, but i haven't heard great things from people I talked to who were staying there. Who knows though some people just picky.

If you are filling the room up with more then 2 people then who cares anyways the room won't be used to hang out in.

If you are just taking a girl then maybe a nicer room.

Girls really seem to dig the Venetian.

This is giving me the itch. I have a friend whose selling a home and wants to go to vegas when it closes in next couple weeks. I'm thinking about tagging along.

I hit up Vegas for business often. This site typically has a deal that saves me three figures a trip: http://www.savings.com/t-Las-Vegas-coupons.html

Check the individual store pages as well for other deals that may apply (Orbitz, Travelocity, etc.).

I stayed at the Wynn a few months back - awesome place - expect to pay a lot of money doing anything, especially if you eat there.

Also stayed at MGM's The Signature more recently. I was told by the door guy that the three towers there were built as apartments and coupled with having trouble filling them all, owners can rent them out. So as someone else mentioned, you get a large living room area (with sofa bed), big bedroom, two bathrooms, full kitchen and a balcony fairly inexpensively. Probably 1100 - 1200 sq. feet. Nicer and bigger than a good room at the Wynn, and quite possibly cheaper.

LOL That seriously must be the shlttiest casino in vegas. But I went there all the time when I couldnt sleep or wanted to gamble but was too lazy to drive.

Once I had a nice run on the BJ table (the one with the torn felt and the chipped chipsROFL! ) from 3 am to 7 am won about a grand.

Avoid The Luxor like the plague looks cool on the outside but the inside is trash same goes for the Excalibur.

Go stay at the Mirage, the pool is amazing, the security is great they check your room keys at the elevators at night I always felt safe there. The strip location is really good too.

I stayed at Planet Hollywood before also I liked it but it went up in price so much since I last stayed but it really is a nice Hotel/Casino.

If you don't stay at Mirage or PH, look into Aria & Cosmopoliton they are both fairly new I heard nothing but great things about both places I went inside them both they are really nice. I heard Cosmopolitan is a nice hotel for partying.

I loved the Mirage just felt great overall, like someone else said in this thread high quality casino at mid range price. If you and your buddies are looking for an awesome Pool its pretty damn special in my opinion. The whole time I was in this pool I got that "dream vacation getaway" feel sippin drinks pool side it was amazing.

The Trump is my favorite - slightly off strip but free shuttles to Wynn and Ceasars, only 5 min walk to the strip itself and can walk through the mall to get there during the day. Large rooms with kitchen, very generous hot tub with TV built into mirror in the bathroom. A lot cheaper than equivalent rooms at top flight places like Venetian and Bellagio

Yep. I picked The Signature from the list on hotels.com last year. Don't remember exactly how much we paid but it was an excellent value for the $$$ - will go back again next year if we can get a similar deal. It's definitely not a party scene over there but that's perfect for us because the gf and I were looking for a more laid back environment.

I haven't been through all three pages so you may have heard all of this already.

Been to Vegas half a dozen times, and stay at a different place almost each time. My personal fav. was the Hard Rock cause I don't mind staying off of the strip. Pretty decent party scene at all the pools, great German restaurant and P.F. Changs within walking distance. Only knock is lack of a food court/buffet.

I've stayed at both Circus Circus and the Riveria (both the year I turned 21 cause they were cheap) and you get what you pay for, which wasn't much.

Stayed at T.I. (twice) which was a decent price and okay location.

I also stayed at the MGM which was a bit pricier but pretty sweet spot to stay at. Lots of events going on great bars/night clubs right in the hotel.

How about a nice hostel? It's a tad off-the-strip, but it looks like fun:

I]

I agree too but he asked for Vegas value which means cheap. Cosmo is spendy (200-500 a night)but my favorite casino there. Others you mentioned are nice but also spendy so the value isn't there. My suggestion is go to costco buy the 100 credits for 80 bucks and stay at either Bally/RIO or the Flamingo. RIO will shuttle you for free to Bally's then you are right in the middle of all the action. Bally's is cheap to stay at rooms are large and clean and table limits aren't 20 dollar mins. If you want to go super cheap you can slip into Wild Bills AKA barbary coast or OSHEA's. Cosmo, Bellagio, PH, Paris, Ceasars are all accrossed the street.

That is a good review you need to add Cosmo to number 2 or 1B. If you haven't stayed there it is a fun party casino and one of the best pool scenes around with 3 different pools. Chill pool, Party pool and one in between.

If I had to pick a pretty central place I would say Planet Hollywood. Nice rooms almost middle of the strip, couple very nice hotels right next to it(Paris, Ven), a mall underneath it, tables are not crazy expensive.

For me I always try to as close to the middle of the Strip as possible... pretty much just park the car and walk the couple the days we stay there. Paris is nice.. any place on the strip is kind pricey.

Paul Carr did a great 31 Hotels in 31 days in Vegas feature for the Huff Post last year that is actually a great read. The link to this page goes to the last 16 days but the links to the whole diary are on the right hand side with Day One at the bottom. He no longert owns a place to live, he is in hotels the whole time and writes about his experiences.

I just got back from Vegas last week. We stayed at the RIO. The price soley depends on when you are gong and if there are any large venues happening at the hotel or nearby.

We were there for our hockey tournament, but also there was a fight, kentucky derby and some thing with 50cent and some other rappers or whatever. I got the Rio for us for $27 a night thurs and fri and sun night and $87 for sat night. Came to about $180 with tax for the 4 nights. Which is really good. But like I said it all depends on when you go and where you go.

Cheap hotels I've stayed at:

Imperial Palace: yes it isn't the best but it has a great mid-strip location and a monorail station is in the back. It's gotten better since it became part of the caesar's palace group (the buffet used to be horrid - now it is tolerable). If you stay here ask for a room on a lower floor (the elevators are super slow). I like a room in the back on the 1st floor where you don't even have to take an elevator.

Flamingo: like Imperial Palace a great location (right next door). If it is close in price to IP stay at the Flamingo. Flamingo has a good buffet.

Ballys: The rooms are just average. Very underrated buffet (the big kitchen buffet). Good sports book.

Luxor: I've stayed here a couple of times when I've had conferences at Mandalay Bay. There's an indoor mall between the two properties. I ask for a lower floor here, too, and usually get the 1st floor.

South Point: off the strip, big rooms, has a bowling alley. Shuttle can be slow to the strip but otherwise we liked our stay here.

Ameristar here in Colorado is now part of MGM/Mirage (M Life rewards) so you can get deals by being a degen here in Colorado. The Mirage is nice, although I've been spoiled by all the rooms here at Ameristar, so now I just want to stay at the Wynn...The Mirage pool is pretty cool..if you have the $$$ I highly suggest getting a cabana, which has its own private pool for like 15 cabanas...you'll spend a ****load in booze but its definitely worth it.

Otherwise, Harrah's across the street is a pretty good deal, and a good central location ( I think your Harrahs key will get you into all the Harrahs properties pools) and really all you need is clean sheets, free booze, Keno and no dead hookers under the bed.

It really depends, the Tropicana's cabanas are smaller, so the midgets may look larger..and also OShea's shut down, so I am not sure where all the locally employed midgets hang out anymore...anyone know where Mini Kiss plays now that Rockhouse shut down?

I stayed at South Point less than a month ago. It's on the strip but pretty far south. A good 10 minute drive to downtown stuff like MGM, New York New York etc. If you stay during the week, it is worth every penny. I think we paid $59 (not including tax) per night. The only gripe i had was you had to pay extra per night if you wanted a refridgerator in the room. No big deal, i just put the beer in the sink and iced it. The have everything you need in that place...Theater, Bowling alley, Steak N Shake among other resturants...if you want to stay at a nice place for cheap, you wont find a better deal.

Headed to Vegas next month with the old lady. Just wondering what people think of the pools. I'm shopping hotels now to try to get the best deal. Usually go bargain basement hotels in Vegas but want to treat her to a great time at a nice hotel. Renting a car and driving so location really doesn't matter.

I'm thinking Mandalay Bay, Golden Nugget because the price is amazing right now, and the pool looks cool, Monte Carlo, Hard Rock, cuz I use to watch Rehab when it was on and, I don't know, looks kinda cool, is it cool if you don't get a cabana? and Mirage.

Usually stay at the Orleans. It's not pretty, but its cheap and has a great poker room.

With this in mind, go with the Gold Coast which is their sister casino and is not far from the strip. You have Rio and Palms across the street. It isn't on the strip but they have a shuttle to the strip and also to The Orleans. If you go with the Gold Coast, get the updated rooms as they just remodeled them in the last 2 years.
Stories? That is a whole other thread but **** it, here is one. New Years Eve/Night 1997. Cousin is losing his ass at the BJ table at Monte Carlo. He stays on a 15 with the dealer showing a face card and loses $100 on the hand. I told him he ****ed up and don't look at the money bet, play like you would do if there was a $1 out there. He told me to screw off and I went to bed. 8AM comes around and him and his buddy start screaming in the room to 4 of us passed out cold, "Yeah Baby! Check this out! Who's your Daddy?" which he plunks down $16k on the bed. He orders a limo, go to Pahrump and go into Cheri's Lounge (or something like that). 4 of us 6 get $200 each to spend on the ladies. I pass on it (as I never would pay for services ) and watch the Rose Bowl (I think Michigan was playing) instead and wait who comes out first and shows that he blew his wad too quickly. That night was just a ****ing amazing time with dinner, drinks and stories. Not too many stories will ever beat that for me and I have been to Vegas probably 50 to 60 times.

Golden Nugget is pretty nice for being on Fremont St. Those are older casinos. It has a kick ass pool with a slide that goes through an aquarium. And they are remodeling the Golden gate a few doors down. I was in there this weekend and it looked pretty nice. IMO, if you have a car, Fremont St. is the place to stay. Cheap hotels and cheap beer. Had a Suite at the Luxor for 2 nights. Very nice, but at the far end of the strip so kind of crappy there.

Cheap tables which I love, I would rather bleed out slowly :giggle:

Also stayed at Bellagio for 1 night, found a killer deal that included Cirque De Solei tickets which was amazing!!!

Also sat on the patio for the sushi restaurant and had a show witht he water every 15 min which was awesome as well.....

Here's how our trip is gonna go down next month. On Wednesday June 20, gonna rent a car in Colorado. My wife, 2 boys and I will drive to Vegas, with 2 pit stops scheduled. In case anyone needs to make an unscheduled potty break, 5 milk jugs will be provided. A 10 hour trip is my goal. I've done it before, and I won't let stupid bladders screw it up. Spend the night at my sister's apartment in Vegas.

Thursday morning, after adding my sister and niece, will drive to Los Angeles. 1 scheduled pit stop will be in order for that trip. I've never driven from Vegas to LA, but a 3 hour trip is my goal. We will stay at a motel 6. Won't spend much time in the hotel, Tom will leave the light on for us, and they have free HBO. Will spend 3 days in LA, 1 day at the beach, 1 at Knott's Berry Farm, and 1 at Universal Studios. Sorry Disneyland but I'm not spending $400 to stand in line all day. Will then drive to Bullhead City, Arizona, (1 scheduled pit stop) which is right by Laughlin Nevada, and spend 3-4 days with my grandparents. Will Jet ski and boat at Lake Mohave and go sand railin by my grandpa's house in the desert, so that will be a lot of fun.

Will then leave the boys at my grandparents, and the wife and I, as well as my sister and neice, will drive back to Vegas. No pit stops scheduled. Drop my sister off, and the wife and i will spend 2 days by ourselves in Vegas. Doing a pool, and all that fun stuff. Probably do 2 shows. Penn and Teller is my choice for one and she will have a choice for another. But want to spend quite a bit of time at the pool relaxing. Think my gambling will be done at Boulder Station or Barcelona, since those are the ONLY casinos in Vegas that I ever have any kind of success in. I'll drive the extra half hour, I don't care. After that will drive home, with 2 pit stops scheduled and only 3 milk jugs provided.

My grandpa offered to drive the boys home after they spend another week or so with their great grandparents. He is the opposite of me. He will take 3 days and 37 pit stops to get from Bullhead to Colorado. I don't care though, since I won't be riding.

Thinking Mandalay Bay will be the way to go with this. Golden Nugget is my second choice right now. Just can't get over that $68 price tag per night at Golden Nugget.

Spdirty, bring your brother as the WSOP is happening. Some good tournies going on around then. I doubt you will do 3 hours to LA. We did Orange County (Irvine) to border in 3 hours 10 minutes. Too many cops between Vegas and Stateline to go over 75 MPH. Sounds like a plan and Laughlin is good times for a kickback and river fun time.

Oh damn, forgot about the WSOP.

Wow....That's ambitious. My version would be hop flights to vegas and kids can play in vegas. Sounds like grandparents still drive. Party on! Sister and grandparents visit you in Vegas. Rent a house with bad ass pool on www.vrbo.com. Use sisters or grandparents car and plan a trip to lake Mead rent your jet skis and maybe even a house boat for a night or two!

Spend ALL the time you would have been driving truly relaxing and enjoy the vacation. Feel refreshed when you get home instead of totally wiped out!

Milk jugs...lmfao!

Just an idea.

Or forget the kids, wife, and grandparents. Go to vegas and party like AK1971 would. :pimp::orangepim.

Yes, it is unfortunate. Was one of the few places left to grab some beers without paying $8/each. Years ago you could eat and drink well in Vegas for very little. No longer the case.

Agreed. I caught a news snippet about a week or two ago that showed them imploding it.

Went to vegas a couple weeks ago, stayed at Harrah's. The pool key IS good at all other Harrah's pools (caesars, bally's, flamingo, planet hollywood, rio, paris) as mentioned by another poster. If you're going down to gamble and get ****ty, I'd highly recommend Harrah's. Cheap, clean rooms, decent casino, but most importantly location. BEST bar on the strip is right outside (carnival court), and you're right in the mix. Sleeping three per room, we payed $60 per person Total for 3 nights.

Also, you're right next to the Casino Royale, where you can get $2 beers/margs anytime of day, and they have 5 dollar blackjack/craps.

Lastly, went skydiving at skydivelasvegas....WITHOUT A DOUBT THE FUNNEST THING I'VE EVER DONE IN MY LIFE. All for $200. Well, technically, my ass paid $250 cause I just baaaaarely cleared the weight limit of 270. But, for the money, I'm recommending it to any and everyone. Absolutely incredible!!!

Oh, and one more thing. They were going to blow up the parking garage at o'sheas...we were there for the last few minutes before it closed. Sad. However, from what everyone was telling me, the casino itself was supposed to stay in tact.

Unless it is Friday night, not worth it. Drive to the airport, get screened, sit around, board, finally take off and land 45 minutes later, taxi, walk to baggage claim or taxi/shuttle, wait and then 15 minutes minimum arrive at your hotel. NOT WORTH IT! Drive there with your family or buddies in 4 hours (from Irvine) to Las Vegas is about the same time and saves time. Of course you better not leave Vegas at 12noon on Sunday or your time back is ****ed.

Good story: We leave Irvine from Sloppy Joes (or Sloppy Hoes) around 1:30 and head to a supermarket for a case of beer because my cousin (the gambler) decides it is a good idea to head to Vegas. Our Canadian buddy says he knows the manager and can get beer. So when he is taking too long, I go in looking for him and I get a quick snack for the trip. He walks by and out the door. The manager, about 30 seconds later, says to the cashier, "Did that guy just walk out with beer?" I hurriedly get my snack paid for and jump into the unsuspecting waiting (getaway) car of my cousins who has no idea what just happened. Total dickish move since they all could have been busted and of course we had been drinking at Sloppy Joe's so add a DUI to it too. We all drink one before hitting the road and I fall asleep 15 minutes later. 2 hours and 15 minutes later, I wake up and are speeding down the long hill to the border at 95 MPH, 4 beers left and almost to our destination (sometime during their binge, they decided to just go to Buffalo Bills or Whiskey Pete's). So 3 of them consumed 16 beers in that short of time and add one each before we rolled. They had the cruise control set at 95 MPH the whole way. I guess they pissed in a bottle because no way they can stop and make that time. I could make a movie just on all the **** going, being there and driving back from Vegas since 1989 when I started going as a 19 year old.

Vegas to LA is only done in 3hrs and its another 40min to the beach...you better leave earlier than 7ammost to beat the traffic. The beach is an all day affair if the weather is pimpin. Grab some bodyboards at a local rental shack for you andfrom the kids and grab some some sand toyswith a good shovel....dude the beach is better than knotts and whatever else LA and kids have to offer.

Mandalay Bay has 2 pools, if its just you and the wifey go to Hardrock...the flesh covered silicon is amazing and your wife will love the topless soap opera guys...trust me you will bemefit from this later...or in a private cabana...watch out for sand crabs and crabs in general.

Mandalay Bay has an awesome pool but it is full of kids and youll wish you brought them. We rent a poolside cabana for the day chill drinking and watching the tube- easily a 1-2 day event. Each cabana come with 2 waitresses...flirt with these girls...they will be more than happy to bring fresh fruit drinks whateeva.

Gamble but dont forget to sportbook...its the best.

OK i just got back from vegas yesterday so let me update my earlier post......

If you are looking for ON STRIP hotels....... (this is based on COST vs Return)

1. Tropicana Brand new rooms and updated casino......... on the south end of the strip (next to MGM - which has the monorail stop) $50/night on hotwire (4 start strip south)

2. Casino Royale Lower end hotel..... (probably comparable to a red roof inn) but right in the middle of the strip next to harrahs and across from mirage/CP They have 24/7 $1 Michelob and margaritas So if your looking to be in the middle of the strip with a low frills casino with the cheapest drinks anywhere........... stay here (39/night)

3. If you are looking to bump up to the next tier of hotels........... i would recommend something with a monorail stop (MGM, Harrahs, etc.....) though be advised MGM is going through remodeling and half the place is closed down.

4. If u dont mind being a little off strip........ but still having a monorail stop to get you back to the strip in 2 minutes............. try the LVH (used to be las vegas hilton) rooms for 50/day and a nice hotel........... and great buffet/brunch. A little out of the way.......... but with a dedicated monorail stop in the hotel........... the price/luxury cant be beat.

5. If u wanna stay downtown.......... do not stay in anything other than the nugget or 4 queens........... the rest have all become very seedy (unless thats your kinda thing)

If u wanna splurge and go for the top casinos.......... My favorite still is the wynn/Encore BUT they discontinued their shuttle service so its a hefty walk to/from the casino everytime u leave. Caesars Palace is nice too..... but over priced............ the palazzo is amazing but pricey. AVOID Excalibur like the plague............ it smells bad as soon as you walk in.......... and it doesn't get any better.

If u have any specific questions feel free to message me.

Was in Vegas last week, stayed at the Wynn for ~$110/night on Sunday/Monday night. No complaints. Great pool, nice restaurants, and surprisingly, really nice odds for the Broncos to win the superbowl:

TI: 4/1
Mirage: 7/1
Wynn: 14/1

The only downside for us is that the tables start at $15 which is a little more than we'd like, but that's what you get when you stay at the Wynn.

LOL! The worst ever! Add a guaranteed accident along the way and it sucks balls. If you have to do it, when you enter Barstow, take the old route 66 through town and it is the backway to almost Victorville. It is a few miles longer but no traffic. You will need to leave Sunday by 10AM to avoid more traffic then you would like. When it is totally backed up, I take every offramp and then jump back on the onramp. There isnt enough of those for the whole 15 freeway but it gets some time saved and anger relieved for a bit.

I'll leave at 6AM if it'll help with traffic. I thought the LA people went to Vegas on friday and screwed the road up then went back to LA on Sunday which screwed westbound I15 up. So I figured going from LA to Vegas on Sunday would be decent.

It's OK I'll just get the bullhorn and cowbell out Sunday morning if thats what it takes to get the lead out of the family's ass and get moving early Sunday morning.

Monte Carlo isnt bad at all. It isn't the place like it was with a ton of new competition but I believe it was built in the 90s. Clean and still isn't considered cheapo like I would think Excalibur and Circus Circus type of cheapo catagory. You are next to New York New York and across from MGM and Excalibur and Tropicana.

Sometimes I really really really really love my sister. We tag teamed my wife to convince her to do Knott's Berry Farm instead of Disneyland. So in addition to more fun we are saving $250. That's an extra $250 for us gambling in Vegas.

The kicker was when I said I'm waking up at 6 and cracking the bullwhip to get everyone up and ready by 8 when the park opens. She likes to sleep in and that extra 2 hours sleep was the kicker. So happy right now. :-D

What a coincidence. Boobs McGee is trying to marry his "sister". You have such appropriate words to describe the fun with your sister and wife. You in town?
