Who or where does Bowlen get his football knowledge? I think I remember reading somewhere he played HS football but I am not 100% sure of that and doubt he ever played into college.

So where does a guy that claims to have one of the most attractive franchises in the NFL get the idea that he needs to purge the entire FO? Is there a go to guy he consults with when his back is up against the wall and he feels the need to to make football moves?

All these owners are just the front men with the dough. Just because you have money doesn't mean you know football.

A lot has been made of John Elway making Shanny a SB coach and Shanny would not have won without John. I think the same can be said for Bowlen. Elway made this team the attractive franchise that Bowlen feels it is.

I have stood by the Broncos before they ever posted a winning season. We have had a good run the last 13 years, hell even most of the Reeve's years were special.

These changes could put the Broncos back on track for SB runs. They could also set the franchise back 3 to 5 to 10 years or more. Think of Browns, Bungles, Lions, doormat bad.

Who is the guy Bowlen gets his football acumen and guidance from? Who is his mentor?

That looks like a bong.

Little know fact, Nostradamus was arrested in his early 20s thanks to the picture that was painted of him ripping off a huge bong. There were also 8 other people arrested in he incident, even though history shows they found under an ounce of pot. It is also worth noting that he lost his Kellogeux Poridge sponsorship.

I suspect Bowlin is friends with a number of owners and other GMs around the league with whom he discusses things. Moreover, I would imagine there are a few folks like Bobby Turner, Dennison, and Xanders who advised him some. I am most perplexed by the loss of the Goodmans, but we shall see....

He's owned the club for a lot of years, and I would suspect he has some ideas of what he is looking for in his staff and from teh players......

To revive an old stupid idea, maybe Kronke is looking to buy the team......

As long as these changes don't put the Broncos into competition with the Chefs for the division cellar..... but unfortunately, they could.

I think that's true.

That's no insult.

Wear a big smile and walk proud knowing that your org. is no longer happy with "good enough."

You'd become the 90's Chiefs - respected and feared but an afterthought in the postseason.

The Donks and Chiefs have figured out what worked before isn't working. It's time for a change. SD and the Faide haven't...

I may have been a bit off about the whole Wiegman deal.

BTW, I lost a bet to someone on that. If they'll give me a link or bump it I need's ta' honor it...

Actually, I think Pat has a bottle of Scotch that does most of the thinking for him. He relies heavily on this Scotch, and if he runs out, well then, he gets more.

Whoa, whoa, whoa!

Bowlen is no where close to being Jerra Jones. he's much more like Robert Kraft, but with a fifth is his pocket...

We'll see. This is where Pat takes more control. He thinks he knows it all. Why else would he fire all the vets on his staff and replace them with virtual rookies? He thinks he is going to be the man!! Ala Jerry Jones.

Jerry Jones was an All-SWC Guard and the captain of the undefeated 1964 National Champs. Did Bowlen even play college ball?

It's gotta be John. Bowlen holds him in higher regard then almost anybody I can think of. When they won their first championship, he didn't say "this ones for Mike" did he. Think about it.

I thought I read about this.

Jones at least played on a College team before going off and making his dough.
