The above information is as accurate as possible utilising resources such as USA Today salary database, NFLPA, Rotoworld, Denver Post, RMN, CBS, PFW etc.

Cap room is approximately up to date as Ask the Commish currently has Denver at the $34m under mark, In my opinion they have not included Bly‘s reported option bonus, futures contracts signed recently nor the upcoming pay rises for Marshall, Kuper, Scheffler and Dumervil.

wow 13 mil for champ? not worth that much...thats 1/7 of the salary on a cornerback.

If he's re-signed that number will plummet. Longer contracts help with keeping the cap hit low.

Bly is a goner.

Great info thanks for posting it. One small error I found was in the Dead Money for 2009, I think you meant Garrett Hartley instead of Hackney.

God that would be great.

yea because there are so many better, readily available #2 cornerbacks that we can get to replace him. theres a reason even champ got burned, no pressure and horrible scheming to make up for lack of pressure will do that.

What a great post. My aunt passed away this morning so I keep trying to keep my mind off of that, this post really helped. A lot of numbers to think about. I couldn't believe Niko get's paid more than Jay. Again thanks for a great detailed post

Bly is a goner.

If we cut Bly won't his salary cap hit for 2009-2011 be on the books this next year? That would be something like 9 million in dead money if I am reading that correct?

Champ Bailey $13.187m

That's a number that should be held by Cutler. Not a cornerback on the downside of his years.

I love Champ and I know we are under the cap, but it seems to me that those dollars should be on Jay & Brandon.

His real number should be around $10m or so but we kept pushing money back via restructuring his deal to sign **** free agents.:giggle:

SALARY CAP CLIMBS EVEN HIGHER
Posted by Mike Florio on February 25, 2009, 8:16 p.m.
On a day that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers added more than $12 million to a salary cap bulge that already exceeded $50 million, the Bucs and every other team unexpectedly picked up another $4 million.

According to Adam Schefter of NFL Network, teams were informed that the salary cap will move from $123 million to $127 million.

The increase comes from a tweak in the CBA, which increases the cap if teams didn’t spend close enough to the limit in 2008.

The increase in the spending maximum also increases the mandatory spending minimum by more than $3 million.

From a competitive standpoint, teams who were pressed against the prior maximum have gotten some relief. And the agents for free agents and for players already under contract will surely do their best to get some of that money diverted to their clients.

Top 51 on roster = $86.927m

* Brandon Marshall/Chris Kuper and Casey Wiegmann’s base salaries have been increased as per playing time incentives hit in 2008 and have been recorded as per NFLPA above.

* Jay Cutler may well be due another $2m in bonuses in the form of $1.9m for hitting at least 1 top 5 passing category last season and $100k for reaching the Pro-Bowl-will be updated-have been already added to his cap figure.

* Correll Buckhalter and Andra Davis’ cap hits are estimates based on total contract worth and the fact Buckhalter's deal should be similar to Arrington's.

Broncos Signing/Roster/Option Bonus payouts in the following years.

2008 $58m
2009 $39.7m allocated thus far

The above information is as accurate as possible utilising resources such as USA Today salary database, NFLPA, Rotoworld, Denver Post, RMN, CBS, PFW etc. PFT and Mike Florio in particular had the Broncos at $16.3m under the cap prior to the draft so there may be some discrepancies in the above info due to unreported incentives which automatically hit this season due to the uncapped year in 2010.

Cap room is approximately up to date as RMN (Lee Rasizer) had Denver at $35m under in total contracts for 51 players as at 16 February 2009 not including LTBE incentives or earned incentives such as Marshall's/Cutler's pay raise which I have included and the LTBE of $4.115m that Louis Green did not reach. Max salary cap increased by a further $4m as per NFL decision, new salary cap=$127.05m
