everyone has a song that they love, that changed them, or that takes them back to a place that is special to them. So what is the one song that is "your song"?

I have lots of them (listen to music all the time)...

1. Motley Crue, "Girls, Girls, Girls"- My sisters could not stand the music but I loved it....led to a life of heavy metal (I know they are hair metal but it's a start).
2. Rollins Band-LSO-Always liked the way Rollins is just screaming....one of the songs I use to listen to before games.
3. Pantera-Walk....besides Broken, my favorite song, again, I used to listen to this before all games in HS and College.
4. Faith No More- Small Victories....don't know why but it always reminds me of a damn long car ride....
5. Nirvana-Smells Like Teen Spirit. It was such a different sound....

These music forums here always show the same thing. People feel like they have to apologize for something they like because the "serious music fans" are going to come in and make fun of them for it.

Motley Crue was ****ing great. Why apologize dude? What a fun time in the history of music and the bar scene was never more celebratory.

The tier 2 and tier 4 Hair Bands like White Lion were a bit silly but Motley Crue was cool for a long time. "I know they are hair metal"?? So what. It was cool and alot of fun.

Music is music. I like it all and am so grateful my tastes are that way.

First song that pumped me up in a freakout energy way?? Aerosmith Back in the Saddle from 1976, when I was 11. That song was so cool to me. Still has a great effect on me.

Loved the Seattle scene so much, a ton of those tunes had me pumped beyond belief. But it was Lenny Kravitz's "Always on the Run" from 1991, NOT A GRUNGE SONG, that was my favorite of that time period. Great funky beat, with a great soslo from Slash.

The first song that made me feel mushy high school love stuff? "I Love You" by the Climax Blues Band. Greatest love song ever for me. Still has that effect on me today.

I have many "favorite" songs through the years, but the one song that has affected me is "Angel Eyes" by the Jeff Healy Band. It's about finding love when you're a "less than perfect" physical specimen. Healy (who just died last year) was blind. I'm not blind, but I walk with a noticeable limp. I just identify with that song very much. In fact, that was my "first dance" song at my wedding reception last year...

Ice Ice Baby - just reminds me how cool I thought I once was!

Runaway Train by Soul Asylum - reminds me of my brother, always seemed to be running away.

Rap songs from the 90's - I was really into rap back then. Don't really care for it too much anymore. Strange.

Metallica, Metallica - Brings back memories of high school football. That's all we had blasting in the weight room.

I probably have a million others. Those are just the highlights!

Funny story: When that song first came out, it was the first time my little brother 'found love'. I hate Meatloaf. Did anyone see that fat bastage on the DirecTv special a few years ago? He was uber dramatic about everything. And is it just me, or are all of his songs about 1) 14 minutes long, with 2) the same lines repeated over and over and over and over and over again?

Dont Come Around Here No More - Tom Petty
Someday you'll accompany me - Bob Segar
Rocky Top - Lynn Anderson (among others but this version specifically)
Bad Moon Rising - CCR

Those four songs make me think of childhood.

Every Rose Has Its Thorn - Poison
Whats Love Got To Do With It - Tina Turner

Those two songs remind me of the first time I felt mushy for a girl. Tina Turner's Whats Love got to do with it was playing at the roller skating rink when I met my first puppy love. Every Rose Has Its Thorn was playing when I laid wood on my first puppy love.

Broken - Pantera
Call of Ctulu- Metallica

My first two favorite heavy metal songs. Broken made me want to punch Taco in the face and I didnt even know Taco then. Call of Ctulu is still my favorite instrumental of all time.

Highland Cathedral - (???)

This bagpipe instrumental is what was played at my wedding as me and the new wife walked down the isle.

1st time I sat in Music Appreciation class and listened with the score to the 2nd movement of Beethovens 7th symphony it really did spark a life long love of music. It felt like I was one with the Universe.

Laugh if you must.

Don Henley's Dirty Laundry clicked with me, followed up by Boys of Summer. I went out and bought syths after the Perfect Beast came out.

Everytime I hear Siegfrieds theme from the Ring cycle my heart beats faster and harder.

I also remember when I 1st got both the Beatles and much later the Stones. Those were eureka moments. It means more because I never blew weed so I think it took me longer than my pot head friends.

GnR's sweet child O' mine.
Black crows, sting me, Remedy

I got into many arguments with my friends that Iron Maiden was better than Motley Crue (killers and the self titled albums)

Then Pearl jam (anything from the first album)

Now its Revis "Caught in the rain"

Also, sad to say.....Britny Fox, girl school. There song "In America" is still cool to this day.
