not food grade Tankers , they cant have baffles , crude oil , Gas , etc . can and do have baffles ........
food grade tankers are referred to as smooth bore
Non potable water , or other non human consumption liquids are baffled tankers

;D I have pulled both types ........ Baffled ones are alot better , you dont get the surge when you try to stop .........
Most dangerous loads I have pulled ...
1. Swinging beef out of Monforts of Colorado , you can lay a truck over just by hitting a curb , or taking a corner a little to sharp , once you get that beef to rocking it is over, or changing lanes to fast .....
2. Milk for MEDA , it isnt real bad once you get used to the " Surge" but until you do look out .....
3. Hauling livestock , this is a b**** ...... no more of that crap ....
4. the oversize stuff I do now , this stuff is tricky , but as long as you pay attention shouldnt have to many problems ;D

Maybe after he passes Mock, Spider will stop with his daily threads about what he is up to.

Imagine if every poster started a thread like this every day....

Carry on....I just felt like poking Spider with a stick....he getting ready to pass Mock and from now until then, it will be a roast of sorts.

:wiggle: . what can I say ... I love my work ....every day is an adventure out here , like last night , the Manager at the petro here got into a fist fight with a local here who was drunk and begging Drivers for money , the Manager asked this guy to leave and this guy attacked him ........ Dinner and live entertainment ;D

I used to go to El PAso to ride go carts and cross the border to Juarez for the dog races. It was fun. My first taste of Tecate! ;)
I worked at New Progress tank and we built all kinds of tanks for OTR but they all had baffles in them I cannot imagine hauling one without baffles. Sounds like the swinging beef is pretty freaky!

;D it gets tough ... but according to DOT , you cant get baffles clean enough for human consumption ..........Swinging beef has caused more accidents and injuries to truckers , then any other kind of freight ...... I dont know of a single company that does swinging beef any more

"Sometimes when I feel like killing someone, I do a little trick to calm myself down. I'll go over to the persons house and ring the doorbell. When the person comes to the door, I'm gone, but you know what I've left on the porch? A jack-o-lantern with a knife stuck in the side of it's head with a note that says "You." After that I usually feel a lot better, and no harm done"

For 55 dollars?

Usually for $60 you get a massage with the hand job....at least it was 10 years ago.

I think the prices have jumped to $80 since then.

When I was younger, I used to work for a company that investigated employee theft at all the Flying J truck stops across the country.

I have been to almost all of them.

They do have pretty clean bathrooms.

Talking about Flying Js kind of makes me want one of their Big Buddy Burgers right now....we used to shop/evaluate all their restaurants as well and got reimbursed for all of our food expenses.

I basically lived the life of a truck driver when I worked there....without actually driving a rig.

Go from truck stop to truck stop for weeks on end.

Some of the newer Flying Js were really nice and then there were the older ones like the hole in the wall in Julesburg, Colorado.
