Didn't the stock market know this was going to happen today, yesterday?
Hasn't the stock market been fluctuating wildly for a couple of months?
Yeah it's because Obama took office today. The stock market thought Bush was going to save them on his last day, how I do not know.

I believe its because he flubbed the Oath of Office. But I blame Bush it was his Supreme Court Nominee that clearly embarrassed Barry and thus plummet the market.........

The economy goes to hell all the sudden and he is too busy moving furniture into his rent free home. Mean time hard working Americans are being foreclosed on and moving into alleys and shelters. Pathetic IMHO

Anyone see Dick Cheney in a wheelchair? Typical bum tactic, fake an injury on the way out after being fired just to collect workers comp. Shameful.

They're bracing for the impending capital gains tax increase by selling before that becomes part of the 'stimulus' bill, IMO.

Well, he did say there was going to be fairness and oversight. That should send the greedy cockroaches running for their holes.

Is that going to happen? Where did you hear that? Or is that just an educated guess? That would be a sneaky way of taxing the middle class but saying you didn't.

Oh my dear faithful to the Republican party conservative.....you must find away to show patients for the next 8 years! And while doing so, please continue to waste time reverting back to the true nature of what the GOP is truly about.
Let the monolithic Republican Congress circle the wagons and commence with the circular firing squad, the bickering, the smearing, and the propaganda of the failed Republican ideology reveal itself for the next 4-8 years. After all, what else does the Shrinking Republican party have left to do.
Here's one for Republicans and Bush loyalist to ponder or consider.....do you think the stock market would soar if the Wall Street crooks and thieves were indicted if found guilty of corruption and sent to prison?
Would the stock market soar if by next month the entire Bush Admin suddenly had to answer subpoenas and show up at congressional hearings?
Would the stock market soar if Bush and Cheney were put on trial for torture and war crimes?
Would the stock market soar if suddenly America returned to a nation who honored the rule of Law???
Just something Neocon Republicans should consider.
Lastly Doroth, don't you think its time for reflection from the 90 plus million of Republican voters to wonder in retrospect, of how the conservative voters could have so misjudged DUBYA to have elected him not once but twice!!!
How is it that Republican voters, seeing the mismanaged war launched and excessive spending and trillion dollar deficits well on its way by the end of Bush’s first term, could have voted him back into office?
Stock Market be Damned........Obama must cleanup the horrific mess left to him from a Bush Admin. who had grand goals of robbing the treasury while enriching the oil cartels, wall street, and the richest 1-3% of the wealthy in America over the last 8 years.
Some how Obama must reach down and extend a hand of forgiveness and empathy to be President for and of over 90 million republican voters who were asleep at the switch for Electing DUBYA twice.

Well, the greedy b*stards need adult supervision, and they fear it so they are bailing out. Sort of like a bunch of drunken teenagers fleeing before the cops get there.
Poor, poor neocons and other repugnicans and other stupid nutjobs...... They are going to have a tough 8 years. And I will enjoy every minute of it.....

You really think investors are that stupid? Banking woes and a host of other factors drive consumer confidence, not a presidential inaugaration everyone knew was coming.
Sadly it turns out what is good for America is bad for Wall Street. That is how twisted things have become over the last 8 years.

this might surprise you but I'll be happiest if gold drops to around$ 500 an oz. because that will mean issues of my greatest concerns will have been resolved.

The surest way to increase the value of the stock in a company is to
fire a bunch of the workers at that company.

While that is true, recently we have ner to for elements affecting the markets such as governmental favoritism and orchestrated bubbles

Show me a bubble and I'll show you a crash. No more bubble economies!!! We have got to find a way to bring back manufacturing jobs from China and other 3rd world countries.
