With Larry Fitzgerald absolutely dominating the opposition this post-season, it's yet ANOTHER reminder of Oaklands absolute failure at drafting, especially in recent history.

2004 draft
#2 overall Robert Gallery
#3 overall Larry Fitzgerald

2005 draft
Pick traded for Randy Moss
Potential picks had pick been kept:
Antrel Rolle
Shawn Merriman
Demarcus Ware

2006 draft
#7 overall Michael Huff
#11 overall Jay Cutler

2007 draft
#1 overall Jamarcus Russell
#2 overall Calvin Johnson
#3 overall Joe Thomas

2008 draft
#4 overall Darren McFadden
#10 overall Jerod Mayo
#12 overall Ryan Clady
#18 overall Joe Flacco
--------------------------------

Without an inept Al Davis making these calls, Oakland could be an insanely scary team with an offense that could be featuring the likes of:

Cutler
Fitzgerald, Calvin Johnson
Clady

And a number of other extremely potent players on both sides of the ball.

Three cheers for the crypt keeper!

We all pray for a long, long, long, life for Al. I have to wonder though how good some of those players he picked might have been on another team and if those he didn't pick might have floundered also in Oakland. The team seems to have no organization and no consistency in anything.

2008 draft
#4 overall Darren McFadden
#10 overall Jerod Mayo
#12 overall Ryan Clady
#18 overall Joe Flacco

They were talking about this on the radio yesterday, especially the drafting of McFadden when they had Bush and Fargas, saying the average shelf-life of a RB was 4 years, and they were going to all overlap.

With their coaching staff? Clady certainly and probably yes to CJ too.
