View Full Version : Will we still OWN the Pats now that Shanny's gone?

OK...yes we got owned this year by them with our horrible D but most of the time Shanny dominated Belicheat...or was in the more like the Broncos who dominated the Pats? Now that he's gone and we have their OC as our new HC and will probably have Capers on the defensive side of the ball as well...will we still have their number? McDaniels knows their system inside out...then again they know his too.

Yea or Nay?

Depends if Brady is back.

I see your point, but I'd rather own the Chiefs, Raiders and Chargers year in and year out. If we steal one or two from the Patriots when we play them, that's all the better...

I'd only worry about owning this division again....

Last time we actually owned the PATS was when Shannon was calling for the National Guard.

Seeing they smashed us with their backup QB this year, I'm not so sure we owned them anymore with Shanny.

We owned them before hand. I don't see why that changes in a cosmic sense.

Well, remember our QB crushed his hand. Had to come out and two plays later our Backup broke his elbow, and then the mother of all blows...our corner tears his groin after controlling Randy Moss..

The first game of the AFL was the Broncos owning the Pats. Since then we've owned them before and after Elway. Shanahan didn't own them this last year. I think we'll be fine. Some teams just struggle against other teams. The Chargers own the Colts, the Colts own us and We own the Patriots.

Fixed it for ya.

BTW, the Chargers own us too, as much as I hate to admit it.

Shannon wasn't still playing for the Broncos in 2006.

I have a feeling all our "shanny" trends will be gone. But in some cases that's a good thing. Like repeatedly laying eggs against ****ty teams like the dolphins and chiefs.

People forget too that John Elway spent an entire 16 games in his career beating the PAtriots. And knocked them out of the playoffs like 3 times

Last year was an aberration regarding the dominating of the Pats.

Or the late season nose dives.

Why?

Why?

Because this was discussed in another thread and basically proved to be a myth. The Broncos record the second half of the season is better than their first half over the last ten years. Their record in December is better than their record in November too. It's not great but we have only one December below .500 and that was this last one.

Then the people that made the claim changed their argument to say they meant playoffs. Obviously that criticism is valid considering we've gone several times, won once, and been humiliated three times, but that's not what the original point was.

Regardless, we don't melt down late in the season like many have come to believe. It's one of those myths that is repeated so much that people "know" it to be true when it's not. Sort of like Golf being an acronym for "Gentleman only women forbidden". It's total BS but it sounds good so people nod their heads and repeat it.

Interesting. Learn something new everyday.

Do you remember which thread? Did someone actually breakdown the W/L?
