Just Shanahan? Someone told me the entire defensive staff was fired? Forgive my ignorance, but I won't rest until I read that Slowik is gone.

Slowik is gone, Capers and Nolan are taking his place. Dennison is most likely gone, crossing my fingers hoping that Turner and Bates stay.

Everybody in the coaching staff pretty much. A few offensive coaches were not actually fired by McDaniels will be able to let them all go and replace them if he wants to. The front office is unchanged.

Is there a link? The team site still shows Slowik on the staff...

The team officially filed termination papers on all assistents except the ones on offense that Bowlen would prefer to keep. So Bates, Turner, Dennison, and Tuten are still on the payroll.

Everyone else is bye bye with Johnson the DL coach already getting a job in New Orleans.

LOL That's the first and last time I bet that I'll see de-virginizing used with the term "glow".

Well we have learned one thing. They don't update the website frequent enough. They had Powell on PUP long after the window closed. So I wouldn't trust the website.

He must have pics of somebody. Simply no other way to explain it.

Is there a link? The team site still shows Slowik on the staff...No one has been officially fired. But there were credible reports that the search committee planned to ask the new coach to give consideration to Dennison, Bates and Turner ... pending their interviewing with the new coach. That's the real scoop, Khan.

Also saw an article from about a year ago where McDaniels talked about having met Jeremy Bates someplace, a scout combine or something, and he liked him - said he was really smart.

I haven't seen anything official on Capers... Nolan however is said to be the next DC. I don't have the link handy but it's on Rotoworld.

There was also a story that said two league sources confirmed that temination papers had been filed for all but the above coaches. Stupid work is getting in the way of me getting the story though.

Someone's been fired because Johnson was hired by New Orleans. You can't hire someone if they're still under contract.

Nope, Shanahan was the only firing announced ... you can always release a guy from his contract.

Gawd I'm glad we released Johnson ;D

That would be a scoop ... but why would they do that unless McDaniels has signed off on it? Maybe he did.

Bill Johnson wasnt fired. He was on the list of coaches that were "urged" to be retained.

OK.
the Broncos have sent termination notices to the league office for all assistants except Dennison, Jeremy Bates (quarterbacks), Jedd Fisch (receivers), Bobby Turner (running backs), Bill Johnson (defensive line) and Rich Tuten (strength and conditioning).
I'm actually disappointed to see Tuten on the list. I think his regimen is a part of why we frequently lead the league in soft tissue injuries.

Channel 9 is reporting that Johnson has accepted a job with New Orleans. He could be released from his contract without being fired. Really doesn't matter. Good news is: he's gone & it apparently won't cost us anything.

I dont remember him on that list Alec. As Apa pointed out only Bates/Dennison/Turner were ones that Bowlen wished to be retained. He gave all other coaches permission to interview elsewhere.

Just so you all know, the team site has removed all coaches from the staff directory save two:
Greg Saporta - Assistant Strength and Conditioning
Rich Tuten - Strength and Conditioning
http://www.denverbroncos.com/page.php?id=96

So we can finally say Slowick is gone. :) :peace: :bronxrox:

You would think they would keep the names of the assitants they wanted to keep like Dennison, Bates, and Turner. Hmmmmmmm

Although there is an asterix saying assistant coaches pending McDaniel evaluation.
