Just heard that Romeo Crennel could be in the mix as well. I am confused on this. NFL Network just reported.

We need an attack aggressive scheme, not Nolan's read and react crap, we already know where that approach has gotten us.

Romeo always sounds like he has a loogie (sp?) caught in his throat and needs to cough it up.

I think Schefter was probably aggrivated that he got scooped on the McDaniels hiring and went running to his blog to post something about Nolan so that he didn't look left out of the party.

Bring Crennel in too...Why not? And it's too bad Mangini got a job; he would have made a good defensive quality control coach.

I'm wondering if Capers is the new DC and these other guys are going to be his assistants. Capers fits the attack style 3-4 more than Nolan does.

Sources: Nolan Heading To Denver
The National Football Post has just been informed that former San Francisco 49ers head coach Mike Nolan has officially been hired as the defensive coordinator of the Denver Broncos.

The Broncos continue their coaching overhaul as the Nolan hiring comes just one day after Denver hired former New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels to be their new head coach.

Nolan went 18-37 as the head coach of the 49ers.

More on this story as it develops.

I dont really care for the read and react defense either, but Capers runs an aggressive defense, so maybe we will be more aggressive if he is on the staff

I imagine it's speculation. I don't ever remember Adam being wrong on the Broncos, so I'm inclined to believe Nolan is coming. Capers could be coming as well and it isn't out of the realm of possiblity that Romeo could be on the staff as well to coach the DL.

How's this? (I know, not too likely)

DC: Mike Nolan
DL Coach: Romeo Crennel
LB Coach: Bill Romanowski
Secondary Coach: Dom Capers

I don't want Romo anywhere near the team. He was great and everything I love in a real linebacker, but he was MUCH more "drugged-up-pitbull" than "technician". 75% of what he could teach our linebackers would result in a quick league suspension.

I agree, more than anything I thought it's be a funny throw-in. With that, I think Romo made some really good points as far as strength, conditioning and nutrition go. I have no doubt that if the Broncos (or any other team) made the commitment that "we're going to be the most in-shape, well-conditioned team in the league" and went over and beyond in doing so - they would see huge benefits. The fact Brandon Marshall was eating Double Whoppers before games tells me a lot.

I personally blame Kaylore for this entire thing. Kaylore leaves the 'mane for his wedding of all things for a few weeks and Shanahan gets fired and we bring some kid as HC who still wakes up in the morning popping zits in the mirror.

Was it worth it Kaylore you bastid!!!????

I personally expect Kaylore to do double duty this training camp to make up for it.

DenverPost says that it's Nolan

http://www.denverpost.com/broncos/ci_11434955

"In his first task as head coach, Josh McDaniels may conjure up ex-Broncos to fill his coordinator positions.

Mike Nolan, the former San Francisco 49ers head coach who was part of Dan Reeves' defensive staff in Denver from 1987-92, has agreed to become the Broncos' new defensive coordinator once contract details are finalized."

Yeah its worrisome but I think more names will be brought in that will ease the worry. Think if he can get Romeo Crennel, who is a great assistant coach regardless of his failure at HC. And if they can land McDermott from the Eagles who is a Jim Johnson deciple. Thats one hell of a staff.

That's only because we're all gun-shy of DC's now.

Let's just hope the FO opens the coffers and hits the draft hard and really gives him the tools to succeed. A few playmakers on that side of the ball can go a LONG ways for our D and for our ST.
