The Shannahan dismissal has been rather tough on my once beautiful sleeping habits and I sure hope that Mr. Pat Bowlen can find his "10" as well as the Superbowl much sooner than later.

The thought ran through my head that good old sleazy Al Davis really screwed us over firing Lane Kiffin as early in the season as he did. Taking a look at the "magnificent 7" we have interviewed- I would have been much happier to hire Lane Kiffin and have him bring his daddy Monte along to run the defense than any other possible coaching combination that is currently plausible. No matter what happened throughout the season Kiffin would have undoubtedly been fired and would have been a great candidate to replace Shannahan.

Just a random thought at how Al Davis is getting a bit of revenge on the Broncos albeit unknowingly....

i think lane kiffin belongs in the college ranks, and i doubt we ever see him in the NFL again.

A very interesting point. I still prefer McDaniels though.

And, uh, the Raiders beat us.

I've never thought that Lane had potential to be a great coach but a solid one? Maybe.

But, when you talk about the possibility of his pops being part of the deal, then you really have to think about it.

I thought Kiffen did a decent job in Oakland given the circumstances. More seasoning in the college ranks would probably do him some good though. Personally wouldn't shock me to see him back in the NFL someday.

It would'a been cool to win a SB with Kiffen next year if that didn't kill Al don't know what would.

i would not have minded Kiffin. Oakland's record didn't show it, but that team improved a lot under Kiffin.
had the Cryptkeeper let him work the team his way, and bring in coaches he could work with, Oakland could have become competitive in this division with him coaching.
