I mean, it's hard to do. I'm not going to buy a jersey or grow my hair like Polamolu.
But, i'm just sayin.
I hope they kick the **** out of the Chargers.
I almost couldn't even take it when the latest SI showed up on my doorstep.

Yes, I want that Palumalo hair flying around destroying things, especially Rivers.

I was tempted to buy a terrible towel this week, but then I realized it's pointless, the NFL is determined to make the Chargers the story book team like the Giants last year. Watch the game and see Troy get 18 def. P.I calls, and that will just be the start of it. I wish the Hochilli thing never happened

While the officiating was definitely Charger-friendly last weekend, I don't know that they'll enjoy similar benefit on the road. I'd really like to see Polamalu get at least one pick-6. ;D

Not really. I would kind of like to see the AFC West representative make some serious noise in the playoffs. Besides, I'm happy for Darren Sproles...as long as he's not running all over the Broncos...

Steelers fans are decent. I remember meeting a bunch of them when they played us in the AFC Championship game in 05. For the most part, they were really good guys - talked some smack, but didn't get all "California fan" about it.
Sorry Californians, but there seems to be a lot of douches out there who don't know how to talk smack without making it personal.

Steelers fans aren't bad, they're mostly good fun to mess with, I talked w/ a lot of them during tailgating at the AFC Championship in 2005 as well.
There is no way I want to see the chargers succeed because that means Rivers Succeeds. I do like Sproles though, you gotta giev it to the 5'6" guy that goes for 300+ total yards in the playoffs! (Even though it was against the Colts, it aint happening this weekend)

Go Pittsburgh this weekend.
I would love to see Phillip get smacked around.

I'd have to agree.
But, it's largely because the douche-bags in question aren't the core fans. The thugs at Raiders games are just that. The new "fans" at Chargers games were nowhere to be found a few years ago, and just hopped on the bandwagon as a way to buy gear and act like gangstas.
49ers fans are decent, though that's still a place you have to be a little careful.
I grew up going to Blues/Blackhawks games in St. Louis and watching people talk major **** and it rarely got physical. It was just part of the deal. You won't find many rivalries bigger than that one, but the fans of both teams are pros.
There were a lot of Patiots fans at Invesco when I went... but I didn't see any of them being abused.
California fans are pretty weak, in general.

No way... I want San Diego to lose miserably in the Super Bowl... I want it to be an embarrassment...
But more than that, I want them to be in, and lose the superbowl so they get the 31 pick in the Draft!!!
That would sure sting to go from #16 to #31, AND to lose miserably in the Superbowl...

Buying a terrible towel is pointless, but not for the reasons that you stated.

Never liked that excuse.
I've been all over the country and plenty of cities have plenty to do. Denver? New York?!? Two of the best football towns in the world and both offer GOBS to do in a short drive. (Or train ride.)
CA fans just suck. It has nothing to do with there being other things to do. It's just not a better sports state, in general. There ARE some great fans here, but as a whole... it pales in comparison to the great sports towns.
That's a myth I think needs to be put to bed, personally.

Me either, people are just bandwagoners always will be here.
Good fans here and there, but we have nothing on other towns, NY, NE, ect....

Many of these other cities kind of "came of age" with their football franchises. Denver is a great example. The city's identity for the longest time was Denver Broncos football. It's never been like that in San Diego. The Chargers are just something to do when they happen to be winning over there. Otherwise, their fan base dries up. They don't really identify with the Chargers there the way a Pittsburgh, or Denver, or Chicago identify with their football franchises.
Hell, I remember when we'd go literally months without seeing a Charger fan around here.

San Diego is not a franchise that deserves to win a Superbowl. You can't root for them like you might if you saw the Browns or the Bengals - or hell, even the Chiefs - in the game.

No, like what kind of cell phone do you or what kind of car so you drive.
Where do you eat, how much money do you make, how big is your rack, how much did your purse cost, where so you shop.
You know things that really matter in life.

Being a Western PA boy at heart I always root for the Black and Gold if the Broncos aren't in the mix. I just hope Tomlin has the sense to yank Ben if he looks like he isn't 100%. I remember the craptastic game he had coming off his last concussion. Hope the Steelers embarrass the Chuggers.

Steelers fans are fine until your team wins. I was at the 97 AFC Championship game with my Broncos gear. Took some verbal abuse before the game (as to be expected) but once the game was over I felt like the President being escorted out of a room after shots were fired. Suddenly I was the reason for everything bad that happened in every "yinsers" life (that's what the idiot Steelers fans are called in Pittsburgh). Still one of the best experiences of my life.

i have no problem with the Steelers or their fans. for the most part they are similar to Broncos fans in the sense that they are loyal to their team no matter what, unlike California fans.
also, i want to see Pittsburgh completely destroy SD. and if the officiating isn't raping Pitt they should destroy Rivers.
