We've also had day after day after day of snowstorms... officially 71 inches of snow in the month of December (measured at the Spokane airport; we're higher elevation than Spokane, so probably got significantly more than that).

I really wonder if people really know how to make good horror, or even if people will really enjoy it.

Like it or Hate it - i saw the first Blair Witch in the theatre. I'm not going to lie and say the first, what 60min of them bitching about being lost, etc - didn't get old/annoying. But the odd events, the mystery - all the way to the bad assed ending were great horror elements. To close the movie in that way was awesome.

But so many people bitched, that they didn't get to SEE the blair witch.

I really think most people really killed their imagination.

My only issue with Blair Witch was the occasional sea sickness caused by the motion of the camera. The concept was good though.

The pre movie marketing that alleged the film to be an actual documentary based upon real events was brilliant as well. They had a lot of people duped into believing that before it was revealed otherwise.

For all it's flaws, I still like the movie. Maybe that's because it has that amaturish D.I.Y./Ed Wood type of element to it that always appeals to me (must be because I'm not a big horror guy at all).

Well if these are your friends, they aren't really friends. I have coworkers like that, but my friends are pretty kind, whatever makes me happy (unless it is illegal, painful, destructive or really immoral) is usually okay with them. I hope your post is not indicative of your friends. :flower:

Actually it is!!!

Don't get me wrong, not all of my friends are like this. But really, some people want you to join them on the misery train, or some like to be better than you. They may not admit it, but it's true.

I'm going through a situation now, where i'm being given advice - however - their POV is showing the rift in their life.

Just an interesting observation, and they aren't any less "friends" - it's just an understanding of them as people.

It's true and I have had friends like that, but ultimately when it came down to it, because I did the heavy lifting in our friendship while still listening to their downer stuff, I finally decided moving on was better for all of us.

Last Wednesday, our son was playing pool in town... when he got ready to leave, he found out that the driver's side window of his car was smashed and the door was open. If he'd had spare keys hidden in the car, it probably would have been stolen. Fortunately, a replacement window was available at a wrecking yard and another one of our sons knew how to replace the window.

But then Monday night, our daughter had to work late and when she went to drive home, she found that both rear tires were completely flat. Someone had slashed 3 of her brand-new studded snow tires that she just paid $400 for in late December. :(
