I don't care who you get for HC or even DC but you better find a way to steal this guy away from duh bears!
Toub has had consistent success for the 5 years he has been there. Whether he has Hester or Manning returning they are successful and supply a weak Offense with excellent field position.
Many times Duh Bears start at the 40 or even mid field and cannot get points off those drives. Just think what our O could do with that FP!
We have talent in Royal and maybe Jackson, both have speed near Hester and certianly Manning. Draft a Returner if you don't want to use Royal.
Plus both FG and Punters have been very solid under Toub. We need a good ST coach to mentor both our below avg kickers.
Make it happen or I will consider you a worthless drunk!

Not going to happen.

O'Brien's resume was very similar when the Broncos picked him up. Talent is a big part of these things......moreso than coaching.

We already have one of the better ST coaches in the league. Our problem is not coaching, it's a lack of talent in backups that normally play special teams.

The Bears might be the only team built around its special teams. LOL

That is because they have a DC as HC. Lovie and Turner don't know how to push the ball downfield.

No ones job should be safe now. Bowlen wanted change, MAKE IT.

The special teams for the Broncos have been poor for awhile now. I also think it's due to the players than the coaching, at this point at least. I just don't think Shanahan took any unit serious other than the offense for the last decade or so.

my understanding was the Shanny didn't want to play anything but scrubs on special teams, with the exception of Champ when things got ridiculous. And think of how many times Champ was the last guy standing, jeez....

I agree, Shanny felt he could drive for a score from any point on the field. They had some big plays 93 yard pass to royal and some nice 85+ yard drives but a lot of 3 and outs also.
The fact is it will take at least 2 years to rebuild the D.
Fix the ST's and keep the O as is and we gain a game or 2 and contend.
The other thing Duh bears were good at were stopping returns and putting the opposition in bad FP.
We do that with a marginal D and we have a better chance at winning

For some strange reason, I think this will be the new coach's decision - not Bowlens. :wiggle:

Yep. It's unreal how many people don't get how things work.

If he came here, I wonder if he could bring Devin Hester.
I realize he's under contract. But maybe we could hire him as a coach?
He could be given the title of, I don't know, Assistant Head Coach - Designated On-Field Return Consultant, or something. That way, he could return kicks for us, and tell the younger players how he did it after each return.
Let's start thinking outside the box here.

We don't need a piecemeal coaching staff. A head coach who's worth having is going to (rightfully) want his own people in place.

Maybe your right but as Pat said it is the Pat Bowlen Center on the dove valley building.
