Here is the link for the video of the second part. I couldn't find the blog. He really doesn't reveal anything we didn't already know, but you get the feeling he is leaning on taking a year off, which I think he should do.

However, this is one of the more personal interveiws I have seen of Shanny. He really seemed to be at peace and relaxed, unlike a typical press conference he used to deliver. Maybe this will be good for all concerned after all.

Ugh... great interview. Right now I'm just happy that SD won to buy Norval another season and keep Mike away from that football team.

Take the year off mike than come back as the Broncos HC and let someone else worry about all the rest of the business. you are not going to find a better deal.

Didn't Holmgren and Shanny each become this one man band (HC/GM) about the same time? Seems to me they were the first two to do it successfully...

Holmgren relinquished his GM duties, why couldn't Shanny?

Trevor Pryce, Al Wilson, Champ Bailey, John Lynch

Al's probably the only one that will miss the Hall, due to injury.

That has been BY FAR my biggest fear. I was really happy to see them win. They'll lose next week against Pitts, but the first round win saves Norv despite his clear incompetence.

Of that Group, BIG AL is the one, above the others, that really should make it. Or at least make it first. Yes over Lynch and Pryce...

I still say AL was the best MLB in the game for quite a few years... if we had any resemblance of a D-Line, whatsoever...

Don't worry, SD is probably not the place you have to worry about. Shanny would want complete control, and Spanos would have to fire what's his name to make that happen; I just doubt it.

KC would make more sense if they would give him the power he wants, and they might.

However, I'm not sure that either team's ownership has the commitment to winning that Shanny has always said he wants in an owner.

With all that being said, just out of respect to Bowlen, or possibly they have a gentleman's agreement(think $21 million for the next 3 yrs.), he may stay out of the AFC West for that reason.

I couldn't agree more with the first section. The second... I do think Ray was better, any of the years. That's hardly a knock against Al. Ray Lewis is just the best LB since LT (the real one... not the whiny bitch who can't play in a playoff game).

Because Bowlen never insisted on it, and Paul Allen did. We are not even sure if they talked about it at all in his exit interview. I would like to think that Bowlen gave Shanny the option, but we don't know if he did.

That's your list???

Pryce was dumped by shanny and he has played lights out ever since!

Lynch was told he couldn't play and look what shanny replaced him with, did you like that?

Portis is no slouch either coulda used him this year. and champ has helped up to rise to 27th in D that make ya proud?

Champ, Al, Lynch, and Trevor helped DRAG this ****ing team to the AFCCG.

You want to blame Champ for not being able to make the pick because of his dislocated shoulder in the harness? Fine.

You want to blame Nick Ferguson for not being able to catch a ball that almost hits him in the face. Fine.

But you're really gonna blame evaluations on these four HoFers after their BLATANT success here in Denver?

That's sad.

Baja, I've been wondering how large a role the Portis trade played in Shanny's downfall. Portis has proven to be a workhorse and would no doubt be a hall of famer if he stayed with the Broncos. We plugged in some nice guys at RB but really miss the go to guy. Portis had a hell of a year last year. Portis was so damn exciting as a Bronco. Still pissed about that trade.

i don't have the figures but how many draft picks have gone to RB? How many free agents signed since Portis left? All picks and money that could have been geared towards the defense. And to not recognize the effect of Porits on the QB and the passing game is ridiculous.

I understand you always direct resources towards every position, but too much has been aimed at RB. (Henry, Clarett)

Our DB/LB/DL situation is crap with our without Champ so I don't see a major impact even though he is a great player. He certainly had a great year when we went to the AFCCG.

Only one first day pick, which CAME from the Bailey trade and in was in turn parlayed into Dre Bly, our best defensive player of 2008.

Compensatory and untradable. Also, the height of talent if he decided not to drink at team workouts.

Obviously Shanahan's fault. Should've personally taught him that booze was not acceptable in Dove Valley.

are you whiners still complaining about a third round pick from many years ago? still? they took a gamble on a player they thought could be special and it didnt work, why is it such a big deal this many years later?

At first it looked like we flat out raped Snyder but as the years go by it looks much more even. I too wonder what Portis in the back field would be like. I mean can we be much worse without Champ on D and there was that wasted 2nd round pick for Bell.

Impossible to second guess now at the time it looked like Portis was a flavor clown and injury prone as it turns out he was neither. I was in favor of the trade then not sure I would be today as it turns out.

Anybody remember TJs take on that trade?

Find when I claimed he was.

After you've spent a decade in that vain attempt, try finding any evidence that Clinton Portis is more valuable to a franchise never picking in the top twenty than Clinton Portis AND a second round pick
