seriously 11 penalties to 3? And I saw two facemasks tonight by Marcus McNeil alone - should've been called illegal hands to the face, no calls each time, no calls.

WTF is this, NFL.

The last time Winters refed a Colts game they had 12 penalties, most all season. Hmmmmmmmmm

Congrats to SD.

This moves them down in the draft a little bit as well which is good news for us. The way they have drafted lately, we don't really want them having any chance at a RB like Moreno. They won't make it too much further so no real worries.

And, if they don't lock up Sproles like NOW they are fools! What a phenomenal player he is. I am hopeful that our own Alridge can be a special player like him as well... but just in case we should probably draft our own little stud like Miquale Lewis.. maybe not as fast but small like Sproles!

Norv Stays, Al Davis stays, Herm leaves, the Broncos hire some bum, Shanny comes to KC....

It's all falling into place.

Actually, it only affects their draft position if they make it to the superbowl.

Haven't you spent the last few years ripping Shanahan, jiggles?

Anyone want to take a bet if the Norv-led bolts finish with a better or worse record next year? Without Sproles (who I would rather have on my team than Tomlinson at this point), they have no big play threat and an injury prone running game. Barring an outstanding draft or big free agent acquisitions, I don't see how they can improve next year. They get Mia, Ten, the NFC East, AFC North, and AFC West x2. We get Ind, NE, NFC East, AFC North, and AFC West x2. Oakland will continue to be garbage, KC won't be fantastic. Looks like we could very well have a 9-7 or 8-8 division winner again. :( Or a doomsday scenario of our defense not improving at all and the Chargers getting worse, a 7-9 division winner. :vermeil:

See that is what I thought too but then somebody posted a rules translation recently that described teams that went further into the playoffs being the "breaker"... maybe that was teams with like records? I should go back and look at that post b/c I've always understood it to be the same way and thought maybe that was a recent rules change. Thanks for keeping in line, skippy!

Yeah but not as a coach. His whole problem is too much power over personnel.

Oh, riiiiiight.

Well, you needn't worry yourself about him, douche-bag. He's not interested in any kind of total rebuild in a hick town like K.C..

K.C. will either keep Herm, or make some other similar gaffe at head coach.

Take up a new hobby, dude. You guys are going to suck for eternity.

He's not headed to KC. But he has interest.

Why do you think he turned down the Jets?

Well it sure wasn't because he intends to go to KC.

I don't know. Maybe because they haven't won a Super Bowl since my dad was in diapers. But something tells me that doesn't enhance KC's chances either.

I don't know why he turned down the Jets. Possibly because of the Favre mess. Possibly because he doesn't like NY. Possibly because he thought there would be a better opportunity elsewhere. Turning down the Jets doesn't mean he's interested in KC.

My guess is that he will go to Indy if Dungy calls it quits, but I think Dallas is a possibility too.

Dungy was talking about possibly retirering during the pregame tonight. Least when I caught it, that is what I thought they were talking about.

My guess is that if Dungy leaves Indy, Shanny would think long and hard about being their next coach. He has always liked Manning.

Was that before or after Shanny was fired?

I keep saying...Shanny will wait for the perfect situation and pounce.

I thought perhaps it was the Chargers...but tonight saved Turner. That doesn't mean that Turner doesn't screw the pooch in 2009 and Shanny takes over in 2010...but there will be other nice scenarios before then.

Perhaps the Colts if Dungy retires. I wouldn't doubt it.

As for K.C. That's doubtful. Here's why: The owner is not fully committed to being competetive. The Chiefs are always way under the CAP. Also, there's not enough talent on the team to entice Shanny. No QB, an average offense and an average defense at best. The Chiefs need a franchise signal caller like Stafford and need a full rebuild. Is Shanny looking for that? I don't think so.

The positives for the Chiefs:

1. The Fans...homefieled advantage like no other
2. Close to Denver
3. The AFC West

Not enough to entice Shanny...IMO.

I think the ownership would also be seen as a plus to Shanny.

Poppycock. That was just this last year.

Der, that's where the new GM comes in. And Shanny with the Qb situation. Generally you don't find new GMs and HCs on teams loaded with talent.

The Chiefs need a franchise signal caller like Stanton and need a full rebuild. Is Shanny looking for that? I don't think so.

"Full rebuild" is incorrect. We added significant talent last season. We're not that far away on offense. We actually need more on defense.

Shanahan won't even consider the Chefs job unless he has full control (GM, Coach, VP, etc.), so my sources tell me.
