These current group of defenders have to learn a whole new playbook when they couldn't even grasp the last three.
How can we honestly expect anything different this season? Its all going to be "new" again. Growing pains. Missed assignments.
If we are top 20 in defense next year, no matter who we bring in, it will be a miracle.
I can't see up going more than 10-6 next season at the best.

BTW, given the schedule, 10 - 6 would be a friggin miracle.

Yeah, it isn't good, but it is our furture and hopefully we get a DC that can really put the hammer down and build it up!!
Instill the KISS system on D and get a bad ass motivator.

Can you really consider Slowik a DC?

at least half the defensive players are going to be gone anyway, so it isn't like it's that big of a deal. plus as long as we can get a DC who has a little bit of a brain he will be able to install a basic version of his scheme and add to it as the season goes on, so that the defense shows improvement while also learning a new system.
also this defense just needs to get back to basics.
our new DC needs to run tackling drills until our players puke. we need to get these guys who want glory ESPN highlight reel tackles and teach them form tackling until they can't move.
