I'm curious as to how they're going to fit Gambit into his origin story... but it's cool enough that they're finally putting Gambit in.

...and the BEST part. Deadpool is in.

I was never into the X-men as a kid (liked Robotech) but I have enjoyed some of the current movies. I will certainly make time to see this one......

Yeah, maybe, but as a great wise a%% once said, "I would hit it." And I would see the movie too.

Misses Stout and I were laughing hysterically in the theater when that part came on. Everything else about this preview looked top notch, then that part just seemed so terribly corny it was a laugh riot.

I am excited about this movie, but I will have to close my eyes when this part is coming up.

Looking forward to this movie. I think its cooler that Gambit is being played by the guy who did Hitman who i like as an actor as well.

I haven't read comics in over a decade, so can someone clarify something?

Didn't Wolverine kill his own father? Or was it Sabertooth? And was Silver Fox just an implanted memory, or real?

I am with you Rev haven't read since I was 14. That was over 16 years ago!

From what I understand it was Wolverine's family's groundskeeper who kills Wolverine's father. This event leads to Wolverine's mutant powers(bone claws) being activated, where he kills the groundskeeper and injurs his son, a former friend, who becomes Sabertooth. He then runs away and gains the nickname "Wolverine" in a mining camp or something before being recruited for Weapon X.

Oh yeah yeah yeah. I think that's what I heard. Isn't the groundskeeper named Logan so he takes on that name?

Okay, okay, epic fail on the casting.

Maverick's in the movie as Agent Zero... he's the asian dude that shoots him in the trailer. Maverick an Asian? WTF?

Speaking of casting, I was just reading today that Russell Crowe was originally offered the part of Wolverine back when they were casting the first XMen movie......but he wanted waaaaay too much money.

Hugh Jackman was actually their 3rd choice.

I read the same.

Funny how none of the X-Men movies were even that good, but that choice completely sent their careers in opposite directions.

Just watched this movie yesterday. My friend downloaded a leaked version of it from a torrent site. It was a regular digital copy, not recorded with a camcorder or anything. The only thing was that it was about 90% completed, meaning they hadn't put in all the CGI yet (the movie itself was complete). So some of the more CGI-heavy scenes had really basic graphics in place of how it will look when completed.

I didn't want to ruin it for myself, but I was visiting for the weekend so I had no choice! Anyway, I give it 3 stars out of 5. Not as good as the regular X-Men movies. And two weird things stuck out for me. Don't worry, these aren't really spoilers...you find them both out in the first 5 minutes:

Wolverine was born with claws. I was always under the impression that Stryker put them in Wolverine as shown in X2, but I guess in some versions of the comics, he was born with them. The other weird thing was that this movie had Wolverine and Sabretooth as brothers. WTF?

That kind of creates a major flaw in the first XMen movie.....when Professor Xavier has to tell him that the guy he was attacked by in the beginning of the movie was a mutant named Sabretooth.....Logan never met him before.

More like 1/Half stars out of 4 this movie sucks.First of all they never followed up on why Wolverine "real father" killed his fake father, but thats just one of the many flaws in this movie.Which i won't get into because i would spoil it...

He's got all sorts of memory issues and the X-Men movies are way off his story.

He WAS born with the bone claws, btw. When Magneto ripped his metal out like 15 years ago when I read comics, he still had the claws.

Nothing worried me more than that... but in the new trailer it looks like he pulls it off. Who knows? The costume's definitely different.

Bingo. It only makes sense. Logan's bones were infused with Adamantium by Weapon X, so of course he has bone claws before the Adamantium.

I saw the movie and I thought it was just OK. I was never into X-Men comics, so I didn't have anything with which to compare. The only spoiler I'll reveal is the memory issue Rev discussed earlier in this thread. Losing his memory explains why Wolverine doesn't know anything about himself at the start of the original X-Men movie. The climactic fight was pretty cool, but that was only the final 20-30 minutes. The best part about the flick is that it led up to the original X-Men movie very well.

They should all hang for what they did to Deadpool.

I was absolutely furious. Ruined the entire movie for me. **** them.

That wasn't my issue with it. In fact, I thought Reynolds was the PERFECT Wade Wilson that started the movie. My issue was with how they presented "Deadpool" at the end and the powers that didn't apply at all and some other things they did to him that I don't want to play spoiler too.

They better fix that ****ing **** when he gets his own movie soon.
