With the schedule we have next year it's quite possible a Slowik lead defense could have posted EVEN WORSE franchise records than the ones set this year.

We have the talent to compete. Even win if we play our best. But we didn't have the DC and we would have been destroyed with Slowik. I hold out hope that we might put together a decent season now.

Remember when Denver meant great head coaching because those days could easily be ancient history if Bowlen doesn't choose right with the new hire. Head coaches of Mike Shanahan's calibur do not grow on trees, in fact they are damn near impossible to find.

shouldn't that have been enough to make you hate Slowik? i mean, even an ordinary fan could see that the defense played better with the rookies than it did with the starters, and as soon as the vets were healthy again, the rookies playing better than them were benched. there were moments during the season where it looked like you could build upon certain players or schemes, but Slowik could never do anything to get the defense to take the next step.
i don't care if you have a talented D like the Titans, or garbage like we did. there is no excuse for how bad he was coaching our Defense. a Head Coach, OC, DC anything is responsible for putting his unit in the best position to succeed. and with him dumping the players playing better than the vets and killing any kind of goodness the defense was building with the youth, he deserved to go.

and considering the fact that Shanahan was fired for him, makes me hate him even more.
