I know its pure speculation, but I am wondering what you all think Shanahan will be doing in 2009.

(poll to come)

It may take him the whole year to see all the rooms in his new 35,000 sq ft house.

Collecting his Bronco millions. Not saying he hasn't earned it, but I believe Scheffler stated that as long as Mike is unemployed, we have to pay his salary. If he gets a new job, we are off the hook. Here's hoping an NFC team calls him. 8')

I think you meant Schefter. Anyway, yes that is typically how those contracts work. If he is employed next year then we don't pay him, at least not the full amount. Since he was also the VP here in Denver, how much we pay him will depend on what capacity he takes on.

Shanahan will be coaching the Cowboys pretty soon and he will win the SB in his first year coaching there. Good job Pat Bowlen:thumbs: (ASSHOLE)

cowboys, chargers, jets.

One of these teams will give him free reign to do as he pleases.

I have to believe that the Jets are the front runners, altho the QB situation is dicey. After that, the Chargers. Cowboys have too strong a personality in Jerry Jones.

He'll probably still be fighting for his share of the $30,000,000 he faces losing to eminent domain. I'd imagine he'll find another coaching job as well. Who knows he may need to financially since he was building his dream mansion and dealing with his new restaurant in a really tough economy.

Bottom line. Shanny had way too much **** on his plate to run the Broncos. You could see it in his face.

Shanny showed his inability to make decisions by bringing in slowick. When Shanny's arrogance got the best of him when he annouced that slowick wasn't going anywhere. That sealed his fate and his job.

So far the "NFL Head Coach" and "Take the Year Off" are neck and neck.

I don't see why he wouldn't take a well deserved year off. Coaching 14 straight years has got to take a toll physically and mentally. Take some time off, recharge the batteries, look at the NFL through a spectators perspective and come back hungry to prove something.

If he jumps into another position too soon, I expect he'll have some initial success, then he'll start to flounder again. Truly hope that won't be the case because the NY media and fans will eat him alive.
