It's obvious. It has to be. There's no other explanation for what happened today.
Pat Bowlen knows who he wants to hire. Someone that either recently became available or someone who HAS been available is already being contacted. There is NO OTHER EXPLANATION FOR THIS. There is no reason, given the state of the defense, that PB boots Mike Shanahan without KNOWING that he can bring in someone that will do at least as well, if not better than Mike would have done next year. This team was on track to do great things next year and beyond, provided we can make just a couple of solid signings (NOT McCree or Niko type players) and have a good draft.
Pat sees someone he likes. Is it a coincidence that Cowher just told the Jets "no" the day before we fire Shanahan? And what about Mangini and Crennel? Then you have guys like Garret who are just waiting to be plucked.
In Bowlen we now trust..

Or he wanted to do it before the Press Conference For the end of the year Tom.

The timing might be a coincidence, but why do you make the decision in the first place if you don't know for sure that a better option is available and that you have a fairly good shot of signing him.

I agree I will be shocked if Pat doesn't have someone lined up for both GM & HC.

Pat took a day to think about this. He has contacted somebody, but who we dont know. But your right. Somebody is lined up.

Could be. But the decision could've been made in a bubble. Bowlen just might have thought they had been treading water too long, players tuning him out and too much damn money wasted on big flops (Gardener, Carter, K. Pittman), fat flops (Sam Adams) and little flops (Boss, Colbert, Niko).

I'm not sure I can watch the games next year if we hire Mangina or Crennel as a HC.

I dont think there is any plan.
The main decision is Offensive guru or Defense? Im hoping the latter.

I believe your right on target. But I do not know if it is one of the names being thrown around. I have this feeling about Kurt Ferentz of Iowa that won't go away.

Don't be surprised if John Elway is announced the new GM next Tuesday morning.

I hope this wasn't a meeting where Bowlen tells shanny to fire Slowic and he says no and he overreacts and fires Shanny.
he better have his guys locked up to hire and not get out manuvered leaving this team trying to sign Wanny before the draft.
