Here are the statistics for our runningbacks for 2008. Not bad yards per average per player. Not listed is first or third down runs but at least it shows that we have the players to compete. Put all of the them together to make one healthy ( ), 1400 yard back!

M. Pittman 76 320 4.2 20 4
S. Young 61 303 5. 49 1
P. Hillis 60 285 4.8 19 4
T. Bell 33 197 6.0 37 2
A. Hall 35 144 4.1 16 0

MY DEN 2008 RB depth chart.

HILLIS (made us a legit playoff offense)
---Huge gap---
Pope (Seemed like he was about to take off in a big way)
Pittman (great pass pro and good goal line running and did well in his game as the feature back)
Bell (hey, he made teh most of his PT)
Torain (sucks that he went down to fast, looked good though)
young (2000yds?)
Hall (cut)

How do we get 1 healthy back, or 2 healthy backs. I would love to have a Carolina Panther two back system, or a Titan. I guess draft? Or hope Hillis/Pittman/ Torrain dont get hurt next year? Since we must draft Defense, I say pray Torrain and them can stay healthy.

youre right, our running backs SHOULDNT have a goal of hitting 2,000 yards. good call.

The injury situation was a fluke. Hillis coming back is a given. Torain and Pope should stay.

Yes, I hope the injuries dont come back next year. I hate blaming things on Injuries.

I dont cut for blaming things on injuries, thats what's called depth.

But when 1 position takes a 7 injury hit, I think its fair to blame the injury bug.

Thanks, that makes me feel better. The NFL doesnt allow enough depth to have a 7 person hit on one position, so we became desperate.

The person that should be fired is the groin coach. LOL
How many groin injuries did the 2008 Broncos have?

But could you see any fault in the conditioning team? Obviously some injuries like Hillis' are bad luck but it seems that every 3rd play someone is injured on the Denver Broncos.

Yes, you can blame the conditioning. How do you fix it. Call Pat Bowlen and tell him to hire someone else?

I dont see how conditioning plays a part.

Drafting injury prone players could have something to do with it.

Torain for example, Im willing to be will never be as good as advertised. ACL injuries to RBs are not easy to come back from and quite frankly, I doubt that guy will ever play a full season.

Groin pulls may have to do with conditioning but then, especially when you have multiple groin pulls from players on the same team but, that doesnt mean it IS the case. I remember Champs groin pull and I dont think it had anything to do with conditioning at all.

I dont believe any team in the history of the NFL has sustained 7 injuries to players at a single position. And as important as Denver's run game is to the offense, I think its fair to say that without half of those injuries we win a game or two we would have lost.

That would be sweet. I hope we dont put Hillis back at FB, I know he would do great at FB, But I love seeing him line up 8 yards back and cracking helmets with defenders.

I don't know if your being funny or for real but how many RB's in the history of the league have gotten to 2,000?

Him saying he's going for 2,000 was stupid.

I don't think Hillis will be an everydown back. He's too much of a playmaker. A Chris Cooley with some actual talent if you will.

Ya, we could 1-2 punch him with someone fast, Like Titans with White and Johnson, or Panthers with Williams and that other guy. Giants do that too, and the one thing in common with Titans, panthers and Giants, is that they are all Superbowl contenters. But they have great defenses. Denver should start with their D for next year, but that is stating the obvious.

Adrian Peterson said the same thing, he led the NFL in rushing...stupid, right? Good to have a goal.

Cooley has talent. Not a bad H back at all. Also apparently, now shy about showing off the wang, either.

1: Torain, 1a: Hillis. The rest compete for feature back / 3rd down specialist. Don't be so quick to cut Andre Hall, though.

1st time in 7 years without a 1000 yard rusher and 1st time in 4 years without 2 rushers without 500 yards. fewest yards by a leading rusher all time, closest was Little in 67 with 380 yds on 130 carries. Fewest yards rushing as a team since 1994.

NYG led the league in YPC with 5.0

Denver was tied for 2nd with 4.8.

It's not the injuries....It's the game plan (Head Coach).

Not a doubt in my mind that Denver could've kept it's glaring weakness off the field more with a better game plan.

387 rush attempts is an absolute joke and reason enough all by itself that Mike needs to walk. (Not that there's not 5 other good reasons also).

Yeah, if you aim for 2,000 you might get 1,200.
