No kidding these piss ants are not the Denver Bronco fans I know. The fans I know always thought the team had a chance to win. In all those painful Super Bowl loses we thought we could win and that was against much superior team then these 7 and 8 Chargers. I can't believe what I am reading from these self anointed knowledgeable fans that have already lost, fuuck um!

That's just it... we've been underdogs before... much heavier underdogs than we are tomorrow against this "really-not-that-good" '08 Boltz team... and won. Green Bay in SB XXXII was a far tougher opponent than we're facing tomorrow. For that matter, so was Atlanta in SB XXXIII. And every playoff team we faced on the way to both SBs was better. The outcome of the game is not a foregone conclusion and stranger things have happened in the NFL than a loss by an overconfident, cocky, trashtalking home team that appears to already be looking ahead to Indy.

big difference between "thinking" and "hoping." See I "hope" we win and I will root like a mofo tomorrow night but when I "think" about it, I just don't see it happening. "Hope" we at least cover the spread, "hope" it isnt gonna be 42-7, hell, "hope" we win. But when I "think" about it, I just dont see anything but an ass whuppin coming. Also, I "hope" like hell Im wrong.
So are we getting somewhere? Its like when you have a bunch of kids you found off the street, and you are a big fan of those kids, yet they are going up against a pro team, you "hope" the street kids do well, you "root" for em, maybe even talk shlt to their fans, but deep down you know it just isnt gonna happen. And I dont "think" that makes me any less of a fan because of what I "think" is going to happen. Just like I "hope" you win 100 bucks tomorrow, but "think" you will be 100 bucks lighter.

Just curious here... is the presumption that we'll lose...embarrassingly and by 20 points or more...due to the impression that the '08 Bolts have magically morphed into the second coming of the '07 Patriots, hence the toughest team in the league? Or is it because you think our defense is worse than Detroit's?

That team gave you reason to believe. That was a strong, veteran team that gutted through 3 road playoff games to get to that game. I don't know about you but I don't quite look at this team the same way. Hopefully in a couple of years I have reason to.

And to think, I thought we had a 50/50 chance. I think people forget that we gave up three plays of 50 plus yards against SD that resulted in TDs. It was close, not just because of their talent, but because of our failures. We do have a great chance to win this game.

in 97 I was pretty confident against KC and Pitt, but not in the super bowl. For one it was hard to envision the Broncos being SB champs. For 2 I didnt think we'd be able to run the ball against that fatass in the middle. ust hoped we would make it respectable. However when we won I cried like a bltch I was so happy. Went out the next day got the t shirt and hat. Went to the parade, all that jazz.

I said Super Bowl run We had a chance to win the division that year too but lost a must win game to KC for the division. It would have been easy to fold plying in KC as a wild card where we had been spanked earlier in the season but we won and shocked KC I say we can do the same in SD.
Hey maybe we will lose but I didn't go through all the off season and the draft and free agent period to roll over and expect defeat during the last game of the season for all the marbles. I think your off season has started before mine rather we win lose or draw the game.

I think because we have 7 running backs on IR, because we have 17 players on IR, because we can't figure out how to get WW on the field and Webster off of it, because we have lost 2 embarrassing games in a row and they have won 3 straight, because they are at home, because it is a night game, because our defense is reaching historic levels in terms of ineptitude when it comes to forcing turnovers, because of Slowik, because we thought we had the division wrapped up only 13 days ago, as well as 6 days ago, because the chuggers are playing pretty damn good football these last4 quarters and 2 minutes and we played shltty the last 7 quarters, because Champ bailey is not 100%, and because Bob Slowik is committed to abandoning any kind of defensive scheme that, well, works, that we will lose and lose big.
If I weren't a Broncos fan, Id bet about 3K on the Chargers. Couldnt live with myself if I did that though.

hmmmm. Did you watch either of those 2 KC games? I wouldnt say a 50+ yard field goal on the last play of the game to win was a spanking. It was a "you guys got lucky and we just hope like hell we get another crack at your sorry asses" game.

Interviews this week make it sound like SD (not just the fans; their players as well) is cocky and overconfident... like they're taking a win tomorrow as a foregone conclusion and a playoff berth as their just and rightful due... and are already looking past us to Indy. That team can be beaten... and has been beaten 8 times this year. They came very close to letting the Chefs beat them a couple of weeks ago and in fact, the Chefs did outplay them for most of the game . No way would I risk 3k betting on them, even if I were not a Broncos fan. They are simply not all that good.

Of course you are free to think whatever you wish. But those are my reasons for not throwing in the towel or giving up hope that winning is at least within the realm of possibility. I'll believe that we don't have a chance of winning only if we have fewer points as the last seconds tick off the clock. And not until then.

The offense does not turn the ball over, Cutler has less than 250 yards passing, Tatum has 100 yards rushing, our defense creates a couple turnovers, Engleberger gets a sack, and the Broncos win on a 44 yard Prater FG.

We CAN win this game. SD is just as much of an enigma as we are.
And it seems like JC does some of his best stuff in road games.
I hope to hell we do win. But I am not counting on it. Just no confidence in the teams ability to get their stuff together on all three facets. Offense Defense and ST. We will need ALL of them.
I do know this....If SD lights us up and trounces us badly then this team
is NOT what many of us thought. The season will have been wasted, and the
opportunity to make something good come out of it as well.

Nope. It's based on the observation that (1) the Bolts are playing well and appear to have peaked at the right time and (2) the Broncos are playing like crap and appear to have bottomed at the wrong time and (3) The broncos seem to fold up their tent and go home at the first sign of adversity and (4) The broncos have 7 running backs on IR and none of the remaining backs presents a serious threat to do anything. As a result, Cutler will be throwing into dense coverage all day long--so at least a couple of picks are very likely and (5) As much as it sticks in my craw, Rivers is a pretty good QB and we are a terrible team against the pass and (6) LT is a pretty good running back who has had a bad season. If there is any running defense in the league that will make him look like the 2006 LT, it is ours.
I hope the broncos pull off a miracle. But it will take a miracle. I'll be cheering them on. But I'm not sure I'll be able to watch the whole game. Can't stand seeing my boys give up when things get rough.

Ok, 1) if "playing well and peaking at the right time" is defined as "pulling off a last-second, one-point win over the division-cellar-dwelling Chefs two weeks ago", you might have a point.
2) the Broncos are Jekyll-and-Hyde. One week they can lose to the Raiders; the next they can beat the playoff-contention Bretts.
3) I think the Broncos have faced more adversity than most teams this season and they're still in playoff contention with 8 wins. Obviously, they cannot possibly have "always folded like a tent"....
4) Yes, we have suffered an unbelievable number of season-ending injuries at a single position. If any team in league history has ever experienced a similar situation, my guess is that they weren't vying for a playoff berth in Week 17...if Tatum and/or the practice squad guy can't get something going on the ground, the offense will be one-dimensional and hence easier to defense. However, without the steroid abuser, SD's defense is suspect at best.
5) Rivers is overrated and when the defense is keyed to stop the run and make him carry the team on his back, he usually isn't up to the job.
6) LT is a shadow of his former self... I mean, LT's 1,014 yards for the season is dwarfed by his former backup's (Michael Turner) 1,491.
Furthermore, 3 of the Bolts' losses have come at home... they do not have a solid HFA this year, any more than we have... last 5 games, they are 3-2 while we're 2-3 (a single game better in that timespan).

Furthermore, 3 of the Bolts' losses have come at home... they do not have a solid HFA this year, any more than we have... last 5 games, they are 3-2 while we're 2-3 (a single game better in that timespan).
ooops this was the post I was calling a sweet post .......... ;D

I don't know what this 85% stuff is or where it came from, but I say 50-50 chance of winning.

Accuscore is stupid. If games were decided on that thing, the Chargers would be 14-1 right now.

Holy crap look how off that site is on the early games. This might be the best news for the Broncos thus far.

well hope vs think. Think wins.

Six for six. And I called the interceptions right. That shadow and his backup kicked our ass.
