Tonight...Cloudy. A 30 percent chance of light snow or light freezing drizzle after midnight. Lows 10 to 15. Southeast winds 10 to 20 mph.
Friday...Cloudy. Chance of light snow or light freezing drizzle in the morning...Then light snow likely in the afternoon. Snow accumulation up to 1 inch. Highs in the mid 20s. East winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation 70 percent.
Friday Night...Light snow likely. Areas of blowing and drifting snow. Snow accumulation around 1 inch. Total snow accumulation 1 to 2 inches. Lows 5 to 10. Brisk. Northwest winds 15 to 25 mph. Chance of snow 70 percent.
Saturday...Mostly cloudy. Chance of light snow in the morning... Then slight chance of light snow in the afternoon. Brisk. Highs 10 to 15. Chance of snow 50 percent.
My flight is 6:00 am on Sat. here is the weather! Should I change it to tomorrow if possible and leave on a noon flight? I'm a little leary of the wind/drifting on Friday night....ugh! I hate this type of decision. Or will they let me standby tomorrow and keep my original Saturday?
Oh yeah and I only have 45 minutes in Denver...(IF and that's probably including deicing a plane in fargo) to catch my Diego flight! (on Saturday)

if the crew says the plan you are to take is ready to go, then do it. They do a great job at making sure everything is safe. dont worry!

You're not getting it...I'm talking about delayed or cancelled flights.
Better to go early if you can swing it.
My advice is if you can get out tomorrow do it. You are at the greatest risk of planes stacking up at other airports which may mean the plane you are supposed to fly on can't get in to where you are. Give yourself the cushion. The downside is the risk of sitting in the airport as a standby and having one heck of a crummy day never getting on a plane. 45 mins in Denver in winter = zero cushion.
Good Luck Sassy!

Well as of now there are flights available out of Fargo...I checked United.
But I'd rather do standby tomorrow and go if I can IF I can be sure I either get out or still have a flight sat. (my original one.) He pretty much told me if I can get out of Fargo...I can do Denver to SD or Denver to LA and then SD. Once out of Fargo isn't a problem, I don't think.

The 6:21 am flight though is the first one out in the am. THe plane, I believe is already here.
if that's the case there's nothing in the weather you told about that would ground a plane I don't think. I'd still go tomorrow so that Saturday doesn't turn into a stressfest if things start turning bad. Hey what's an extra day in SD? Could be worse!

True...and looking at the hotel, it's not full yet either. We do have reservations for Sat-Wed so maybe they would not make me pay if I reserved and cancelled at the last minute. I should call them.
Take into account I've never been to Fargo and have no idea what the weather is like there--other than cold in the winter.
Unfortunately my only lasting images of Fargo are of a guy upside down half digested by a wood chipper!

Well, I talked to the united reservations guy at the airport night before last...he basically said it's the visibility...which is why the winds/drifting snow have me wondering...just out of curiosity I called our hotel in Diego...she put a 24 hour hold on a room for me.
I still say go early and be prepared to drink heavily!

they would be jumping for joy if the weather was that good here in cleveland lol.......you will be fine. Light snow and drizzle wont cancel your flight.......14 inches of snow might though......

Ugh...is that what you have?
I'm more worried about only have 45 minutes at DIA...because if they don't leave on time here I'm screwed...I checked seats available...because of Christmas...everything is pretty much booked.

well you might be cutting it close......because they will probably have to De-Ice the plane first......which will add 15-20 min...........but they can usually make that time back up in the air.
Go to whatever airline your flying and see what gate you land at and which one you connect to.
I flew into DIA once with only a 30 min layover, our plane was 25 min late.....and still made it to my next connection.......however my bags didn't.
If your concerned, (depending on the airline) you can call ahead tomorrow and get on a standby list for the next flight to san diego. This way if you need it, your already first in line, if not no big deal.

That's what I was going to try today...standby...because the flights are pretty much full...no seats available...I know the next two after the 8:25 out of DIA are full .... The plane that depart today at the same time I leave tomorrow just left...1/2 hour late.

yeah thats probably for the Deicing and stuff........generally anything less than 30 min they can USUALLY make back up by going faster in the air........just be careful with standby.......because if you standby to DIA early, then dont make the standby to SD.....your bags still end up in SD without you lol
Is hogan flying out of cleveland? I am, continental, my plane leaves at 830 am tomorrow

Airlines these days add plenty of minutes to the total flight time to allow for runway backups, de-icing, etc. to make it look like they are "on time." If they actually take off without a hitch, they fly the plane a touch slower to save fuel and get you there right on time. If they take off a little late, they go all ahead full the whole way to still make it on time. This is especially blatant at high traffic airports like JFK, where they will quote a 2 hour flight time from New York to Pittsburgh, even when actual time in the air is about an hour.
And also, I've never heard anyone call SD "Diego"...
jesus Sassy just get on the damn plane.

Ok...feeling a bit better here. I'm confirmed from Fargo to Denver at 6:21 am tomorrow and I am confirmed on an 11:00 out of Denver to San Diego. I am also the first person on standby for my original 8:15 flight out of Denver to San Diego. Gives me a little more wiggle room if we get delayed here in Fargo.

I once was coming down McClure's pass in a snow storm towing a trailer loaded with all my household stuff with a jeep, when I looked out my passenger's side window I saw that the trailer was trying to pass me.

Sassy, I just flew out of Denver Sunday and I did not see any burned plane, though I did hear the story. I was delayed on my connecting flight to AZ from DIA by about an hour because the plane I was leaving on was coming from state where the weather was wacky. Don't know if that was helpful, but I don't seem to recall any wreckage there to haunt you. Have a safe trip.

Our area has already set new records for the most snowfall ever in the month of December... and the current weather system is projected to dump another foot to as much as 2 feet of snow. This is what it looked like this morning....

and a wood stove....
We used to have a wood stove... but went solely to electric heat when the twins were born. The wood stove got just too hot and we didn't want to risk possible burns with two toddlers (and 4 older kids) running around/scuffling/wrestling etc.

especially a battery powered one.

Well if you don't like battery or electric there is this;
Integrate alternative energy technology into the bedroom with what may be the first solar-powered vibrator.
The Solar Sensation vibrator will charge in sunlight (5hrs) and artificial light (100w bulb 24hrs). It has three speeds and it will run 2.5 hours on a full charge (if you should last that long). A great way for avid users of vibrators to save tons of batteries while putting a smile on their faces.
