Ya, not one sack given up all year, and unbelievable run blocker. I dont get it. He shut down Peppers, who is starting on the pro bowl roster. Wouldnt that mean Clady should be a probowler.

What a joke. Peters is a no talent turd compared to Clady.

As well they should. The guy has given up a dozen sacks this year.

4 of the pass rushers he's faced (and bested) this year made it :S (I'm including Mario Williams, he didn't exactly "best" him, but you know what I mean).

Peters is having one of the worst years ever for a tackle. 11.5 sacks and 8 penalties for 106 yards.

I bet if we did play Houston this year he wouldnt have allowed Williams to have a sack.

This whole thing makes me sick. Apparently if you're not playing underneath ESPN's nose, you don't get noticed no matter how dominant you are.

And he held out at the beginning the year. Basically he allows a sack a game.

This is why fans picking the players sucks ass. The Redskins were rumored to have 7 candidates based on a huge PR ad they ran to get votes. They have lost 5 of the last 6 games too.

Fan voting isn't the problem. Only 1/3 of fan voting counts.
And only 4 Redskins made it, all of which are deserving.

Clady missing out is freakin pathetic though.

Actually False Start Harris has only allowed 7.5 sack this year to go with his 15 penalties.

It is ironic, because Clady has probably had the best and most consistent overall year of anyone on this team.

I'm still kind of shocked about that. If this kid stays healthy, it's scary to think what he could be like next year and the year after that and so forth.

Thats why I said 7 Redskins were rumored to be in contention. Thankfully that many didn't make it. Clady deserves it more than even Jay and Marshall. Well maybe as much as Jay but definitely more than Marshall.

I'm all for our guys getting their due but I agree with some that the Probowl is pathetic. Half the guys that get voted for it don't even play and when they do play, it's like a watered down scrimmage. There are no blitz', no line stunts. It's as fake as plastic fruit. I could care less about the game, the voting and ESPN..........hahahha.

Clady not going to the Pro Bowl is unfortunate and ignorant- however it was already mentioned he will feel much better when he is named All-Pro.

Hub Arkush (Pro Football Weekly) a week ago stated that Clady's performance against Cleveland was the most dominant performance he has EVER seen by an offensive tackle....

Where do you find sacks allowed numbers? That Mile High Report said 6.5 last week for Peters.

Haha, well in all fairness, I don't know how popular Cutler is going to be outside of Denver throughout his career, I'm afraid his lack of charisma, combined with what will hopefully be a knack for kicking the **** out of teams, will result in him being strongly disliked.

Also, no one likes his hair.

Let's be fair, as far as I can tell ESPN was pretty squarely behind Ryan Clady.

http://www.nfl.com/probowl/story?campaign=ec0005&template=without-video-with-comments&confirm=true&id=09000d5d80d5a10d

You can hate on ESPN for being more about catchphrases and ratings than presenting analysis or thoughtful commentary, but it's not accurate here.

EDIT - That's not the link hold on.

Clady made 3rd largest pro bowl snub in SI's illustrious Biggest Snubs gallery. WTF is up with everyone clamouring for Pennington? Not knocking him, he's a good game manager, but this is the pro bowl. This is for QBs with arms.

D'Brickashaw Ferguson is the second alternate and Marcus McNeill is the third alternate at offensive tackle.

Ferguson LINK: http://www.nj.com/sports/index.ssf/2008/12/jets_put_six_in_pro_bowl.html

McNeill LINK: http://www3.signonsandiego.com/stories/2008/dec/16/chargers-gates-dielman-pro-bowl/?chargers

I don't know who the first alternate is, but if it's not Ryan Clady, he has no chance of making this year's Pro Bowl:(

The selections of Thomas and Roos are justified. But Peters? Please. He's living off the reputation built in prior seasons. After missing the season opener following a contract holdout, Peters allowed 8.5 sacks in the next 12 games. He then made a critical error late in last Sunday's 31-27 loss to the Jets. Peters was slow getting out of his stance to block blitzing Jets safety Abram Elam. The result was a sack-and-strip of Bills quarterback J.P. Losman, leading to Jets defensive end Shaun Ellis returning the fumble for the game-winning touchdown.
While Ryan, Slaton and Clady have legitimate reasons to feel snubbed, they may still be on the field Feb. 8 when the Pro Bowl is played. That's because all three were chosen as alternates who may get promoted if current starters and backups drop out of the game because of injuries."

Reverend,

I hope FOX Sports has the right info because the RMN is reporting differently.

http://www.rockymountainnews.com/news/2008/dec/16/marshall-cutler-pro-bowl/

Cornerback Champ Bailey and center Casey Wiegmann were named first alternates, but standout rookie Ryan Clady surprisingly wasn't among the top six offensive tackles picked.

"I was a little bit surprised," Cutler said of Clady's exclusion.

Who cares? The pro bowl is a joke. It's a popularity contest with little basis in reality. Most fans who vote don't know **** from shinola about the game and have zero understanding of who the other players in the league are who deserve to be selected. They should strictly make this a vote of players and coaches not fans. Clady is an all pro and we all know it.

Too bad. Making that first Pro Bowl gets tougher every year.

Last year Browns rookie Joe Thomas made it and he made it again this year. Unless he gets injured he'll probably always get the nod.

Look at Chris Samuels. He made it as a rookie and has been a shoo-in almost every year since.

That's why you get guys like guard Randall McDaniel who made something like 10-11 straight Pro Bowls.

Once you're a household name, you get the votes over someone who isn't.
