ENGLEWOOD — The Broncos waived running back Cory Boyd on Monday.

Boyd, who had been signed from the practice squad earlier this month, could be headed back to the Broncos practice squad if he clears waivers. If the Broncos don't re-sign him to the practice squad, he will be a free agent.

Boyd was a gameday inactive Sunday in Carolina.

Haha wtf. I don't know if I've ever seen such hype/let down in a 2 day period. Also regarding Selvin, did he "promise" 2k, or did he say it was his goal? Two very different things, can't fault a guy for setting goals. I don't think I'd really want a running back who, in the preseason, says: "I'm shooting for a solid 680 this year". Either way, he looked like rubbish yesterday, that was disappointing :(

Agreed. Should have used "potential"... I also like the fact that he sets goals. Too bad he can't stay healthy, 'cause he'd be productive in our system (though not to the 2K degree).

I think the plan was to push tatum and young..........he doesn't want them with the mindset of "Im all they have, so screw running hard in practice" Bringing boyd up was just a way to motivate them (as if selling cell phones wasn't enough)

With everybody ok by Sat. they made him inactive and have decided everyone is ablebodied so dump Boyd. Shanny probably is betting he will make it through wavers back to PS. If that is the case, with motivation, it seems Tatum has some serious motivational issues. They did this to him with Mike Anderson going back to RB *and doing awesome...they did this with promoting Mike Bell to 1st string over him, now the guy is out of the league selling cell phones and he needs MORE motivation to push himself. What a waste. Can we get some players who are tough and motivated/ial?

Lot of guys look good in college and suck at the pro level. I think Shanahan's plan is for you and others to never know exactly what his plan is, and he seems to be doing a pretty good job of that. He gave the kid a chance, and the kid obviously didn't do what he needed to. Also, you have no idea what kind of practices he had. We do know that Shanahan puts a lot of stock in Bobby Turner's opinion when it comes to RBs so you better believe that if Turner liked him and wanted him, he would still be on the team. I will go ahead and defer to him rather than your scouting of a blurry college highlight reel.
