Anyone see him knock Peppers to his knee?

Clady dropped back in pass protection, he just kinda reached out and nailed Peppers.

He went down to one knee, I thought it was awesome even tho we got killed.

Clady faced his toughest challenge to date yesterday. Clady won a few rounds and Peppers won a few. All in all it will serve Clady well.

But that one play was just like wow!.

A rookie doing that to him.

Clady kicked his ASS--What was Pepper's stat line??? Oh yeah--non-MF-existent.

How many sacks did Clady give up to Peppers yesterday?

Its not al about sacks Old Dude.

I dont think Peppers got a sack through Clady, but he did abuse Clady about 12-15 times. I saw on no less than 3 occassions Clady got away with some pretty blatant holding calls.

This was his worst performance all year, but still I thought was a pretty good showing considering Peppers is way better than this board tends to give him credit for.

There was one hold where I half expected Peppers to lose his head. But Clady held his own and like I said it was like a Boxing match each had good rounds. I really watched that as the rest of the game sucked to watch.

I rewatched that it a little on Tivo, that play was just amazing.

He almost knocked him out just by pushing him off.

Like Gayhawk said, stats don't always tell the whole story. He was disruptive.

Clady is a stud.

I thought McNeill played awesome as a rookie but Clady is playing even better.

So true. Peppers is THE best 4-3 DE.

I gotta say, I thought he'd lost his game with that 2.5 sack performance last year, but damn, he was like an anaconda yesterday. Of course you know if Slowik got his hands on him he'd probably put him at DT and tell him to play the run first and foremost.

I actually think Mario Williams is better.

Imagine if Clady had a DE even mostly like Peppers to go against in practice.

Keep your fingers crossed it won't be a DE mostly like........

Clady observation.

He rules.

A rookie tackle "winning some and losing some" (as was stated earlier), with a consistent all-pro, all-world type talent at DE...I'll take it every day of the week.

Actually that's why Tim Crowder doesn't play on Sundays, they want to keep him fresh for practice against Clady.

True story....:clown:

I actually think Mario Williams is better.

Mario Williams is my favorite defensive player in the NFL. He's such a beast it's not even funny. Easily one of the strongest players in the NFL. I've seen him make tackles by throwing a blocker at the RB.

That's sick! I just imagined it and laughed...I mean...that's epic strength, almost close to how strong Hixon was before he was banned from planet earth right?

Clady used to BE a defensive end. Maybe we should let him go Larsen and play both ways. :-*

It was his rookie year. He straight up picked Kyle Brady, a pretty good blocking TE, up and threw him at either Fred Taylor or MJD.

Bring 'em in.

He should be at the top of our FA shopping list if he goes untagged.

I'd almost be ok with signing him to a poison pill offer sheet immediately after the draft, letting us keep the '09 first and giving Carolina our 2010 and 2011 firsts. Trade our 2nd and 3rd this year to get a 2010 first to minimize the damage and all that.

Let face it, that not going to happen. In fact I would be highly surprised if we land any of the big name defense players. We should be looking at the those young players coming of the their initial contracts have chance to be good. I wouldn't mind going after Chris Canty (Dal) as power end when he become a FA after the season.

That argument can be made. I don't agree with it, but that can be made. Significant drop off after that. The Freeney's and JA's of the world don't hold up in the run game nearly as well.
