I waited to see if someone else would post, but no one did.
I'm hoping someone can post some of the scouting reports for Murray in the discussion!

The team made official on Tuesday what Head Coach Mike Shanahan announced on Monday. Peyton Hillis was placed on the Reserve/Injured list today with a hamstring injury, and running back Cory Boyd was upgraded from the practice squad to the active roster.
The team also waived safety Calvin Lowry on Tuesday, signing guard Pat Murray off the Seattle Seahawks’ practice squad to fill the roster spot.
Boyd, signed by Denver to its practice squad on Nov. 4, is a rookie out of the University of South Carolina. He racked up 2,267 rushing yards and 1,303 receiving yards in 46-game career as a Gamecock. He is just the second player in school history to amass 2,000 rushing yards and reel in 100 receptions. He is also just the second player in school history to have 1,000 yards rushing and receiving.
Hillis, a rookie out of Arkansas, emerged as the Broncos’ go-to back after injuries plagued the backfield early in the season. He leads the team with 343 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns. His six total touchdowns (5 rush., 1 rec.) are tied for the team lead with Brandon Marshall.
Murray was originally signed by Green Bay as an undrafted rookie free agent in 2007. He played in 41 games with 32 starts at Division II Truman State, earning first-team All-Mid-America honors in 2006.

He leads the team with 343 rushing yards
That's got to be the lowest total for a RB to lead the team for quite some time.

I think I read somewhere today that if Hillis ends up leading the team with 343, it would be the lowest. I think it said that the lowest is currently 347 (Gerald Willhite).
Screw Jeff Fisher.
He might have given an assist with Cutler....but if he passed on any positive advice on Lowry to Shanny he was sandbagging.
I would rather see Josh get burned than see Calvin in there.

That's weird that we signed a guard.

but but but Lowry is the fast safety that this team has needed since they passed up on Ed Reed. He's fast! That means he can cover and hawk the ball!

Wasn't Hamilton walking around with a heavily bandaged hand?
Seriously though its probably someone they liked and took a chance.

Maybe a sign that McCree could be ready to go Sunday. We wouldn't need 6 safeties on the roster, so if they liked Murray's potential it was a good opportunity to at least stash him on our roster the rest of the year and give him a look in the offseason.

It's a celebration, b!tches. Lowry was quite possibly the worst saftey since Billy Jenkins, and possibly Eric Brown.

i have been pulling for Barrett all year. i only hope that with him possibly starting that if he has ROOKIE growing pains and is a little off, that the team doesn't toss him aside like our other Safeties which we have tossed off the roster.
i want him to have his chance and get more than a couple games to show what he can do.
he has way too much potential and freakish measurables to be given up on by the team.

Where's the scouting on Murray? How long are the arms, how quick the feet? How about the nasty streak? Can he compete for LGOTF? Does this move free up all the 5th rounders for defense? Can he get to the second level? Short yardage push? Somebody give us something!

That was in 1982 when the strike shortened the season to 9 games. Denver went 2-7 that season.

Not much on this guy but here's what I found:
6'3", 315, 5.0 40yd, 34 reps/225 BP
http://media.www.trumanindex.com/media/storage/paper607/news/2007/02/08/Sports/Murrays.Draft.Stock.Steady-2704293.shtml
He's a small college guy with NFL physical measurables but obviously will need a lot of work; ran the 40 with a pulled hamstring and still clocked a 5.1 for scouts but was still injured when he competed in the game. One interesting note...his coach in the Texas vs. The Nation All Star game was Dan Neil so that's probably why we signed him. He's depth insurance and played in the Packers organization so he's seen the same blocking scheme we use.
