Aww.. man I miss this guy. :welcome:

"Clinton Portis unloaded on Jim Zorn during today's John Thompson Show appearance, over and over again. He swore, he suggested maybe he should go on the injured reserve, he offered to become a cheerleader, and he said this, when asked what adjustments should be made."

And I bet he WOULD be a cheerleader, if they offered. :wiggle:

I know.. I meant it when I said I kinda missed him. But he is a real strange fellow. I bet if we hear any off the field news about Portis that is surprising, it will be something like him being in drag in a strip club or something. That sort of thing.

jason campbell has become quite pathetic lately so they just run blitz with no respect towards the passing game. He has no chance lately.

He didn't practice and Betts did, that's why he played.

i dont really get his gripe...he was banged up, didnt practice, so the coach didnt play him

the way i see it, if you don't practice at all, you are telling your coach that you're not healthy enough to play

i think he's frustrated but means well...i like Portis...like maybe more than a friend

Teams always (well, very often) have guys that are too banged up to effectively practice, but come in a play well because they're saving themselves for the game. CP carried this team when he was healthy. Now he's banged up and he's doing all that he can. He's still their best back. I mean, remember just last year when Plaxico Burress never practiced for the Giants but suited up every sunday? That seemed to work out pretty well for them. Or what about Steve McNair's MVP year? You think Jeff Fisher was thinking about sitting him?

I may be a non-caring person... But Portis is one star player I am glad is not on the Broncos... I do not believe he is a team player, a good person, and an athlete I would want my community looking up to.

He is way to much of the "U" I think he and Michael Irvin are my 2 most hated alums from there. I am glad D.J. is not of the same demeanor, though he came from Miami.

what makes you think of him as not being a good person and better yet, comparing him to cokehead Michael Irvin?

Some of my fonder memories as a Bronco fan...

along with the memories of Elway, and the Championships, are Shanahan returning to Denver and being hired as head coach, and...

Portis getting the MF boot out of Denver...

Take away the "N's" and "O's" in his first name and what have you got?

Portis also said earlier this year he wondered what it would be like to play behind a good OL!! LMAO!!! That's endearing himself to his teammates.

If he wanted to play behind a good OL he should have stayed in Denver. He'd still be racking up 1,500 yard seasons.

It's funny, I don't feel that way. Portis was good for this team, I just feel like the Champ trade was better.

My fond memory was Portis racking up five TD's against the Chiefs. Gotta love that.

It's not funny at all. Clinton did nothing but give his best to this team and wanted what he felt was deserved for that effort. I'll admit the kid likes to have some strange fun with his celebrity status, but if that's the only downside to his upside I don't see the problem. As good as he is, however, I still feel Champ is light years ahead of him and do not regret the trade at all. Any Bronco fan with hate in his heart for Clinton is a fool.

Why didn't Portis break off 2K in our system?

He'd still be racking up 1,500 yard seasons.

Even hurt he's on pace for around 1600 this year, which would be his second 1500 yard season since he left.

no...why trade for a RB in his late 20's?

I'd move an average LB for a stud RB even if portis only has 4 years or so left.
