Well, most of them, anyway. http://nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/28089288/
Once again, I don't see the BCS making anybody happy. Let's say Oklahoma beats Florida and USC puts forty points on Penn State? Just as an example. Then, who are the national champs? BCS: Just drop the C.

Vegas did theoretical point spreads last week pitting all top ten teams against each other. USC was the only team favored against everyone else. Florida was favored against everyone but SC.
bcs assures that we never find out. At any rate, Florida will beat Oklahoma.

There's a reason many college fans refer to it as a Mythical National Championship. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mythical_National_Championship
It always has been, and it will be as long as the champion is decided by voters.
Personally this doesn't bother me a lot. NCAA football has always been different, with its dozens of bowls, polls, disparate conferences, etc...and it just doesn't produce clear cut champions like other sports and leagues do.

I firmly believe thatīs one of the main reasons for the popularity of College FB.

Defense wins championships. USC has the best defense. Voila! ;D
Too bad we'll never find out.

USC should schedule at least 2 top non-conference opponents every year.
Otherwise, they will never earn a spot in the title game in the way that teams from superior conferences do.

I think these are some great matchups.
OSU/Tex
OU/FLA
Virginia Tech/C
Alabama/Utah
GT/LSU
NC/WVU
USC/Penn
These are some great games to watch.
9 ACC teams are in bowls, that's interesting for me

You know, its funny that people seem to generally agree with the idea that the bowl system keeps the "regular season" interesting, but what does that say for the bowls, which most people could care less about?
So, you make the season "interesting" for most, but you make the "playoffs" meaningless and redundant?
For all except for two teams in the country, the bowl game is just a fun team vacation and a paycheck for the athletic department.

Here's a system I just thought of in a matter of 30 seconds that I would consider more interesting than college football's backward season...
You remove non-conference play altogether and shorten the season to only conference games and a conference championship.
Then, you institute a 32-team double elimination playoff with seeding based on record and in-conference results. Champs are one seeds.
Play for the championship. Easy.

Well, this will be my 16th straight year of seeing my college team in a bowl, so I don't really look at it that way. But I am one of the haves.
Meaningless Stat:
Only 4 teams have a current streak of 15 straight bowls. 3 teams are going to 16. Can anyone name the 4 with 15 straight bowls. The Hokies are obviously one of them.

I think if a playoff system is implemented you absolutely have to shorten the season by elminateing non-conference play.

Which is yet another reason why the bowl system is goofy. ;D
The ACC is just a notch below the Mountain West.

I disagree with this. Maybe the average sports fan doesn't see the appeal of some of so many bowls, but I think most who follow college football look forward to bowl season and the television revenue proves that they draw plenty of viewers.
It's a great tradition; you get to see interesting match ups you wouldn't otherwise, you have the conference bragging rights on the line, and a bowl win can often determine how a team views its season. End with a win against a good team and you have a lot of positive momentum heading into the offseason and the end of recruiting.
Instead of just OU and Florida fans being invested here at the end, you have 64 fan bases with at least a little something to look forward to. Plus its just great holiday viewing. Tons of (hopefullly) semi-even matchups for several weeks. I grant you, the America isn't waiting in rapt attention for the results of the Holiday Bowl, but I know I'll be watching when Oregon and Okie State play because it should be a fun match up to watch.
Yeah, there may a few too many bowls, but if they are profitable who really cares? Just don't watch if you aren't interested. Even if a playoff is put in, there will be no reason to eliminate the non-BCS bowls.

So none of you guys know the answer:

Oh sure, there are many opportunities to watch barely-competitive sports. Why would I choose to watch? I dont. I will watch the Championship game and maybe the Utah game. Other than that, no interest whatsoever unless Oklahoma is playing in a lesser bowl.
The bowls are meaningless from a competitive standpoint. They are school vacations and the schools end up with AD funds. Much of the time, the bowls have a "pro-bowl" atmosphere.

Some do, some don't. If you can't get excited to watch some more college football then whatever. Personally, I will probably watch close to every bowl game, especially teams from the Pac 10 or other western conferences which are the teams I am most familiar with. The college football season is too short, I want more college football.

I wonder how much more excitement there would be if we we're looking forward to an eight team playoff?

Well. We had a playoff in the ACC, PAC-10, Big 12, SEC, and not in the Big East or Big Ten.
