I'm feeling great. Life is good, bud.

Watching your car vid really makes me want to drive mine. There's still a little to do befire mine is finished. I'm projecting April. With any luck we'll get it down the quarter by spring. Mine wont hook like yours does. I have sub frame connectors and a sway with 5 leaf springs instead of the 4 leaf set up with no sway from the factory. And a set of street tires. I'm looking for a drag radial. I have about 26 inches worth of room under the wheel house. Any suggestions?

The chassis feels strong and tight. I think the tires will go a long way with my set up. It's old school, but it's old school done right, if ya know what I mean.

I'm currently running Mickey Thompson ET Drag 26x10x15 slicks at the track but i've run quite a few different DOT ''track'' tires.

For a stickier than stock tire that will last thru driving but not get the best ET's go with a Nitto Drag Radial

BFG Drag Radials work great on street/strip too, same with the M/T Drag Radial and the Hoosier Drag Radial. All 3 of those will get great ET's and not wear too fast with street driving.

The ET Streets and Hoosier QuickTime Pro are DOT racing tires with soft sidewalls and barely a legal tread at all. These are really just slicks that somehow got a DOT rating - not for street use.

Best of both worlds is an extra pair of rear rims that you can mount your racing tires on - this is how I do it now. Take a jack and some tools to the track and swap tires.

Is that 10 inches at the rim or the contact patch?


Yeah. I'm strongly considering a second set of rims. The wheel I have now I can only put a 265-50 on. Anything bigger and they will rub on the frame rail. That's about a 9 inch contact patch (8in rim) tire I think. Everything else would have to stick outside the fender. I cant afford to run a wide tire on the street cause it will kill the paint. Plus, for the street it just looks better tucked under as much as I can.

Those old Stangs ran 14 inch tires on them and just didn't allow much room for a wide tire.

Nitto doesn't make a size that will work on this car. Or at least, I haven't found it yet. I have considered the hoosier, the M/T and the BFGs. If I remember correctly the Hoosier had the best size for my car.

What rear do you have under your fox?

I have a little 8 inch with a slip diff. and 3.00 gears. The trans is a PA pro street C4. I'm a little worried about the 8 incher. But it acts like it might hold up. If I hook up better, it could be my 1st breakage. I had the rear end and bought the chunk for it. I think the ring and pinion would probably be okay. But the axles seem small. The car is about 2800 lbs or so. I'm optimistic it'll hold together. The 8 inchers were reasonably strong.
