We end up drafting in the 12 spot just like last year.
#1. Laurenitis mlb if hes gone should we take Curry olb or Moore saf.
IMO they all go in 1st.
#2. If we miss on Laurenitis should we take McKillop or malaluggeeee, even if he comes w/ a pink thong .
IMO we have to draft LBs and Safeties out of the wazoo.

Ok. If you are drafting Curry to replace boss. not only did you give boss a truck load of money. you would give a pretty high first round pick yet another boat load of money. If they want to place him at MLB i am ok with but if they think we need to replace boss, then i pass on him. Moore im happy with. Dude is a beast.
As long as Denver tries to repair this defense with a Deal or two in free agency or the whole draft. it has to be done.

Great theory, but the Broncos will go 9-7 and still win the division over the Chargers - who will finish 8-8.

If we draft 12 like last year we will take Will Moore, he will be excellent value and he is just the player we need. Very instinctual, extremely good range, very good cover safety, very good ball skills, big and can hit when he goes in run support.
He is probably the best safety prospect to come out since the one that got away, he is certainly more complete than Laron Landry or Michael Huff.
If we end up 8-8 or 9-7 and draft between 15 and 22 we should look at LB since Moore will be gone and it is a little early for any of the other S prospects. I like Curry the best, Spikes would be solid as well but seems like more a development guy, I would like us to stay away from Laurinaitis or Rey, but we may end up having to pick between the 2 and in that case I have no preference.

I like Moore and Curry, both of them, really like curry Imo hes the only true slb w/ 1st rnd talent in this draft. Worried about boss weather he can come back from knee? Lots of Ilb's and safeties in this draft.

if that happens i say we trade back into the 20's and pick up another 2nd rounder and draft Spikes in the 1st and Curry and Greene in the 2nd
i don't think we should even take a look at Laurinitis or Maualuga

I like Curry, but with a 1st round pick i want him to start immediately, and i worry that if we draft Curry, we have him riding the pine waiting for the inevitable injury that happens to Boss.
I am not really sure that the team would be willing to start a rookie over Boss for fear of pissing off him or Champ. I am under the belief that our defense is married to Boss until we get Champ resigned.
And lets say Boss takes until week 8 to inevitably become injured next season, we are paying a huge 1st round contract for a guy who only plays half the season.
I say take a MLB, or Safety in the 1st. a position that will start immediately.

Its doubtful that Curry would be there in the 2nf. It would be better to take Spikes in 1 and Chung in 2.

Paying huge money for 2 SLB's is just folley anyway. that ties up alot of money. that could be used elsewere
im with you though. MLB and S is what we have to do. unless shanny pull something out of his hat.
I was watching beanie wells today. and my gawd for such a big dude he runs really really well. leaped a CB. had a couple nice spins. Hit the hole hard and fast. picked up yards after contact. i think he is what we need. what we dont need is his liablity to get hurt. which i see happening in the nfl

if we drafted Wells in the 1st i would be absolutley fine with it. we would have a great playmaker that took pressure off of Jay.
and with the LB and S draft class pretty deep, we could still upgrade drafting a MLB and S in the 2nd or 3rd rounds.

We still have 7 games to see what we have w/ hillis. can he run the rock or not. If hes in every down and used correctly ,why have a stokely, use the te.
More worried about de's, IMO neither can stand on the edge to stop the run.
Face it we've got a lot of holes to fill.

If we lose to atlanta today we're on our way to 7-9 season. IMO Shanny and Slowick should start experimenting, Larsen @ mlb dude can wrap up and tackle, WW @ ss maybe see if he can cover he's got the speed, Bring Barrett up from ps get him some game time, it's not like we have anybody in either
safety slot doing anything. Let's find out if we have player's or not??
Good point about boss/champ problem.

Thats true and hopefully Hillis gives everyone the durable yard churning RB they long for. But relying on DEs in the draft is perilous. They should, A) Fire Slowik, and B) put up the cash for Peppers or Suggs (preferrably Peppers).

I agree. One way to fill these holes is thru both FA and the Draft. Denver has to try and sign Julius Peppers (DE) and perhaps Dawan Landry (S) during the FA period.
Then in the draft, Denver needs to turn their attention to (not necessarily in this order) MLB, DT, and another safety in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd rounds.
Lastly, if I were Shanahan and Denver's FO, I would shadow teams like the NY Giants and Baltimore Ravens who have a much better history of scouting, evaluating, drafting, and developing Defensive talent; and if given the opportunity select the defensive players the NYG or Raven had plan to pick and draft them first.

We also need a RB and possibly more than we need a DT. Hopefully Powell can step in and increase his playing time for Robertson who has that knee condition. Not saying we shouldnt draft a DT though.

Robertson, Thomas,Peterson, and powell????. I've watched them play and half the time I think we're going to be OK at DT and the other half I don't know. Maybe its because they're on the field so much. A better running game might help a lot.

Lets start with the fact that our DC is horrid. And youre dead on. We get a lot of 3rd downs. We get a lot of stops on 3rd and short too. And we also allow the a lot of conversions on 3rd and 6 when we give 10 yard cushions.

i am a huge Hillis supporter, but even if he does a good job running the ball for us, i can't see Shanahan keeping him as our RB. he will continue to be our FB who gets a few carries a game. sort of the Denver version of Mike Alstott
