Get ready, folks. If you've been reading this guy's 'change' website, you've seen that his 'agenda' has been proposed, altered, and finally scrapped altogether. First the guy says that youth will be REQUIRED to perform hours of service, then he makes it voluntary. Then he says instead that funding to schools will be directly tied to their starting up 'voluntary' programs for service. Sounds kinda 'mandatory', not voluntary. Finally, the guy just scrapped the whole thing on his site and replaced it with one simple, inane blurb.

EXCLUSIVE: Agenda disappears from Obama Web site
Stephen Dinan (Contact)
Tuesday, November 11, 2008

Over the weekend President-elect Barack Obama scrubbed Change.gov, his transition Web site, deleting most of what had been a massive agenda copied directly from his campaign Web site.

Gone are the promises on how an Obama administration would handle 25 different agenda items - everything from Iraq and immigration to taxes and urban policy - all items laid out on his campaign Web site, www.BarackObama.com.

Instead, the official agenda on Change.gov has been boiled down to one vague paragraph proclaiming a plan “to revive the economy, to fix our health care, education, and social security systems, to define a clear path to energy independence, to end the war in Iraq responsibly and finish our mission in Afghanistan, and to work with our allies to prevent Iran from developing a nuclear weapon, among many other domestic and foreign policy objectives.”

“We are currently retooling the Web site,” said Obama spokesman Nick Shapiro.

The site went active on Wednesday and was available to the public Thursday. The agenda items, which were active for at least part of the weekend, appear to have been deleted by late Saturday.

He did that during his entire campaign. From breaking down Americans is 17 different racial groups to talking about ending the war in Iraq and spending the money on military operations in Africa.

Obamas campaign website is still up and the policies are outlined there.

The change.gov web site is for people to input what they think his policies should be and not to express his stated policies.

In his acceptance speech he said he would listen to the people...this site is one way he will do that. He also states that he will not sign any bill without giving people 5 days to comment on it before signing it.

His stripping the second site of his campaign data is becasue the second site is for a different purpose.
Believe what you will though.

A candidate that will not do everything he promised during the campaign? Gasp! Yet these same yahoos are the ones that supported Dumbya during the last 8 years.

All in favor say "Aye".

This guy is a fugging idiot who still believes Bushisms were just quaint expressions. He's caught up in Bush's butt crack and hasn't left it yet......

He should implement a "idiot deportation clause". Anyone supporting BushCo ideals should be subject to deportation to France.

Get in line!

Nope. I just don't want to see taxes raised on ANYONE. The government needs to learn to spend less money and let the American people keep more of THEIR money.

Then you're saying that the rich and big corporations should continue paying a smaller percentage of their income in taxes than everyone else.

No, I'm saying that tax rates should be reduced for everyone and the government should spend less money. A little fiscal responsibility will bring this country back to being the greatest nation on earth.

FYI...Yes, I DO blame Bush and Congress for going on an unnecessary spending spree.

If I was a big company I wouldn't be paying taxes. I would open a small branch somewhere with low or no business taxes, maybe the Bahamas and then I would let my main Company in the US buy "services and goods" for the same amount of money as I made in profits, thus my US company would have no profits and not be required to pay taxes and my branch in the Bahamas with no taxes would have a huge profit. The good thing about having the company money in the Bahamas is that when I want some money for me, I will just stick them in own private account in the Bahamas and uncle sam will never tax my personal income.

It is simple, it is easy, it is legal and it happens every day.

The Federal Government would call that money laundering. I believe that falls under that category here in the US. Its very Mafioso and I like it but I am pretty sure it will land you in jail, unless you can pay off the politicians of course and get a loop hole porked in.

Ding ding ding!

Plus it begs this question: How is it fair that you and I have to pay federal income taxes but big corporations (who, BTW, are "persons") do not?
