Screw that! He should have been impeached. I am not empathetic to a SOB who lied and cheated us to a war, and who condoned the culture of corruption as this man did. His absolute ignorance of the cultures and beliefs of other parts of the world led to an abysmal foreign policy gaffes and screwups that has lowered the moral leadership this Country had enjoyed.
Without a doubt, he should be scorned and ridiculed for centuries to come as being the Worse President Ever, even below Buchanan.

One of the big reasons that McCain lost is that the Republicans were unable to use the power of the incumbancy to their advantage. The reason for this is obvious: Bush was a terrible president.

I find it funny how many the Dems here wish death on Bush over and over , and in the Thread about the person wanting to Kill Obama , Baja says they should let them out and give them Bush's schedule and that is all just funny and fair ..... But lastnight i watched you all go ape $hit over someone here who made a remark about someone killling Obama and everyone is all Now this has got to stop ....but for 8 years it was fine ....
Definitely have to take threats like this one seriously from now on.
"yea from now on huh , now that it's your boy the rules are different , hypocrite much ..."
Well they got the charges right. Now let him out and give him Bush's schedule.

The only disgrace his treatment constitutes lies in the fact that he's roaming the free world unemcumbered by an orange jumpsuit. Impeachment was the minimum he should have undergone. This guy knowingly sent thousands of our kids to their death because he had a hard on for Iraq and wanted to outdo daddy Bush. His legacy will forever be marked by his lies, cronyism and the fact that he basically destroyed an American city out of sheer incompetence and callous disregard for the people who lived there. I couldn't stand him before he took office, and my level of disrespect for him has deepened exponentially since then. Thank God he's been disgraced...he deserves nothing less.

Oh brother, looks like the idiots still believe the nonsense about Bush lying about WMD's. Try reading the various reports that have come out since that the WMD's were moved to Syria the months before while the U.S. was trying to get the corrupt UN to do something. Not to mention how other countries also stated that Iraq had WMD's, yet it's Bush that lied. I know reading something other than lefty blogs is too much for some, but you might actually learn something for a change and not be brainwashed into ignorance. Again, more examples of the dumbing down of America. "Um, duh, Bush lied." Then so did most of Congress and Bill Clinton who said the same things, yet I know, when they said it, it wasn't lying of course. Geez, like talking to a wall only I think a wall has more sense.

COME on Barry you know Bush is the devil ... he most likely caused the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami to up his death toll count . I personally wouldn't doubt that he created a time machine and went back in time and helped kill Jesus .

Boo ****ing hoo.
It seems that no matter what Mr. Bush does, he is blamed for everything.
He is blamed for what he does, who else would we blame? Joe the Plummer? Fact is Bush is the Prez, the buck stops with him, if **** happens he is the one entrusted by the American People to make sure something is done to clean it up.
They forget the other president with a low approval rating who is maybe slightly more comparable to Bush, Nixon, whom history has proven to be one of the most despicable human beings of all time.

Loyalty is earned. Bush has not earned it, in fact has done the opposite.
The attacks on civil liberties (Patriot Act, military commissions act and MANY executive orders, and signing statements) committed under his administration
are reprehensible. He has done more to damage the constitutional rule of law in the USA than any other president.
Even if Cheney is the real person who orchestrated these acts it was bush that signed his name to them. On the count of violating his oath to "preserve, protect and defend the constitution of the US" alone he should have been impeached.
I have no pity for him and, unfortunately, he will probably never be held liable or accountable in amy court for his policies and violations of the trust he was engendered with. Too bad , really.

No doubt Bush was a bad leader and a bad President. He was too heavy handed, to arrogant, spent too much money, made bad decisions and was otherwise uninspiring.
Having said that the country piled everything that went wrong on him. I can't think of a President that had worst things happen he had no control over. 9-11, Katrina etc. It got to the point everything was Bush's fault. I think for about 2 yrs Obama can still blame most things on Bush, but after that people will expect better.
I for one think Obama in perfect position. Taking over when things are this bad only up is possible IMO.

So does Obama close Guantanamo right away and let everyone there go?
It would be risky to let them go IMO because we know who they are. If they go kill people it will get traced back for sure. Maybe he moves them?
What do people think is going to happen?

I think he will close Guantanamo, but not let all the people go, so much, as give them the trials and representation they are entitled to, without torture, as the SCOTUS ordered Bush to do a while ago. Frankly our case is pretty weak against many held there, and we are liable to have to pay reparations for holding them for so long, on such weak charges and our treatment of them while in our "care".
The really sad thing is that if we do let them go , even the ones who were not truly anti US now will be, voices to rail against us and our policies.
Unfortunately there will be a penalty to pay for this both in world opinion and moral grounds.
Another of Bushes messes to clean up.

He will not close our base in Cuba. And he won't let those people go, but he will extend them protection under the Constitution.

Thats what I meant ...close the detention center down there, not the base.
And follow the SCOTUS directions to afford them their civil rights.
Mr. Bush has endured relentless attacks from the left while facing abandonment from the right.
The right didnt abandon Bush. Bush abandoned the right with the spending, which has gone up what, a trillion since he took office? The comprehensive immigration reform, Harriet Myers, and just flat not defending himself against the attacks. Like he was above it or some shlt.
However, the last few days of his office, I hope he does a Clinton and signs a shltload of executive orders into office, hands out pardons galore, and takes all the Os off the keyboards at the White House.

Even if he didn't lie about WMD's that was the cause of us going into Iraq. This display by Bush, and everyone else laughing is pretty disgusting.

Fact is the American people were sold on Iraq based off of the WMD Argument.
I couldn't care less about Bush as a person. He's a clown, and one of the worst Presidents ever. He and his administration gets what he deserves.
I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt for his first 5 years in office, then I finally realized how much of a negative impact he had on this country.
I will certainly feel this way about Obama or anyone in office if they screwed this country over so bad.

For me, it all starts with the way Bush came into power.
He stole the presidency - twice.
He has never been a legitimate president.

How many times do we have to go over this. President Bush did not steal any elections. Especially the 2000 election. You forget that I know the vigor with which you opposed his election in the first place. Next, you've acted like a complete child most of the time since then. You can't have any kind of rational discussion about politics. Or rather, you won't.

The right abandoned Bush only after the 2006 elections. They needed to save their own asses but two years wasn't long enough to escape the blame. They helped him spend.

The bandwagon started to empty after Katrina.
That's when a lot of the pro-Bush pinheads on this board who were so high and mighty started to disappear (only to return just in time for the 2008 election.)
