I would be really proud to be a Republican: The party of voter suppression. There's something you hang your hat on with pride.
I'm always amazed at the glaring hypocrisy of the Repugs. They call themselves the party that believes in merit, then they try to win by cheating. They call themselves the party of life, when they are the party of the death penalty. The party of morals, when they are the party of bathroom bjs and chasing page boys. The party of values, like Abramoff and Tom DeLay. The party of law, then out a CIA agent to lie your country into a war. Call your economics trickle down when all it does is trickle up. Call your forest destruction plan the Healthy Forests Act. Call your increased pollution plan The Clean Air Act. Name your "spy on Americans" plan the Patriot Act. Call your party the "small government" party and then spend more than any government in history and create the largest deficits of all time. It just goes on and on. Listening to the Republicans you really end up like sitting down to tea with the March Hare and the Mad Hatter. A very merry unbirthday, to you.
It truly fits the definition: Orwellian.

Let's face it Obama is going to win. I don't really care because to me Palin is such a joke the repubs deserve to lose.
But if McCain somehow won it would be so much funnier. I don't think Republicans are going to be very upset if McCain loses. But if Obama lost Oh my oh my it would be very entertaining.

If McCarthy (I mean McCain) wins then there will be little doubt in anyone's mind that the election was stolen.
Therefore, you are basically saying that you find the subversion of our democratic process "entertaining."

You think he doesn't? He's made comments on this very board about hoping the GOP finds a way to steal this election.

Geez, more MSNBC garbage.
Let's face it, if ANY of what she says is true, and likely not, it is just standard "smear the Republicans" garbage -- It's MSNBC, what do you expect -- then the people that actually believe those statements are too stupid to vote and shouldn't be allowed to vote.
That piece was blatantly partisan commentary, with little or no fact behind it.
Did fliers exist? If so, then prosecute the people behind it, just like Acorn is being investigated for their illegal activities. Don't use a broad brush and condemn every non-liberal, and insinuate that ONLY the GOP is guilty of election fraud. We all KNOW that both parties play dirty pool and all that do, should be held accountable.

Breakdowns Expected in Multiple Swing States
The National Journal has a good piece (http://www.nationaljournal.com/njonline/rg_20081103_3928.php) on likely voting problems today. Here are some of the highlights (lowlights?).
Colorado: Public-interest groups have sued the state because 35,000 voters have been illegally purged from the rolls. Also, the voting equipment was decertified and then immediately recertified. To top it off, the secretary of state has been barely doing his job since he is campaigning for Congress (and supervising his own election).
Florida: Many voters will be using the third type of voting machine in as many presidential elections, machines that lost 3500 votes in the August primary in a single county. Also, 12,000 voters have been purged from the roles because their voting data does not match other state data bases, often due to clerical errors.
Ohio: The (Democratic) secretary of state, Jennifer Brunner, has been involved in half a dozen lawsuits over 200,000 voters whose registration data do not match other state data bases (as in Florida). She has won most of them, including one in the Supreme Court, but these battles could lay the groundwork for GOP challenges if McCain loses the state.
Pennsylvania: The voting machines here do not produce a paper trail so no recount is possible. Futhermore, the allocation of machine and poll workers is a contentious issue (putting few resources into poor areas creates long waits during which time some voters give up and go home). There were large numbers of flyers distributed in Philadelphia saying that Republicans should vote on Tuesday and Democrats on Wednesday to reduce the crowds. This could form the basis of a legal challenge in the unlikely event of a McCain win.
Virginia: The NAACP sued the state over the allocation of resources. State law requires one machine per 750 voters. Assuming it takes 5 minutes to vote, it would take the 750 voters 62.5 hours to vote, so some of them will still be voting on Friday. Problems are also expected with student voters.

:spit: You're right. We're all jerks. In fact every Republican you meet not only approves of these practices but has attempted it themselves at least five times. Also, Democrats never cheat. No sir. Busing in people to vote out of state and illegal immigrants being herded into the polls are never practiced by the saintly left. It's really all the Republicans, who are all EVILLLLLLL and will eat your babies.
