View Full Version : Pre-Bye Week Ass Kicking Good For Team?

I got to thinking. Denver got thoroughly manhandled against the Pats, and are now in the middle of a 2 week wait to play again where the only football on their minds is getting destroyed by the Pats gnawing at them for 2 weeks, before they play again.

i know from my own experience, in any case where i screwed up and knew i could do better, i have always gotten that motiviation to show people up and prove myself. it gnaws at me, just like it gnaws at any person with pride.

I can only think we have a team full of young guys who have that type of attitude and pride. Maybe this loss can have the affect of getting our team pissed off and amped up with the knowledge that they can play better, that they are capable of throwing up 40 points on offense, and capable of getting to the QB as they showed against the Pats capable of limiting an offense like they did against Oakland and Tampa.

Every week they show different phases of the game they are capable of doing well, they just need to bring it all together, and I hope this bye week could be the perfect thing for this team to turn it around.

it's all good for team to be motivated but that isn't enough in NFL. The other teams players are going to likewise be motivated.

Unless Cutler and Marshall can make some big big plays it will be tough to get wins. Defense is going to be scary bad without Champ.

see i think that Cutler and Marshall are going to want to prove they are better than they have shown the past few weeks. Cutler was on MVP type pace and Marshall was on record setting pace to begin the season. they are going to want to go out and kick some ass and show this last month was not who they are.

I got to thinking.
That was your first mistake...

It was good like it would be good if your grandma got slugged in the head with a brick on her way to church by some street punk who stole her social security check so now she knows to carry a .38 in her purse but has permenant brain damage so she can't figure out how to use it. The only thing "good" about that abortion is that it might help hasten the departure of our clueless defensive staff and some equally clueless players.

Is pissed off and disorganized any better than happy and disorganized?

The disorganization is still there, it looks like it will haunt us all season, even if we luck into the AFCW championship.

The bye week gives you a couple weeks to retool, but will they?
Really the health of Stokley, Scheff, Royal, and even Selvin will make the biggest difference. Let's see if Cutler can mature and make some better decisions.

The defense is what it is. Let's just try our best to keep from being the all time historically worst defense in NFL history (we're on track for the seventh worst ever right now).

I love my Broncos, and I think they could run the table if they get it together, but they just aren't as far along as I thought they would be.
