I don't get it either. You'd think they could have landed at least a second-round pick for him or something.

Maybe they already looked into it and just decided the comp pick and clean hands was the best way to do it.

Just as CJ Anderson meant the eye test to many of us here so did Siemian meet the eye test to many of us. I have a fair amount of hope that Siemian can emerge as starter after training camp or maybe by mid season. If not I think Sanchez will be just fine for us.

You really felt it necessary to post "On Haden's best day, he's better than Peterson on his worst"?

You're arguing nothing just to hear yourself.

So, yes, just stop.

Seriously, you took umbrage with my opinion that Haden when healthy(not on his best day)is better than an unfocused Patrick Peterson when his own coach called him out about his play...

That comment is no different than me saying that a healthy CJ Anderson is better than an unfocused Eddie Lacy.

If you don't like the comment then don't read it. It was a valid statement and your respond is beyond ridiculous. You have some severe hang ups about certain players.

Maybe mid-season, once our QB suck is on front street and the hard times flush the chump. Sieman did look good, but it was pre-season. The only thing you can believe from the pre-season is that if someone looks bad, they are bad. If someone looks good it doesn't mean anything, and that's especially true for QBs.

Colt Brennan was ridiculous for Washington in the preseason. It meant nothing at all.

I share the same hopes as you, and he definitely showed enough to get put on the roster for protection. But I'm certain that he's got a lot of developing to do before he is seriously considered for the starting QB unless our other options tank on us, which is a very distinct possibility.

NE got Collins and Ryan, Bal got Brandon Williams and Wagner, Det got Slay and Ziggy.

Few other teams got a couple but in general that was a bad draft.

Cincy got Eiffert and Bernard as well as Burkehead later. That was pretty solid for them.

Sal Paolantonio was a call in guest last evening on Philly's number one evening drive sports radio show. He said the biggest mistake Eagles' GM Howie Roseman made in the Bradford ordeal was letting John Elway hang up the phone when he called him back before the draft. He should have stayed on the phone until a deal was made because it's a deal that would have helped solve both teams' problems. Now, the Eagles are stuck with a seemingly untenable situation with Bradford while the Broncos are stuck with Mark Sanchez as their starting QB.

He's been injured so hard to say what he'll do for the Patriots. Low risk deal if you ask me. Got rid of Jones and his $8 mil salary, got a 2nd round pick, and assumed Coopers $675K and if he makes the roster another $1.1 mil. Low risk, high up-side. I like those deals. Get him under Scarnecchia and maybe we see his potential.

Love that gif. Just watch Miller's eyes read where the QB is going with the ball. He first plays inside coverage, Brady sees this and decides Gronk is open, Miller reads Brady's eyes and knows he going outside, Brady throws, Miller rolls to the outside and picks it off.

Free agent DT Amobi Okoye (illness) is hoping to make an NFL comeback.
Okoye was placed in a medically induced coma for three months in 2013 after being diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease which caused seizures and convulsions during workouts. Okoye's recovery included relearning basic functions like speaking, walking and eating, but he is now back up to 300 pounds and fully cleared for football activities. Okoye was cut by the Cowboys in April of 2015 and has not played a snap since 2012. He faces long odds of an NFL return, but we wish him the best of luck.

Is Marshawn Lynch a Hall of Famer?

No way is Lynch a Hall of Famer. He revitalized his career after his injuries and moving to Seattle, were he had 4 good seasons and really only 1 great season.

He was very good in the post-season, but not on a guy like TD's level who also won league and SB MVPs and still isn't in so I don't see how Lynch even gets a sniff honestly.

Lynch was never the best RB in the league, he got a lot of hype for the powerful way he runs and his not talking to the media worked in his favor with his popularity.

The great thing I remember about TD was how often he would make the cut for the hole before the hole was there. Like Gretzky once said, he didn't go to where the puck was, he went to where it was going to be. So few players get to that level. Even the best runners today wait for the hole to open. TD knew where the hole was going to be and when it opened, he was already through it. That's what they mean when they say "vision." TD had it.

I remember sitting in the north EZ seats in a game against San Diego. The Broncos had the ball at about the 20. It looked like some kind of pitch to TD around what was the Broncos left. It looked as is the entire Chargers line had converged on the play, just a wall of defense, and you could feel everybody kind of sigh and sit down. Then you see TD pop right through the mess on the sideline, make a couple of jukes, and he's coming right at us for the TD... stops in the EZ and salutes us. Craziness ensues!

Never forget that moment.

The Lions acquired linebacker Jonathan Bostic from the New England Patriots on Monday for a conditional seventh-round choice in 2017.

There has never been a coach and more specifically a gm that has left New England and har success(obrien is the closest). I think they are all part of a Masonic like cult led by belicheat and Ernie Adams and they just try to make foolish trades to help the pats and destroy their current teams.

And patience if the hole didn't magically appear it often would somewhere else and he had the patience for it. It's one thing I noticed with Booker, he has patience.

He was probably so afraid of Gibbs yelling at him if he didn't trust the OL blocks.

I remember going to my 1st game in Denver in 95 vs the Cards and it was Dive, Dive Dive and by the half he had 90 yards. Positive yards every touch. That is why I hate backfield dancers so much.

Melvin Gordon - RB - Chargers
The San Diego Union-Tribune reports Melvin Gordon underwent microfracture surgery in January.
We knew Gordon went under the knife in January, but the specifics of the operation were not reported. Microfracture surgery carries an ominous history, but several players in recent years including Travis Kelce and Vontaze Burfict have come back from the operation as good as new. The Union-Tribune reports there does not seem to be much concern in the building about Gordon's short- or long-term health, and Gordon participated in on-field drills Monday, saying there is "no question" he will be ready for training camp. Gordon's recovery will be important to watch, but there does not appear to be much cause for concern right now.

The issue with most of the other GM's and coaches is that they attempted to run their teams in exactly the same manner that Belicheck runs the Pats.

That's not going to work. They didn't know any other way to do it and they failed because they could not match his success.
Another issue is that neither of them had a QB worth a damn.
Stafford is the best QB a Patriots off-spring has had, McDaniels would have had Cutler but he wanted Cassell instead.

It will be very interesting to see how Quinn does things in Detroit.
He probably landed 5-6 immediate starts in this years draft(Decker, Glasgow, Killebrew, Williams and Robinson with Dahl potentially getting in the mix)
The roster is devoid of talent with so many bust coming during Mayhew's regime.

Not having even a decent QB much less Brady has been the issue but I think Bill O'Brien will be the most successful Belichick disciple. Oz is easily the best QB prospect any of the former Pats coaches have had to work with.

Think Decker had the lisfranc, DT was just a fractured bone in his foot. Normal but not ideal for a first round pick who was 6-3 228 at the time.

From ESPN:
http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/15560867/atlanta-falcons-offer-lowest-concession-prices-major-team-sports-new-mercedes-benz-stadium

Atlanta Falcons fans might encounter sticker shock when they attend their first game in Mercedes-Benz Stadium next year. That's because the team announced Monday that it will offer what will amount to the lowest concession prices at the major-sports-team level.

A bottomless soda, which will come with free and unlimited refills, will cost $2 -- the same cost as a bottle of water, popcorn and a pretzel. A slice of pizza, peanuts and fries will be $3 each, while a cheeseburger will cost $5. A chicken tenders basket will cost $6.

Making Concessions

Atlanta's new Mercedes-Benz Stadium, when it opens in 2017, will offer the lowest-priced concessions at the major sports team level:
ITEMS COST COST
Classic Hot Dog $2 Waffle Fries $3
Pizza Slice $3 Classic Cheeseburger $5
Nachos $3 Chicken Tender Basket $6
Snacks Cost Cost
Pretzel $2 Popcorn $2
Peanuts $3
Beverages Cost Cost
Regular Coca-Cola** $2 Dasani Bottled Water $2
Souvenir Coca-Cola** $4 12 oz. Bud Light $5
** Comes with free/unlimited refills
>> All prices include sales tax
"We'll be able to feed a family of four at our games for $27," said Steve Cannon, CEO of the AMB Group, the family of businesses owned by Arthur Blank that includes the Falcons, Atlanta United and the new stadium that will open in 2017. "That's 60 to 70 percent cheaper than our competitors."

Cannon said the team had a discussion as to how low it could go on the beer, so as not to hurt the fan experience, and arrived at $5 for a 12 ounce cup of a product such as Bud Light.

"In any fan survey, food and beverage is one of the most important drivers of fan experience and the one that is the most broken," Cannon said. "It's either lack of quality, lousy delivery or bloodcurdling pricing."

Cannon said the pricing was arrived at by studying the greater Atlanta marketplace and, at the very least, matching the prices that fans would pay in the area in everyday life.

The Falcons hope to make up some of the money lost on typical margins by doing volume. There will be 670 concession points in the new stadium, which is 65 percent more availability than the team has in the Georgia Dome. Soda refill stations will be separate from lines for those ordering for the first time. Prices, including tax, are right on the dollar, meaning there's no change to be made, thus speeding up the transaction time.

The prices also could serve as an incentive for fans to buy tickets. While Cannon said the concession prices aren't to achieve a greater goal, the Falcons have had a harder time selling seats in the upper bowl for its new stadium. The most expensive seats, $45,000 PSLs on the 50-yard line, are sold out.

Unlike most teams, selling concession rights in exchange for guaranteed cash, Blank -- who had often talked about making concession prices match those offered to patrons at Augusta National for the Masters -- didn't make that deal. Instead, his company forged an operator relationship with Levy Restaurants that comes with a flat management fee. That allowed the team creativity to make the drastic change.

Cannon said the stadium will have premium food items as well, as deals are currently being negotiated with Atlanta's top chefs and restaurateurs. He said that those prices also will match what the items cost in the outside world without additional markup.

The prices will be the same for concerts and other events in the stadium, including the 2018 College Football Playoff Title Game and the 2020 Final Four.

Raider's were the #22 defense last year. Still a ways to go - don't know if Sean Smith and Bruce Irvin's average 5.5 sacks per year will get you to #1.

Mack Probably won't be able to get another highlight reel game off a terrible tackle like that again.

That Raiders front 7 is going to be very solid and disruptive and they improved in the back end, as well (even factoring in the retirement of Woodson)...they narrowed the gap, but I still don't see them as a formidable playoff team.

That team is just waiting for a couple bad things to happen so they can collapse.

Meh everyone thinks their defense will be dangerous. It has potential on paper, yes, but so did the Broncos under JDR and they were underwhelming. Plus people forget Aldon Smith is suspended for essentially the whole 2016 season. Mack is good but he is not the second coming the media makes him out to be. A third of his sacks came in one game against a practice squad tackle, if you can even consider Schofield practice squad material.

Raiders will be good but media makes it seem like their defense is on par with Denver's.

Mack is good but 1/3 of his sacks came against the great T, in Schofield.

Did make alot of improvements, mainly on defense but takes time to gel. Did like their draft with Ward, Joseph and Calhoun.
