I think the number of stars or bigger name players suffering them are higher but not the overall injury rate itself.
ACL's, torn pecs and achilles pretty much remain at the same level every season. It's when a star player suffers it that every pays attention.

Cornerback Morris Claiborne skipped the Dallas Cowboys' walk-through practice and angrily left the club's Valley Ranch training facility Tuesday after being informed that Orlando Scandrick was replacing him in the starting lineup, multiple sources said.

Claiborne's demotion came a few hours after Jerry Jones said on his weekly radio show that the third-year cornerback had not been worth the sixth pick of the 2012 draft, which Dallas moved up to acquire.

For his tackling ability alone I would sign him and let one of those 2 walk, I would keep Webster but inactive until he gets his **** off field together and can prove to be more worthy. The problem is that Bolden plays ST's, Champ would have to at this point.

He would have to come at the Vet Min as well.

If no one brings Champ in for a try out what does that say about him? Either he wants too much money ( reason Denver cut him), or he no longer has the ability to play in this league ( the other reason Denver cut him).

Champ should have said he was going to switch to safety or nickle right after last year, and had his agent say he was open to a much reduced salary before the March cut day. Instead he thought that Denver would just go along and fork over another 10Million.

He couldn't make NO s roster, even against rookies. And the Foot injury that held him out a lot of Preseason sounds a lot like the injury of last year. A tough injury and one that doesn't heal well.

If he'll go vet minimum he likely gets a tryout....but he really isn't better than any of our guys ( maybe Bolden) and he won't, or can't, play Special teams. ( I think its can't cause his body just won't hold up.).

Champs contract for 2014 was 10 million. If he was on the roster they would have had to pay him that. I guess they thought he would not renegotiate and did not want to offer him an amount he would have felt was insulting. And I do not, for one minute, think he would have accepted less than 5 million. He still had the thought that he was a starting CB in the NFL, which is what he said after the Superbowl, whereas before it he had said that he might consider moving to safety if asked.

I seriously doubt that there was NO discussion at all with his agent, or him, so saying that he wasn't offered anything may be true , without revealing that he might have been asked if he was willing to take a substantial pay cut and said no. At that point the Broncos did what they had to, and cut him.

I had not seen that USA article. And I am not defending Champ, as I was one that thought he was done and a problem before last year started. He is not a capable corner , as you said. And the article actually supports my statement that he still thought he was a starting corner after the superbowl, with a token maybe on the safety move.

Agree that its time for him to retire. Some players don't get that the gravy train ends.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Lions and impending free agent DT Ndamukong Suh are heading for a split.

Suh is essentially in the final year of his rookie contract as 2015 is a voidable year. PFF's No. 2 NT/DT in 2013 and No. 4 in 2012 is prepared to move on and is going to break the bank on the open market. They played like our team has been. Get out to an early lead. Ease off while letting the other team back in it. Then close out the game for the win. That mean our opponents as good as the Broncos? KC?

Some draft picks are inexcusable. Spending a first round pick on EJ is one of them.

Jerry Jones has done one thing right for sure....and it was investing a lot of high draft picks on the offensive line, as they can block their asses off.

Indeed, their OL was trash for years before they actually started to pay attention to the OL.

This is something I have never understood. Why do teams always try to skate over the OL and hope low round picks pan out to help.
If you invest heavily in the line then more often than not it pans out when you make the right picks.

It drives me nuts when a team has a huge investment in a QB and then you ignore the OL. If you are not going to protect the QB and surround him with weapons then do not be surprised if he flames out.

Only minority women voted in a majority for Obama. 59% of white women voted for Romney, 39% for Obama.

And yes, this administration has done, and will continue to do whatever it takes to push gender inequality all the way through the mid-term election. Don't get it twisted. They must turn out minority women voters to regain control of the senate.

I'm sorry....so, only white women count? Who cares what percentage were white?

And guess what, there's gender inequality! And don't act like only the democrats push an agenda to get votes. This is as old as politics!

Couldnt you spin that the other way? That a lot of these white women are voting against him because they dont like the color of his skin?

But then again, i think white woman have voted republican for a while now, its not just an obama thing.

But, honestly, and i dont think this is arguable, i don't get why many Americans vote the way they do. Often times, they are completely voting against their self interests. The majority of americans have no real clue as to what's actually going on, so they are voting on something much simpler. Perhaps that's religion, or maybe because republicans are seen as "tough" while democrats are viewed as "effete," but its still odd.

All politicians lie and manipulate. That is their job.
They keep secrets and tell the public everything will be fine.
This has been politics since the empires of Rome.

The only reason you dislike one politician or like another is because their lying is more in tune with your personal beliefs.
All of them lie, you say what you need to for the election and then when you get in office you have to toe the line and make sure the powers that be are kept happy.

It doesn't. You stated that "Republicans push women away", and it's not true. White women voted in a 20% landslide for Romney.

When every commercial from Mark Udall is about how "they want to take birth control away from you." When in fact, nothing could be further from the truth. When a video, or rape case prompts campaign visits from the VP, it doesn't take a genius to see that this administration relies on lies and manipulation to drive their agenda.

If you want to talk about how skin color influenced voting, 96% of black women voted for this president. I can guarantee you race and free handouts had MUCH more influence on Obama voters than probably any presidential race in the history of the US.

Wednesday will be a big day for Carson Palmer

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/09/29/wednesday-will-be-a-big-day-for-carson-palmer/

Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer said last week that he’s “definitely” playing against the Broncos after missing the last two Arizona games with a nerve problem in his right shoulder.

Coach Bruce Arians sounded a bit less convinced while discussing Palmer’s status on Monday.

I personally would prefer Palmer to Stanton. Stanton can scramble and those scrambling QB's have been giving us fits.

I sure wish we had Danny T back, then those run 1st QB's would be less likely to give us fits. The real problem is when Brandon Marshall gets faked out of his jock and then caught up in the wash allowing those run 1st QB's lanes to run.

I would rather play Stanton, I think we will. Would like to see Palmer out there looking like Manning did vs the Falcons though throwing up a couple picks.

Bill Belichick never hides his disdain for the media, typically approaching the process of answering questions like a bad ventriloquist. Even at times when perhaps it would be a good idea to curry the favor of the folks who are in position to heap criticism on the man who has presided over the erosion of the New England roster, Belichick continues to display condescension and irritation when dealing with reporters.

To his credit, Belichick is consistent. He’s unwilling to cooperate when things are going well, and he’s unwilling to cooperate when they aren’t.

Case in point: His Wednesday press conference, with memories still fresh of Monday night’s debacle at Arrowhead Stadium. Here’s the relevant exchange, from the transcript provided by the team.

Q: Your team has been successful for so long. How difficult is it to adjust to the adversity of Monday night’s game and get back on track? This team and organization hasn’t had these sort of issues in the past.

Belichick: We’re on to Cincinnati.

Q: You mentioned Tom Brady’s age at the draft –

Belichick: We’re on to Cincinnati.

Q: Do you think having a 37-year old –

Belichick: We’re on to Cincinnati. It’s nothing about the past, nothing about the future. Right now we’re preparing for Cincinnati.

Q: Do you think the talent you have here is good?

BB: We’re getting ready for Cincinnati.

Q: Do you think you’ve done enough to help Tom Brady?

Belichick: We’re getting ready for Cincinnati. That’s what we’re doing.

It was ultimately a useless exchange. The answers suggest that the reporters were trying to get Belichick to focus on what went wrong against the Chiefs. The questions actually focused more on the future, with a 37-year-old quarterback, real concerns about the quality of the roster, and real questions about Belichick’s personnel decision.

At least he didn’t say, “I’m trying to be a good teammate.”

So McDaniels benches his wideout for mouthing off. That guy lacks real people skills. When he came here he said he wanted to hire teachers who taught players how to play. But he sure seems to run his crap like a dictator with a tiny peen trying to compensate. Aaron Dobson might be an insubordinate jerk. I truly don't know. I do know that the Patriots offense sucks balls and McDaniels is a bad mix of poor people skills and a short temper.

And why can't the Patriots draft well, especially wide receivers?

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The toxicology report shows former Tennessee Titans kicker Rob Bironas had a blood alcohol content nearly twice the legal limit for driving in Tennessee when he died in a one-vehicle crash.

Testing released Friday by the Davidson County Medical Examiner's Office shows Bironas had a blood alcohol level of 0.218 percent. Tennessee's limit for driving under the influence is 0.08 percent. The toxicology report also says a low level of Diazepam or Valium also was detected, but at a level so low to have a "negligible effect," according to a release.

One has to wonder what kind of personal demons he was battling. Hot ass wife, made millions playing football and could likely have found a job as a broadcaster later on.

Tax loops are tax loops but Exxon is a for profit, publicly traded company that people buy stocks in.

They're not tax loopholes....they're tax laws. If the corporation does what the law says it can legally do, then it's not a loophole.

The IRS is a joke and needs to be done away with completely. But that is a topic for another forum.

As I always say. It's not a crime unless you get caught. Before that it is simply a matter of morals and opinion. ;D

The Redskins name is fine, I do have a problem with paying more taxes than the NFL though.. Non profit my ass.

the teams pay taxes. the NFL is just an umbrella organization of the teams that decides the future direction of the league. the activities of this NFL "organization" are not profit generating.

the activities of each team that are profit generating, pay taxes.

Lol, suck it Nawlins.

They let a lot of talent go in order to sign Byrd. That one's gonna leave a mark, at least for this season.

Why? The only reason we even know his name is because he played for the pats. Had he sucked for Tampa Bay, he probably isn't mentioned in the thread

He seemed to be one of the few players who Brady trusted, had a solid rookie year.

And made some plays when he's on the field.

Not saying he's Calvin or anything but he's a good depth-player.

Jay Glazer just said that even if Harbaugh wins the Super Bowl, there's no way he's coming back next season. Wow
