Agreed.

Seattle's fanbase should be somewhere near the bottom. They are arrogant, often incredibly ignorant, infested with bandwagoners, general blowhards and don't have a particularly special history of support.

They are kind of like LA fans that way.

Forbes had them 9 nowhere near the bottom. Using an extra broad brush on Hawk fans.

We spend our money on the team for the same reason many of us have tens of thousands of posts here over the course of almost 15 years rain or shine.

Because we care about the club rain or shine and therefore are a superior fan than you.

Any douchebag can root for a team when they are good. Are you sure you aren't a fan of LA teams in other sports? Because you are a garbage quality fan and would fit in nicely rooting for LA teams.

I have no clue why fans find virtue in supporting teams that are bad. When the Seahawks suck again me and my hard earned money will be nowhere near them.

This is a very telling statement.
1. you understand nothing about loyalty, whether its about a team or other people you clearly don't get the concept of standing by something during good, bad or difficult times. If you don't support something, a belief, a friend, a team, whatever during both you are not someone worth knowing because anything will send you running.
2. So when your team starts losing you outright say "you and your money" will be nowhere near them. Then later in post you say you will still cheer for them but not attend games or buy their gear. You backtrack in some very weak sauce fashion.

My only hope in this is that when your team starts to lose again, and rest assure they will because all teams go through seasons of losing, that you will also take your loser ass whining bull**** away from this board too. I'd ask for it sooner, but you seem like a huge douchebag who will stay way too long at a party when nobody actually invited them to it to begin with.

In summary for your simpleminded idiocy: You are a loser with no loyalty to anything, please stop posting here and go find a Seahawks fan board to abandon when the team starts losing again.

But Flowers is taking a long-term view as he works back from an undisclosed leg injury. During the 2013 campaign with the Chiefs, Flowers played with a knee issue. He would not say if the two injuries are related."

http://espn.go.com/blog/san-diego-chargers/post/_/id/6150/flowers-targets-return-to-the-field-vs-seahawks

And this is why he was cut from the Chiefs. That leg injury has been going on since 2012 and he's not the same player. Paying this guy the big money he was due this year would have been monumentally stupid.

Oh, and we kinda needed money for that Jamaal Charles guy. Pretty sure he deserves it more than Flowers.

So you're out on parole?

It is not like they used all that money to keep Albert or pay Houston, instead Charles forces their hand to pay him at a time when they needed to pay others to upgrade or solidify their team.

You know a hurt Flowers is still better than Hot Trash Cooper and the other no names on that secondary.

I can see why their FA's would rather retire than suffer through on a bad franchise.

EPIC!

It will be worth it for them what ever it cost. More so then anyone else.

I could see them giving up a 3rd. Not sure if they'd give up a 2nd. Maybe make it conditional on the Rams making the playoffs with Sanchez as the starting QB. I wonder how much confidence the Rams have in Shaun Hill? Some big decisions to be made with the entire season in front of them.

The returner is only protected before the catch. After that there is no defenseless player, no being protected in the pocket, You cannot hit them before the catch and you cannot wedge. That is about all of the rules.

From 2011-2013 9 of the 12 draft picks made after the 3rd round are still with the team.
2 are entrenched as starters and are studs at their position.
So I wouldn't say they are not likely to make the team.

OL will have Clady, Clark, Manny, Vaz, Cornick (if he makes the team), Painter (same), Paradis (year on the PS if he isnt snatched), under contract.

DB will mainly be at safety.

OL I mainly mean OG and OC, OG if Franklin isn't re-upped and even if he is you need some more depth. C, competition for Manny and a guy who can swing between OC and OG.

DB I think we will potentially need a CB and a S, SS has a hole behind Ward and while we have Roby, Talib, Harris and Webster we will need another guy to compete for that 5th CB spot and potentially help out with the nickel D.

The Seahawks have now earned a reputation for dirty play. That means they are going to face teams who are on edge and ready for a fight. That **** can go too far and end up costing you over the long haul of a season. In other words, they'll get as good as they give and won't make it through the season intact.

Where did you learn the Seahawks have a reputation for dirty play? I have not heard that anywhere except the Orange Mane. Very physical and tough but dirty? Almost impossible for any team to make it throughout the season intact weather they are dirty are not. NFC West is definitely a different brand of football in the old days it was just considered hard nosed football. With the new emphasis to protect Denver style finesse offenses because people want to see scoring it is going to be tough for a defense to be dominant like Seattle was last year. We should still get to see plenty of smash mouth football in the NFC West at least for now.
Don't forget the rule they had to put in for Denver several years ago because they were cut blocking everyone now I remember that being widely reported as being dirty.

Several instances exhibit dirty play, but just yesterday I posted in this thread how they speared a kick returned at the start of the 4th quarter in the last game. It was a 15yd penalty, but the team and coaches were all cheers and slapping him on the ass and helmet for job well done. Dirty.

I wouldn't call the Seahawks dirty. They are rough and tumble, they will punish you and you will get punked at times while also getting trash talked.
They remind me of some of the older NFL defenses, they want you to remember the feeling of playing them, even if you win. Del Rio was the same way with the Jags, other teams hated playing them because they beat you down.

You are spot on. The sad thing about this is that it seems to me the league is taking a PR strategy that encompasses a statement of "we are handcuffed by what was negotiated with the NFLPA for testing"

That is fine and well, but Goodell isn't necessarily bound by negotiated policy for disciplinary issues not related to substance abuse. In an area where he CAN be unprecedented he has failed miserably.

The only area where he has been swift and heavy handed is multiple offenders. But that is all driven around "protecting the shield........ And it's profits"

http://i.imgur.com/y02TGBJ.jpg

These are the number of hits each QB has taken over the last two seasons. Luck has taken the most in the league.

Last year Indy QBs were hit 109 times (third most). Broncos QBs were hit 54 times (second fewest.)

So, unless their O-line has drastically improved (and it doesn't look like it has), the Broncos should have a lot of opportunities to get to the QB.

The Colts drafted a tackle with the first pick they had in the second round, but then realized he was better at guard, and now he's an injury concern and already had one knee operation. The rest of their line are better run blockers than pass blockers. Of course, Luck tends to hold the ball too long and likes to run as well, so that might account for some of those hits.

They're a very good team no doubt but it takes a little luck to win it all. The Seahags we're nearly fully healthy rolling into the NFCC and they were fully healthy for the SB. This douchebag has way too much power and makes up the rules as he goes along.

I think this is new domestic violence initiative is as much bull**** as was the two game suspension for Ray Rice.

It's a complete overreaction by Roger Goodell, one of the biggest douchebags I've ever seen.

I don't like the guy, he's a smarmy douche.

There are going to be so many players getting hosed in this initiative....I abhor domestic violence against women and don't advocate it in any way....but a LOT of these cases are going to be women who call the police on their man when they get in argument as a way to get back at them....or they'll start swinging on their man and if he defends himself in any way, they'll call the cops.

How is this going to be adjudicated? If some poor a-hole's girlfriend or wife calls the cops during a heated argument and claims she got pushed or hit will that count as 6 games?

If that happens and a player has already gotten a 6 game suspension.....what kind of power is that going to leave the girlfriend or wife when she knows a call to the police and a fabricated story could lead to a lifetime ban for the poor a-hole whose life they are trying to ruin.

Beating women is wrong and needs to be punished accordingly, but this looks like it has the potential to turn into a cluster**** of monumental proportions.

Roger Goodell is going to ruin the NFL....not just with this initiative, but for collectively all of the bull**** he's done/doing.

Dude has way too much unchecked power.

I may take some **** for saying this, but this is a complete knee jerk overreaction by Roger Goodell.

Yes, he does. And that much power in a single individual's hands typically does not yield positive results.

Derek Carr had an almost flawless game for the Raiders last night....11/13 for 143 passing yards with 3 TDs and 0 INTs.

I know it was in the final preseason game against scrubs, but it's still a bright spot for the Raiders in an already bleak season lol.

Matt Schaub has a sore elbow, he's played like **** in the preseason, and his confidence is shot.

I think it's Derek Carr time already.

I'd start Derek Carr in Week One....what do the Raiders have to lose....besides more games?

The sooner Derek Carr get in there and starts getting experience, the better the Raiders will be in the future.

The Raiders took him at the top of the 2nd round to be their franchise QB.

If Matt Schaub was looking good or merely competent, it would be a different story, but he has a sore elbow and still looks shell shocked from last season, when he established himself as the King of the Pick Six.

If Matt Schaub were in the Game of Thrones, House Schaub's sigil would be a drawing of a defensive back running one of his pick sixes into an end zone of fire.

They'd be better off with Derek Carr or Matt McGloin over Matt Schaub.

Why Reggie McKenzie signed Matt Schaub and gave him $8 million guaranteed for this season is beyond me.

They've made repeated mistakes like that at the QB position and have handed out millions to them for minimal ROI....Matt Flynn is still laughing his ass off.

Start Derek Carr and stick with him for a while.

Harvey made sure he was never actually convicted of a domestic violence charge.

You could look it up.

Same with Ray Rice.

I watched the Raiders first couple of drives and I was amazed to see Seahawks starters like Earl Thomas and Richard Sherman out there. Thomas was ran over by Latavius Murray about 3 times on one drive. Sherman got beat on a Carr back shoulder throw to I believe Denarius Moore. The Raiders moved the ball with ease. I know it's just preseason but I kind of wonder if the Hawks have lost a bit of their edge. Looking forward to the Packer/Seahawk game Thursday. Should be a good one.

Yeah I was scratching my head seeing the Seahawks playing their starters in the fourth preseason game. Carroll is weird. And odder still was seeing them get destroyed. Derek Carr looks legit. One of the few times I was rooting for the Raiders.

It raises a major hurdle for getting the sport to take overseas. Football is a stupid name for the sport of American Football. It barely uses a foot at all. Soccer should be football. I'm not sure what the answer is, but American Football just makes us sound like pig-headed, non-metric using jerk offs that we are reputed to be around the world.

Matt McCoin of the Raiders had a pretty good game last week. You have to know that Carr played against the depth of Seahawks (which we destroyed) and doesn't mean Carr = Raiders good. Schaub has two guys ready to take his job if he keeps sucking eggs. Maybe Raiders have a better future as the present and past has been the worst.

Seattle played their starters yesterday
Carr scored a TD against them

Carr should start because Matt Schaub cannot physically play the position anymore
At least with Carr you can challenge teams vertically

Its not like the Raiders are a contender this year

I don't mind them coming down hard on performance enhancers. At least there's a game integrity angle there.

It's the domestic violence vs recreational drug/alcohol use disparity that's the worst.
