Jacoby Jones is with the Ravens, in meetings

Ravens receiver Jacoby Jones, who has been out for two weeks with a knee injury, reportedly added another injury overnight.

According to TMZ, Jones was struck in the head with a giant champagne bottle swung by a stripper named Sweet Pea on a party bus celebrating left tackle Bryant McKinnie’s birthday.

Yes, I just typed that sentence.

Jones reportedly was “bleeding everywhere.”

Regardless of whether Jones was injured or the extent of the harm, the Ravens have informed PFT that Jones is currently with the team in meetings.

Hopefully, there are no gigantic champagne bottles in the room

LOL What?

A bunch of Ravens players had a night out on Sunday in DC in honor of Bryant McKinnie’s 34th birthday after the team defeated Houston in Baltimore. Nothing remarkable – just a party bus with a bottle-swinging stripper named Sweet Pea who injured Jacoby Jones.

One eyewitness tells us he saw a bottle being swung at Jacoby Jones — it connected with his head and hurt him. We’re told an ambulance was called “for a bleeding male” but he was not taken to the hospital.

Our sources say a stripper named Sweet Pea is the one who hit Jacoby with a gigantic Ace of Spades bottle and this may have triggered the brawl. We’re told the bottle smashed over his head and he was “bleeding everywhere.”

We’re told Jacoby’s friends tried to retaliate against Sweet Pea but Bryant McKinnie tried to stop him, and a fight broke out between the friend and Bryant.

Nate Burleson leaned over early Tuesday morning to try and adjust one of the two pizzas falling off the seat of his black 2009 GMC Yukon. By doing so, the Detroit Lions wide receiver could be out of action for a long time.

Burleson broke his arm in two places in a single-car crash on Interstate 696 heading westbound near Drake Road in Farmington Hills, Mich., around 2:25 on Tuesday morning. Police were called to the scene. He was transported to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries but was complaining of pain in his left arm, according to Michigan State Police Lt. Michael Shaw.

Turns out that pain is a broken arm in two places according to what Burleson's agent, Ken Sarnoff, told ESPN NFL Insider Ed Werder. The Lions confirmed Burleson will have surgery Tuesday.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have decided to bench quarterback Josh Freeman for rookie Mike Glennon, according to league sources.

The Bucs are making the change now because they feel it is beneficial for Glennon with the bye week coming after Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals, team sources told ESPN. He can start this week, then have two weeks for the coaches to review his performance and make corrections before the Bucs play the Philadelphia Eagles on Oct. 13.

Almost did last night and barely won against the Jets. I can't believe the Falcons wouldn't run the ball more, especially the 3rd and 1 inside the 10 late in the game.

Teams will take advantage of them now without wilfork. It just opens up more possibilities for teams now. Long season still to go.

TB has really shot themselves in the foot on their coaching decisions. This is kind of strange because they have a good GM. IIRC Schiano was not their first choice, they wanted another college coach badly (was it Chip Kelly?). The thing with Schiano is that the GM needs to sit down with him and talk to him about his coaching style. That's what I'd do. I'd tell him that these highly paid players are not kids (even though off the field many are) and that you have to coach them a certain way. You don't have to be a push over, but you have to earn their respect. Good coaches know how to do this, idiot coaches don't and end up out of the NFL after a few years, or remain as assistants or coordinators.

Schiano has a fantastic opportunity here. I'd like to see him succeed.

Between DRC, Tony Carter, and Trindon Holliday we don't don't need Peterson and are just fine. I know some people are pissy about Carter giving up garbage time yards last week when the game was on ice but he is a solid CB who can man up with the best. I don't get the dudes who don't like him. I will take guys who work as hard as he does even when faced with giving up size vs the taller and bigger WR's.

That said I can't wait for Champ to get back.

It would be nice to see them even just give Champ a couple snaps here and there to work him back in and be active just from a depth perspective.

Charles misses practice

Feets don't fail kFc now! -or - I've Got Blisters On My Fingers!

KANSAS CITY, MO. (AP)
The Kansas City Chiefs were missing several key players, including Pro Bowl running back Jamaal Charles, as they began preparing for Sunday's game at Tennessee.

Charles missed Wednesday's workout because of blisters on his feet. Chiefs coach Andy Reid said he believes Charles will be ready to go against the Titans.

Top cornerback Brandon Flowers remained out of practice with inflammation in his knee, and starting free safety Kendrick Lewis has been dealing with a sprained ankle.

Rookie right tackle Eric Fisher, the No. 1 overall pick in the draft, is still undergoing evaluations from a concussion he sustained in last weekend's 31-7 win over the Giants.

Even punter Dustin Colquitt was out of practice. He hurt his knee last Sunday.

If he was coaching for the team who wanted to sign him to play, he could do both. Player coaches were very common many decades ago in the NFL. Of course if he was offered to play for another team, he would have to choose.

Peyton also has a severely jacked up neck. Playing through injuries doesn't mean you don't get hurt.

With regards to my comment, this post is almost worthless.

1. You're wrong. His neck is fine. The area that received treatment is stronger than a normal vertebrae.
2. Even if he did, how many other QB's have had the kind of injury that Manning had? I don't know of any.
3. Are you seriously trying to argue that a running QB and a pocket passer are equally at risk of injury? That just isn't true.

Yet he (at least last season) was very reliable and helped us become on of the best offenses. Someone that needs a cheaper and of course not as good Wes Welker can take a cheap chance on Stokley for at least a fill in until a player comes back from injury. He is no longer on some teams future roster (at 37 years of age) but a fill in indeed. Good luck to him and wish him luck finding another gig outside of the AFC West or NFC East.

They didn't know Pryor would turn into Colin Kapernick.

I am surprised at the move just from a depth position, Pryor already had his bell rung and had to exit then miss one game in the 1st quarter of the year. At least Flynn can run the O and you already paid him over $6mill guaranteed so why not just keep him at #3 for the year in case Pryor gets hurt again?

Pretty comical.

I understand your logic but it will still be a 1st round pick, probably early to mid 20's which the Browns can leverage to move up if they want to or make another trade.

There was no way they were going to get their 3rd overall pick back but they did just as well before anyone noticed. It is way to early yet to tell if Richardson is bad or just having trouble adjusting to a new team midseason.

And more teams get in trouble behind that than a little. You can also get a QB anywhere but you don't chance it and take the best guy as earlier as you can.

Not really, KM still has yet to break the 1k mark (was close his rookie year) and is only on pace to get 1059.2 yards this year and everyone thinks he is the best thing since TD.

Do what kFcSTUDLY does and lower your expectations by saying you can find a RB who can get "1k All-Purpose yards anywhere"

Certainly showing some promise in his early career start. What would be funny is if it ends up geno > Alex smith. I'm starting to think that already based on the multiple ways geno can move chains. Smith can only check down to move chains.

So apparently Jon Sandusky (Director of Player Personnel for the Browns, Jerry's son) was arrested for DUI in Fargo. He was probably the guy I saw the other night. It was pretty much right next to the Gentleman's Club a few blocks from my apartment. I had seen some Browns executives on NDSU's campus later that day leaving some of the sporting facilities. Lol.

My guess is that they are here to scout Marcus Williams, CB. I am just not sure how much zone defense the Browns run, but he is one of a handful of pro prospects who should get a shot out of NDSU this year.

I was totally disgusted by the filth who would beat up a 2 year old child but I admit to having some amount (far much less of course) of disgust for the parents who had a baby and either didn't bother to get married or fell out so quickly.

What does society expect the welfare for children born from Baby Momma's to be if they are living in a single parent home?

If AP wants to party and bang these broads then do the right thing and get snipped, if he is concerned about having children down the road with one of the true loves of his life then they can freeze some sperm samples or even go so far to try to reverse the procedure, which I hear is extremely painful. Why be so unresponsible that you mess up not only the baby's life but the baby momma's life as well.

How people can walk away from their own kids and value them disgusts me to no end.

Being raised by one parent has nothing to do with it. Would you still feel the same way if they were white? I noticed how you refer to the mother as babys mamma.

40% of children are born out of wedlock. Baby momma's (of every color) have figured out that they can game the system to live like they are upper-middle class without working.

Welcome to the welfare state.

Sorry man I read the below link and "Baby Momma" was the only term that came to mind. Clearly there are women of all races and creeds who get pregnant and use that child to gain child support or trap the father into marriage.

I am obviously hoping the boy pulls through and gets the help he needs to live a full and happy life no matter what his home situation is. This Patterson guy needs to pay for his horrific actions.

It bothers me that our society undervalues children and that they are used as leverage by certain dirtbags of ALL races and creeds. It is certainly horrific to think anyone could perform that level of violence against a 2 year old.

I read the below before posting, like Meck said in another thread sometimes it is better to be here for over 10 years and not have a lot of posts!

NFL star Adrian Peterson has rushed to South Dakota to be near his 2-year-old son, who was severely beaten by his mother's boyfriend, reports TMZ.

The boyfriend, allegedly a man named Robert Joseph Patterson, has been arrested for aggravated felony assault and battery of an infant. The little boy was reportedly found unresponsive at his home on Wednesday evening and now is listed in critical condition at a nearby hospital.

The child reportedly suffered severe head injuries and has allegedly not had any brain activity since 5:30PM last night. If he is still unresponsive in 24 hours, apparently the mother would like to take him off of life support and donate his organs.

Peterson is expected to address the media at some point Friday morning.

And the name of the boy and his mother have not been publicly released either. Peterson has another child, a daughter, and it is not immediately clear if the two kids have the same mother. He also has another son.

However, there's speculation that the injured boy's mom is a woman named Erica, who embarked on a sexy modeling career not long ago, according to always reliable Media Take Out.

Peterson also had a longtime girlfriend, Ashley Brown, who he dated throughout high school and beyond. They reportedly have the daughter together, Adeja. Again, it seems that another woman, Erica, could be mother to the two-year-old son who is in the hospital.

Athletes get around, it's not unknown. That's why I am constantly stunned when a woman marries a guy before his professional career is over.
Too much temptation out there when you are away from your girlfriend, wife, fiance, main squeeze or whatever.

It takes a huge amount of restraint to hold back and most of your colleagues will be pushing you to have fun.

With that said, having a kid either while married or not is irrelevant in this day and age.
People get married for the wrong reasons, stay together for the wrong reasons and etc.
If you're a parent and you are an active participant in that child's life and love them then I have no issue with it.
People getting married or staying in a relationship because of having a kid tends to not end well. Resentment starts up and there comes a point where a schism begins to form and the child suffers for it.

Being there is half of parenting. Showing up and being active and not just sending money or fighting over a bunch of nonsense isn't what a child needs.
